Firebaugh, Ca Jay Diedrich and his Firebaugh Express Racing 1957 Chevy will head to Las Vegas for the Street Car Super Nationals VI event to compete in the toughest Pro Street field in the world this upcoming weekend!

Diedrich, who missed the event last year and only had 1 shot to qualify the year before, will be locked and ready as soon as the lanes open for testing on Thursday to acquire data and make some laps in preparation for the Thursday night “Pro Street Showdown” where $500 will be given to the quickest AND the fastest Pro Street passes.

Diedrich has had a stellar 2010 season so far placing 3rd with the West Coast Outlaw Pro Mod Association in points and 2nd with the West Coast Hot Rod Association’s Pro Street class. At each racetrack attended in 2010, Diedrich has reset the track MPH record at every one (5 total) with a best being 249.47 and has ran career best ET’s, the best being 6.11. In Vegas he plans to better on both personal best numbers.

Diedrich Make ADRL Debut at LenMar World Finals

Firebaugh, Ca – Jay Diedrich and crew will be bringing their 1957 Chevy from California down to Texas to compete in the quickest and fastest of the American Drag Racing League’s classes, Pro Extreme. Diedrich is an avid racer on the west coast within many 1/4-mile associations but this will mark the first time he will compete on the 1/8-mile level and possibly, one of his biggest events he’s attended yet.

Alongside Diedrich will be Lonnie Houde with LHP Racing calling the shots on the tune-up. Houde is no stranger within the PX class as he has worked on, tuned and set up complete fuel systems for many racers who compete. Houde has been tuning for Diedrich all season and will admit it is a challenge getting the 2,800 pound car down the race track. The two of them go into Ennis looking for an experience and getting exposure as more ADRL events are planned for the 2011 season.

The “Evil Outlaw” plans to run 2 races in 1 weekend

Courtesy of Firebaugh Express

Firebaugh, Ca Jay Diedrich was torn earlier in the season when he saw that the final West Coast Outlaw Pro Mod Association event and the final West Coast Hot Rod Association event were booked on the same weekend. Diedrich has been a big contender and supporter this 2010 season with both the WCOPMA and in the WCHRA’s Pro Street class. So to him, only one thing was to be done, figure out a way to attend both events and support both associations.

Diedrich has his eye on second place in points with both associations. Bret Williamson wrapped up the number 1 spot with the West Coast Outlaw Pro Mods and Randy Walker will be leaving the big number 1 on his windshield for the WCHRA’s Pro Street class as he wrapped up the top spot for the 2010 season.

Diedrich only has 1 person to get around in the West Coast Outlaw Pro Mod points standings and 2 people to get by in the West Coast Hot Rod Association’s Pro Street class.

Diedrich – the new Pro Mod MPH record holder for Bandimere Speedway

Courtesy of  Firebaugh Express

Morrison, CO – Jay Diedrich left his mark in Morrison, Colorado at Bandimere Speedway with a huge 237.09 speed in the final qualifying session Saturday night for the West Coast Outlaw Pro Mod Association while headlining at a Super Chevy Show event. The speed isn’t very fast compared to his quickest ever 249 MPH shot earlier this year at Sacramento, but considering it was made at “the mile high raceway” with a corrected elevation of 8,800 feet it starts to pack more of a punch.

In testing on Friday Diedrich was making laps of high 6.20’s to low 6.30’s at over 230 MPH all day. On Saturday’s first qualifying session, the “Evil Outlaw” 1957 Chevy broke the blower belt as soon as the clutch pedal was released which would make Jay have to wait for the second session to come around to secure a spot in the 8-car qualified field.

Diedrich is ready for Boise

Courtesy of Firebaugh Express Racing

Firebaugh, Ca – This upcoming weekend, Jay Diedrich and his Evil Outlaw 1957 Chevy will roll into Firebird Raceway in Boise, Idaho for the 39th annual Nightfire Nationals while running with the West Coast Outlaw Pro Mod Association. The Nightfire event is by far one of the biggest events on the West Coast and this will mark the first year the WCOPMA has run at the event.

Diedrich is starting to find the consistency needed to win races, his quick ET’s and fast MPH have been with him all season but consistency was lacking in the beginning. After winning his first pro mod event last month and running a career best ET at 6.11 he is more than ready to take on the best of the best on the West Coast in Boise.
