O’FALLON, MO — The American Drag Racing League (ADRL) has released the matchups in all six classes for the LenMar Motorsports ADRL World Finals VI and the prestigious Speedtech “Battle For The Belts.” The innovative, eight-spot elimination tournament to determine a world champion in every ADRL class (Pro Extreme, Pro Nitrous, Extreme 10.5, Pro Extreme Motorcycle, Extreme Pro Stock and Pro Junior Dragster) takes place on Oct. 22-23 at Texas Motorplex in Ennis, TX.

ADRL drivers earned points during the 2010 ADRL Tour for their racing performance, record-breaking runs and event participation. Only the top eight drivers in each class advanced and last weekend’s double-race (Dragstock VII and the Ohio Drags IV) at Summit Motorsports Park was the final opportunity to earn a spot into the field.  The points leader in each class also receives a first-round bye.

EMAN SHINES AT SUMMIT DRAGWAY

Courtesy of Team Aruba

NORWALK, OHIO –After the rain once again halted race action in Rockingham, the eliminations were wrapped in Norwalk. On Friday evening, Team Aruba and the Digicel driven Ecort powered themselves into a spot in the semi-finals, and fell just shy of an appearance in the finals.

Saturday, the sporadic clouds lingered and the temperature dropped. Round one of eliminations began at 9am and it was prime racing weather. “Being in the semis after the rain called Rockingham was fantastic and carrying that momentum into the next day’s qualifying round and eliminations was just what we needed,” Eman stated. Team Aruba also bounced back from the first three rounds of qualifying running a 4.11, sitting 6th in the bracket.

In round on e of eliminations Eman ran a 4.26 and recognized immediate transmission issues. Performing well at the track and gaining points whenever possible will be crucial, as Eman and his crew work towards the opportunity to compete for the Battle of the Belts that will take place next month.

Courtesy of ADRL

Norwalk, OH – This past weekend was the 4th annual ADRL Summit Racing Equipment Ohio Drags, which also held host to the canceled ADRL Simpson Dragstock VII, in Norwalk Ohio. After rain had delayed the Simpson Dragstock, the race was continued in Ohio. We pick up the action in Ohio.

Coming off of a #3 qualifier (3.92 @ 185.69mph) at the Dragstock VII, The Titan Scion was finally ready for Friday’s elimination runs. The first round drew L.J. Wood Jr. Wood had a great light and led until about the 330 foot mark, where Gary proceeded to run him down to win by over a car length. In the second round Team Titan was set to run against long time rival Billy Glidden. Gary and Billy have been battling back and forth for the better part of 2 years now and it is always “anyone’s race” when these two line up. White had a great light, but Glidden was on a role, and posted his second 3 second pass in a row to take the win against Gary’s 4.098.

The “Evil Outlaw” plans to run 2 races in 1 weekend

Courtesy of Firebaugh Express

Firebaugh, Ca Jay Diedrich was torn earlier in the season when he saw that the final West Coast Outlaw Pro Mod Association event and the final West Coast Hot Rod Association event were booked on the same weekend. Diedrich has been a big contender and supporter this 2010 season with both the WCOPMA and in the WCHRA’s Pro Street class. So to him, only one thing was to be done, figure out a way to attend both events and support both associations.

Diedrich has his eye on second place in points with both associations. Bret Williamson wrapped up the number 1 spot with the West Coast Outlaw Pro Mods and Randy Walker will be leaving the big number 1 on his windshield for the WCHRA’s Pro Street class as he wrapped up the top spot for the 2010 season.

Diedrich only has 1 person to get around in the West Coast Outlaw Pro Mod points standings and 2 people to get by in the West Coast Hot Rod Association’s Pro Street class.

ADRL.us Named Title Sponsor For Eighth Annual Shakedown At E’Town

Courtesy of ADRL

O’FALLON, MO — The American Drag Racing League (ADRL) announced that its website, www.ADRL.us, has been named the title sponsor for the eighth annual ADRL.us Shakedown at E’Town, which takes place Oct. 1-3 at Old Bridge Township Raceway Park in Englishtown, NJ.

In addition to the ADRL.us title sponsorship, the ADRL’s in-house magazine, Adrenaline, will also sponsor the event’s Adrenaline Pro Extreme Eighth-Mile Challenge.

“When the situation presented itself last week that Al-Anabi would not be able to continue as the title sponsor of this great event as a result of their contact with the ADRL, it became a high priority for both myself and (Al-Anabi owner) KH Al-Thani to help (Shakedown founder and promoter) Dave (Hance) secure a title sponsor,” ADRL President and CEO Kenny Nowling said.

Jan-Cen Power Takes Janis to Semi-Final Finish in Charlotte

Courtesy of: Mike Janis Racing Inc.

Elma, NY– Mike Janis took his 2010 Ford Mustang to a semi-final finish at the O’Reilly Auto NHRA Nationals at zMax Dragway in Charlotte, NC this past weekend.

Janis’ run to the winner’s circle was halted by a faulty pneumatic valve; causing incorrect timing early in his semi-final run.

“We’ve had a problem this year with little things getting us,” said Crew Chief, Mike Janis Jr. “We’re confident we have the power to run with anyone here. OK, the turbo car is in a class of his own right now but, if we can string a few runs together I like our chance against anyone.”

Janis started eliminations from the number six position after running a best of 5.95 at just under 244 miles per hour in qualifying. In round one Janis took on Californian Danny Rowe at the wheel of his Sterling Bridge ’68 Camaro. The race was over at the tree when Rowe fouled out turning on the red light. The win over Rowe set up a second round pairing of Janis versus Burgess. Roger Burgess, a self made millionaire from Duluth, Georgia, made his way to the second round by defeating his teammate Ray Commisso in round one.
