I Love My “Job” !!

Off To Santa Pod With Trouble Racing Motorsports Pro Mod Corvette

By Camp Stanley, Stanley And Weiss Racing.com

At the end of this month of May I will again board a United Airlines flight and wing my way the opposite way ’round the world than I normally would go. I am off to The Main Event at Santa Pod Raceway outside of London. This will be a return for me to Santa Pod although I shall be in a different role this time. I will still be doing human interest writings for RPM Magazine, but I will also be in my element in the pits this time. Also I will be able to reacquaint myself with all my European friends I have made throughout my career.

Instead of just being a nosy tourist in amongst all the drag racers I will get to be a hands on worker bee person with the Trouble Racing Motorsports Pro Modified Corvette from Switzerland. Marcus Hilt has graciously offered me a chance to tweak some screws on his Mike Janis/JanCen hemi powered race car. Although Marcus will be at a VERY distinct disadvantage with the blower he will be running we both think it will give us a chance to work out a few other issues.

Team Aruba Heads to MIR for MMPSA Mountain Motor Nationals

UNION, SOUTH CAROLINA — Often referred to as the ‘home of Mountain Motor racers’, this weekend Maryland International Raceway (MIR) in Budds Creek, MD, will host the Mountain Motor Pro Stock Association (MMPSA) Outback Steakhouse Mountain Motor Nationals. One of the longest running Pro Stock events, the Mountain Motor Nationals will host Pro Stock and Pro Modifieds at their quarter mile track, promising heart pumping drag racing action with some of the country’s fastest drag cars.

“We just hit the road yesterday, after spending a few rainy days in Ohio,” said Team Aruba driver, Trevor Eman. “We’re now on our way to Budds Creek, and hopefully the weather will cooperate this time.” Team Aruba traveled to Martin, Michigan last week for the MMPSA NAPA Thunder Nationals, but an impending storm front led to a cancellation of the second MMPSA race. “Although the race in Martin was canceled, we were able to get in valuable testing sessions to prepare us for the Mountain Motor Nationals,” says Trevor.

Aeroquip Team Heading to the Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Southern Nationals

Mooresville, NC – Following on the heels of the team’s best showing this season, Mike Janis and his Aeroquip Pro Modified team is looking to build off of that success by leaving nothing to chance.

Janis and his crew left their Buffalo, NY shop a few days early to hit their favorite test track, “The Dirty Mo” in Mooresville, NC.

Co-Crew Chief Kevin Peters explains why the Aeroquip team has such an affinity for the Mooresville eighth mile. “We’ve been coming here for a few years now and the entire track personnel go out of their way to make sure the track prep is second to none and they also help make our stay as pleasant as possible,” said Peters. “We may be in the heart of NASCAR country but they sure know how to prep a drag strip” added Peters.

After making several successful passes the team has packed up and headed to what Bob Frey lovingly refers to as “Hot-lanta” for the Pro Mod portion of the Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Southern Nationals at Atlanta Dragway, May 14-16.
