Bad Fast Is What They Were “Appalachian Hillbillies” Dinwiddie Wild Style

Courtesy of Stanley Weiss Racing

The third stop on the ADRL tour in 2010 was the fantastic drag strip located in Dinwiddie, VA just south of the staid old city of Richmond. This track was good to us last year for our first appearance there as an ADRL Pro Extreme racing team. It was where we shocked ourselves and everyone else around us by completely bypassing the 3.80 ET zone and running a 3.79 on the night qualifier!

The first two hits in qualifying were nothing to write home about and had left us on the non qualified list. But we redeemed ourselves a bit on the night qualifier yet again. A pedaling 3.89 along side the first Al Anabi Racing Team Camaro put us in the show where we would stay through the last qualifier on Saturday morning. Our 3.806 on Sat morning was real close to another 3.70 run for us but it was going to have to do. The bad thing about that 3.80 with a 6 run was the fact that we were only number eleven in the field of sixteen!!!!

Goforth Racing Post Race Wrap Up

Courtesy of Goforth Racing

Holdenville OK – Goforth Racing has had a couple busy weeks of racing, competing in both MMPSA at MIR, and going directly to the ADRL event in Virginia. The MMPSA event didn’t turn out the way we hoped, with Cary qualifying in the #5 Spot and Dean in the #7 position. “We really wanted to do well at this event to move up in the points, sometimes its just not our weekend” Goforth said.

Having already committed to running two races in the same area it made sense for us to travel straight from the MIR MMPSA event to Virginia Motorsports Park for the ADRL event. It makes for a long time away from home, but makes sense financially to stay in the area. The team wanted to have a good showing at ADRL and extend Cary’s points lead.

Team Eaton Aeroquip’s Robertson Runs First Three Second Pass

Norwalk, OH– Norwalk, Ohio’s Summit Raceway Park’s Door Wars held during their Friday Night Chaos Series is quickly becoming a haven for Mid-West and North East Outlaw Pro Modifieds. The series is continuing to grow by leaps and bounds but, what has been lacking is the sub four second passes that Outlaw fans have become used to on the national scene; that was until now.

Todd Robertson of Harrison Twp, Michigan took his supercharged alky burning Cobalt to the first three second pass in Door Wars history with a 3.96 elapsed time, giving hardcore Outlaw fans just what they have been looking for.

“It’s been about three years since talk of the first three started at a Door Wars race,” said Team Owner/driver Todd, Robertson. “There have been a lot of good cars here trying to be the first and even some heavy hitters from the national circuits so, to be the first one in the threes at a Door Wars event is special to us. I can’t thank my crew and my sponsors enough for everything they do for this team,” added Robertson.

Team Aruba Determined to Earn First Victory After VMP Performance

Courtesy of Team Arruba

UNION, SC — “Virginia Motorsports Park?Hello from Aruba!” A nice and sunny weekend at Virginia Motorsports Park (VMP) proved to be a beautiful racing weekend. Team Aruba’s driver, Trevor Eman happily said, “It feels like we are racing in Aruba!”

As always, Team Aruba’s pit area is a reflection of the island Aruba and the Aruban People. “We’re having fun, but the weekend is not over yet. We have a lot of work ahead of us, and we have to do well to be in the show with the other 19 Mountain Motor Pro Stock teams,” says Eman, a full-time college student and the youngest Mountain Motor Pro Stock driver. “Let’s go racing…And a warm ‘Hello’ from Aruba!”

VMP hosted nice weather and even nicer people. These conditions must have really worked, because Trevor did a first qualifying run of 4.10 seconds as the third pair out. “We came pretty close to beating our career-best elapsed time,” says Trevor, who was only a hundredth and a half seconds off of his best ET. “We were at the 60-foot mark in 0.984 seconds; not a bad first run.”
