Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD Named Official Truck & Tow Vehicle of NMCA

Santa Ana, CA – Chevrolet, a longtime sponsor and supporter of the Red Line Oil NMCA Muscle Car Nationals, has expanded its role with the popular sanctioning body by becoming the “Official Truck & Tow Vehicle of NMCA” for 2022 and beyond.

The NMCA national event series has partnered with Chevrolet Performance for over 20 years in various programs from launching the LSX line-up of factory performance parts to celebrating the 50th anniversary of the famed COPO Camaro. As the Official Truck & Tow Vehicle of NMCA, Chevrolet has provided the series a pair of 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD dually pick-up trucks for towing and fire / safety purposes with over a dozen competitions on the schedule as both a sanctioning body and event production company.

“Our long-term relationship with Chevrolet is very valuable to NMCA from their deeply engrained performance division and now their line-up of new trucks and tow vehicles. NMCA Season Opener Set For Orlando Speed World Debut In 2023

Santa Ana, CA – Launching the Red Line Oil NMCA Muscle Car Nationals in the Florida sun is a long-standing tradition, and in 2023 the action will begin at Orlando Speed World for the first time in series history.

NMRA/NMCA Return to World Wide Technology Raceway in 2023

Madison, IL – The Holley NMRA Ford Nationals and Red Line Oil NMCA Muscle Car Nationals signed a three-year contract with the famed World Wide Technology Raceway as it continues building its presence in the St. Louis market through 2025. Be sure to block May 4-7, 2023 on your calendar as the official date for next year’s NMRA/NMCA Super Bowl of Street-Legal Drag Racing.

NMCA Race Wrap | 2022 NMRA/NMCA Super Bowl of Street-Legal Drag Racing presented by Fuelab

Madison, IL – As part of a time-honored tradition, racers came from all corners of the country to compete at the NMRA/NMCA Super Bowl of Street-Legal Drag Racing presented by Fuelab, May 12-15, 2022 at World Wide Technology Raceway in Illinois.

The longstanding and loved annual event was loaded with everything from fascinating competition to friendly rivalries. Waiting for racers who were able to outlast all of the others in their categories were NMCA and NMRA Winner’s Circles, Victor Awards and the decidedly desirable Nitto Diamond Tree Rings.

On the Red Line Oil NMCA Muscle Car Nationals side of this event, racers went over 200 mph in the eighth-mile in the extremely exciting VP Racing Lubricants Xtreme Pro Mod category, and leading the charge was Chip King, who set the pace in qualifying with a 3.68 in his magnificent Mustang Mach 1. But later in the weekend, Randy Merrick and Derek Ward met for the final round of eliminations, and Merrick muscled to the win with a 3.66 in his Corvette over Ward, who was forced to ease off of the throttle to a 4.38 in his Camaro.

2022 Scoggin Dickey Parts Center NMRA/NMCA All-Star Nationals presented by MAHLE Motorsport

Rockingham, NC – The racers were masterful and the racing was mind-blowing at the Scoggin Dickey Parts Center NMRA/NMCA All-Star Nationals presented by MAHLE Motorsport, April 21-24, 2022, at Rockingham Dragway in North Carolina.

The event at The Rock replaced the NMCA and NMRA’s annual stop at Atlanta Dragway, which closed last year. It promised plenty of action, and it definitely delivered, with everything from hard launches and high wheelies to exciting elapsed times and edge-of-your-seat competition.

On the Red Line Oil NMCA Muscle Car Nationals side, VP Racing Lubricants Xtreme Pro Mod racers rocketed to 3.60s and 3.70s in their commanding cars in qualifying, and among them was Derek Ward, who set the pace with a 3.67 in his Camaro. Ward hung tough all weekend, and earned a trip to the NMCA Winner’s Circle and an alluring Victor Award with a 3.70 run against Tom Blincoe, who was quicker on the tree, but shook the tires to a 5.65 in his Corvette.

Mark Pawuk’s Drag Pak Claims Victory at the NMCA Season Opener

BRADENTON, FL – Mark Pawuk drove his Empaco Equipment 2021 Dodge Challenger Mopar Drag Pak to victory this past Sunday at the season-opening NMCA Muscle Car Mayhem event at Bradenton Motorsports Park. Competing in the heads-up Holley EFI Factory Super Cars class, Pawuk faced some stiff competition from the herd of Cobra Jet Mustangs, COPO Camaros, and other Challenger Drag Paks competing in the class. Pawuk is also the first claim the new Direct Connection Contingency Program that pays $10,000 to a Drag Pak driver that wins in the NHRA Factory Stock Showdown or NMCA Factory Super Cars categories. The $10,000 purse is the largest available contingency award from a manufacturer in either class.

With 19 competitors entered in the Factory Super Cars class, Pawuk laid down a solid qualifying effort with a 7.898-second run at over 178 mph to land him in the number six qualifying spot. With the field set for eliminations, Pawuk’s Challenger mowed down the competition with a string of consistent passes on his way to the finals to face opponent Jeff Bragg. At the flash of the tree, Pawuk’s Challenger Drag Pak left first and never looked backed as he ran a mind-numbing 7.80-second pass at 177.67 mph in the heat of the day to Bragg’s losing 8.20-second run.

Race Wrap | 2022 NMCA Muscle Car Mayhem Presented by Holbrook Racing Engines – Bradenton

Bradenton, FL – The sun put the spotlight on commanding competition at the NMCA Muscle Car Mayhem presented by Holbrook Racing Engines, March 17-20, 2022 at Bradenton Motorsports Park in Florida.

The first of six events on this year’s Red Line Oil NMCA Muscle Car Nationals tour excited every step of the way, as racers went all-out with their sights set on the NMCA Winner’s Circle and alluring Victor awards.

Most VP Racing Lubricants Xtreme Pro Mod racers recorded 3.60s and 3.70s in incredibly intense qualifying sessions, and among them was Robert Abbott. He rocketed to a 3.66 in his Camaro to earn the top spot. Though Abbott made it to the final round of eliminations, Scott Wildgust wheeled to the holeshot win with a 3.71 against Abbott’s 3.67.

All 19 Holley EFI Factory Super Cars racers were flying, including Jim Betz, who set the pace in qualifying with a 7.79 in his Mustang Cobra Jet, but the final round featured Mark Pawuk and Jeff Bragg. Pawuk went to the NMCA Winner’s Circle with a 7.80 in his Challenger against Bragg’s 8.20 in his COPO Camaro.

Mickey Thompson Returns as NMRA, NMCA Major Sponsor

The Mickey Thompson Tires Grudge Test & Tune is designed for those looking to run at certain NMRA events but don’t necessarily fit into one of the heads-up or index categories. Vehicles must be a Ford Motor Company body and powered by a Ford-based powerplant. It’s that simple!

The first Grudge Test & Tune event is the Spring Break Shootout March 4-6 at Bradenton Motorsports Park in Bradenton, Florida. The category makes its second appearance during the Ford Performance Nationals June 9-12 at Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio. The NMRA World Finals Sept. 29-Oct. 2 at Beech Bend Raceway in Bowling Green, Kentucky, is the final host of the Grudge Test & Tune.

2021 NMCA Season Ends with Extreme Eye-popping Racing at Lucas Oil Raceway

Indianapolis – Despite hurdles and hindrances along the way, racers were resilient and resourceful from the first through the final event of the season, the 20th Annual NMCA World Street Finals presented by Chevrolet Performance, Sept. 23-26, 2021 at Lucas Oil Raceway in Indiana.

They hung tough in the Hoosier State while chasing points and championships, and they charmed and captivated the countless supporters who stood by them through thick and thin.

Fifteen VP Racing Lubricants Xtreme Pro Mod racers showed up with their eyes on the enticing NMCA Winner’s Circle and  Edelbrock Victor Awards. Among them was Ken Quartuccio, who set the pace in qualifying with a sizzling 3.66 in his Camaro. Quartuccio took out some serious competition on his way to the final round of eliminations to face Craig Sullivan and his “El Mero Mero” 1949 Mercury. It was an incredibly tight race, with Sullivan stopping the clocks at 3.691 at 202 mph and Quartuccio stopping the clocks at 3.697 at 197 mph, and Sullivan locked up his second VP Racing Lubricants Xtreme Pro Mod win in the car he just debuted in July.

2022 NMCA Muscle Car Nationals Event Schedule

The NMCA Muscle Car Nationals races into 2022 with six national events held at legendary motorsport facilities. The NMCA Muscle Car Nationals is home to thousands of vintage and modern vehicles participating across championship drag racing, street-legal competition, and car show arenas.

“The season isn’t even over yet and we are ready for the 2022 NMCA Muscle Car Nationals season with contracts in-hand to all six national event facilities. We were happy to get somewhat back to normal business in 2021 and next year will be an extension of our successes. Rockingham Dragway is new for 2022, as it becomes the home of the NMRA/NMCA All-Star Nationals. The facilities are top-notch, allowing our racers to compete at high levels and offer a pleasurable fan experience,” said Rollie Miller, National Event Director and General Manager of the NMCA Muscle Car Nationals.
