NDRA Pro Doorslammers – All Out to Win and Entertain At Grand Bend Motorplex
Grand Bend, ON – As predicted, Grand Bend Motorplex(GBM) in Grand Bend, ON put on another grand event last weekend (June 15 – 
16) as they hosted “Canada’s Biggest All Bike Race Weekend”
Even though Mother Nature dumped whack of precipitation over-night on Saturday, she didn’t dampen the efforts of the GBM track folks or the racers. As soon as the last few drops quit, the crew was hard at it to dry and prep the drag strip. They quickly got the day in gear for the Rocky’s “Harleys by the Beach”, racing and the National Drag Racing Association’s 2nd Pro Doorslammer Series points race.
Race fans enjoyed plenty of thrilling two-wheeler action as bikes of every make full-throttled their way to the top end, with the Top Fuel Harleys producing some “on the edge of your seat” entertainment.

Al-Anabi Racing ready for Inagural New England Nationals
Shawn Langdon, Al-Anabi Racing Top Fuel Dragster (silver):
Shawn Langdon enters the Auto-Plus NHRA New England Nationals in second place in the NHRA Mello Yello Top Fuel point standings. He trails first-place Tony Schumacher by one point and leads third-place Spencer Massey by 85 points.
Langdon enters the New England Nationals having won three races this season, more than any other Top Fuel driver, including two of the last three; he visited the winner’s circle in Topeka, Kan. in May and at Englishtown, N.J. earlier this month. His first win came at the season-opening NHRA Winternationals in Pomona, Calif. in February. He now has four-career Top Fuel wins.
Langdon has been a solid qualifier this season; his average qualifying position is 4.50. He was the No. 1 qualifier at three of the last six races taking top qualifier honors at Charlotte, Atlanta Dragway and Topeka, and he has qualified in the top-four positions at six of the 10 events this year. Langdon has nine career No. 1 qualifiers.
Langdon has advanced to at least the semifinals at six of the 10 races this season; he has three wins among five final-round appearances, and he has advanced to the final round at four of the last six races.
Pre-race Notes – Team Jegs Heads to New England Dragway
Jeg Coughlin Jr. will once again pursue the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series Pro Stock championship in 2013. Jeg Jr. is driving the 
same JEGS Mopar Dodge Avenger that carried him a ninth-place finish last season. It was the 13th time in his career that Jeg Jr. has finished in the top ten.
The JEGS Mail Order team made a major change to their Pro Stock program this winter when Jeg Jr. joined forces with reigning NHRA Pro Stock champion Allen Johnson. This year, Coughlin’s Dodge will be powered by HEMI engines from Johnson’s J&J Racing team and will be tuned by Johnson’s crew chiefs Mark Ingersoll and Jim Yates.
Numerous First Time Winners Highlight Sportsman Series Opener
CAYUGA, ON – The 2nd Annual Dilts Piston Hydraulics Season Opener marked the opening race weekend for the DSE Sportsman 
Racing Series in the 2013 season, which saw over 125 of Ontario’s best Sportsman Bracket racers converge onto Cayuga Dragway of Toronto Motorsports Park.
Saturdays Racing started late when scattered showers forced the start time back to 4 pm, however with clearing skies and a good forecast for the evening, racers hit the track running 1/8th mile and produced some fantastic Saturday night racing.
Two reigning Champions from last season wasted little time in 2013 placing their names back on top of the list of contenders. Both Pete Stewart in the DSEAutomotive.ca Super Bike/Sled class and Steve Ferstl in Renegade Race Fuels Super Pro category, took Saturday victories in their respective classes with Stewart defeating Stew Shields and Ferstl winning a close double breakout over Brad Redford.
Free Saturday spectator admission at South Coast Community Weekend race
CAYUGA, ON – The second annual South Coast Community Weekend at the Cayuga Dragway of Toronto Motorsports Park June 21-23 
will offer drag racing fans free admission this Saturday.
And fans will be treated to the next round of Pro Modified Racing Association, Quick 32 Sportsman Series, and Pro Bike & Sled Series racing on the Cayuga quarter-mile.
The weekend gets underway this Friday with test and tuning for the three series, and qualifying begins Saturday at 11:00 am and will continue through to the last qualifier at 7:00 pm. Both The Quick 32 Sportsman Series, which is presented by NAPA Auto Parts, and the PBSS, presented by Wiseco Performance Products, will hold their postponed rained-out event from Michigan last month with eliminations worked into the Saturday schedule as well as qualifying runs for the present event.

Finke, Veney Score at Lebanon Valley

At the East Regional at Lebanon Valley Dragway in the mountains of upstate New York, John Finke won Top Alcohol Dragster from the No. 1 spot and Todd Veney did likewise in Top Alcohol Funny Car.
Competing at his home track, Finke completed a storybook weekend with a final-round decision over teammate Jackie Fricke, who was appearing in her first regional final. They left almost.050 lights and Finke earned the title with a consistent 5.48 when Fricke, driving Joe Cantrell’s car, went up in smoke.
