TORONTO, ONTARIO – After a year away from the Pro Modified Racing Association, Sam Andreacchi returned in 2010 and made his mark, finishing fifth in the PMRA Championship Point Award Series presented by Magnum Auto Parts and Patio Passport.
“We had a great season,” said Andreacchi. “We stayed healthy and are pleased with the year.”
The driver of the Andreacchi Motorsports 1969 Chevy Nova, owned by Andreacchi and Domenic Calabria, is powered by a 526-cubic inch Al Billes Racing Brad Anderson supercharged engine.
Andreacchi’s season was highlighted with a victory in the fourth round of PMRA action during the Stratford Spectacular Hot Summer Nationals at the Grand Bend Motorplex. He also qualified well for most of the races, and was a quarter-finalist in several of them, totaling 1223 points for fifth in the 26-car field at year’s end.

BELLEVILLE, ONTARIO – Placing fifth in the Quick 32 Sportsman Series presented by NAPA Auto Parts Championship Point Award Series for 2010 was Steve Parkhurst and his popular 1955 Chevy Top Sportsman entry.
The Belleville, Ontario racer said he was pleased with his first season in the Quick 32 Sportsman Series, adding he plans to get more testing in to sort out the car before the start of next year.
“We had a pretty good season,” he noted. “We didn’t break anything, and overall I’m happy with the Series. We’ll be coming back next year.”
The Parkhurst Motors Chevy is powered by a nitrous-assisted 704 cubic inch engine built by Redline Automotive which sits between the frame rails of an LJ chassis. A Rossler transmission and MagnaFuel Racing fuel system are also part of the package.

Thonotosassa, FL – Improve the handling response of your 1st and 2nd Generation F-body by increasing chassis rigidity with a set of Body Mount Bushings from BMR Fabrication. These solid bushings are CNC-machined from low-friction Delrin. The BMR Body Mount Bushings (BMB001) eliminate the flex that occurs between the body and the front sub frame. This exclusive design provides squeak-free operation and is not prone to corrosion like aluminum bushings. Provided with new grade 8 mounting hardware. Installation time is only 3-4 hours.

ORILLIA, ONTARIO – Melanie Simmons and her Toyrific Racing Top Dragster had an impressive season in 2010, especially considering the major learning curve thrown her way during the Quick 32 Sportsman Series racing season.
Simmons, from Orillia, Ontario made the move to a supercharged engine in 2010 to afford her a better opportunity to qualify in the top half of the field for the increasingly competitive Quick 32 Sportsman Series events. After several DNQ’s (did not qualify) in the 2009 season, the Toyrific team benefited from the assistance of Carl Spiering and ERD (Engine Research & Development) to build a supercharged 540 cubic-inch Big Block Chevy to motivate the popular female driver. It was an instant gratification for Simmons dipping into the 6.80-second range at 196 mph on her first full pull.
“It was awesome to make the switch from our injected engine to the supercharged engine in 2010. There is nothing like belt-driven power. We cut a full second in ET and added around 30 mph,” Simmons noted.

Orangeville, Ontario – Earlier this year, Hinbest Racing teamed up with the Quick 32 Sportsman Series, www.Quick32.ca, and the Canadian Automotive Institute to offer a $1000 scholarship package in an effort to give back to the automotive community, and recently the winners of this scholarship were announced.
During the 25th Anniversary Auto Show at the Canadian Automotive Institute at Georgian College Hinbest Racing and The Quick 32 Sportsman Series presented Patrick Sullivan of Orangeville and Andrew Brimson of Barrie with a $500 cheque. These students worked hard during the show, and showed a passion for the automotive business deserving of the award.
“Being a Graduate of the Canadian Automotive Institute I am excited to be able to give something back to the school which has instilled so many skills in myself,” said team driver Mike Hinbest.
To top off the weekend, Hinbest graduated with his Honors bachelor of business automotive management degree, and was chosen as the Valedictorian for the 2010 class.
