National Guard ADRL Adds Monster Trucks to World Finals Roster

O’FALLON, MO — Halloween will still be a week away, but monsters will be set loose at the Texas Motorplex Oct.ADRL_Bigfootsm 23-24, when “BIGFOOT,” the biggest name in monster truck history, takes on the equally intimidating “Snake-Bite” in a special, eighth-mile drag racing grudge match during the LenMar Motorsports ADRL World Finals V, the championship-deciding season ender for the National Guard American Drag Racing League (ADRL).

The “Appalachia on Steroids” Pro Extreme Camaro of Stanley And Weiss Racing, fresh off its own personal best runs at The Rock is ready to head off up north to The 7th Annual Shakedown at E Town’s all out Outlaw race at the infamous Old Bridge Township Raceway Park in central New Jersey.

And all who would know will know that Vinny will be smiling down on us at that news. Vinnie used to ruffle John Stanley’s hair “back in the day” as he packed his Dad’s parachutes!!!

The powers that be nixed screw blowers racing in the 1/4 mile Al-Anabi Racing, Lend America Pro Modified Blown Class so John’s desired five second time slip shall have to wait for another day. Therefore we will race in the Outlaw 1/8th Mile Pro Modified Challenge that the Al-Anabi Racing And Barwa people have funded.

National Guard ADRL Brings Unique ‘Battle’ to Texas Motorplex

2009DallaslogosmO’FALLON, MO — In 2005, the inaugural year for the National Guard American Drag Racing League (ADRL), series president and CEO Kenny Nowling knew he would have a tough time convincing racers based mostly in the Southeast and with no mathematical chance at a championship to make the long tow west to Kennedale, Texas, for the fledgling outfit’s season ender. So, he came up with the Speedtech Battle for the Belts, a unique playoff concept set this year for Oct. 23, opening day of the LenMar Motorsports ADRL World Finals V at the Texas Motorplex in Ennis, Texas, just south of Dallas. Rod Pearce Sets Three Records in Sacramento

RodPearceSacramento, CA Rod Pearce, a lone nitrous contender in an all blown field, set three new track records this past weekend in Sacramento, September 19th 2009. Pearce and crew attended the West Coast Outlaw Pro Mod Association’s (WCOPMA) 40th Annual Governors Cup event with plans of simply testing their new Sonny’s 5.3 Bore Space 864 Wedge Engine. Conditions were tough in Sacramento with track temperatures reaching a sizzling 140 degrees. Pearce managed to qualify his 63 Nitrous Corvette in the 7th position with a promising 6.35 @ 228 mph on the first full run with his new Sonny’s engine. Competition was fierce with one of the quickest fields to compete at a WCOPMA event with 15 blown entries and Pearce standing as the lone wolf of nitrous. Continue reading

Hagestown, MD  The “Appalachia on Steroids” braintrust received a phone call about the ADRL Dragstock race at Rockingham a week before it was to be held. The person on the other end wanted to know why we were not going to attend the largest ADRL race of the year. We had to tell them the truth—POVERTY had inevitably entered into the equation! That being said our new fairy Godfather agreed to put up some money to help us attend the race. Continue reading

No New Rules for National Guard ADRL

O’FALLON, MO (September 23, 2009) — After careful consideration, the National Guard American Drag Racing League (ADRL) will not be imposing any new minimum weight rules in the foreseeable future. Additionally, traction control will remain an option for those teams that wish to use it in every professional category with the exception of Extreme Pro Stock, which retains the rules that mandate a minimum weight (2,425 lbs w/driver) and specify the use of traction control is not allowed.   Continue reading

CASTELLANA SCORES THIRD WIN IN ALL AL-ANABI FINAL; AUXIER POSTS CAREER BEST, MAKES THE BATTLE FOR THE BELTS

ROCKINGHAM, NC – Mike Castellana scored his third Pro Nitrous win in three finals rounds on the 2009 National Guard ADRL Tour at the Flowmaster Dragstock VI at Rockingham Dragway. This victory tied him for No. 3 on the ADRL Pro Nitrous all-time winningest driver’s list and marked the second time in his ADRL career that he has won from the No. 1 qualifying spot.
