Cinderella’s Keifer Joins Throttle Fest
Legendary frontman and guitarist to headline Friday night lineup
MILLINGTON, TN – The band lineup for Throttle Fest Memphis powered by Fun Ford Series has been finalized and 
Tom Keifer of Cinderella will headline on Friday night August 28 to complement Jackyl serving as the star attraction on Saturday night August 29 at Memphis International Raceway (MIR).
“Memphis is a city with such amazing music history and has always been one of my favorite places to play,” Keifer said. “It’s been a while since I’ve played there and I can’t think of a better way to come back. Throttle Fest combined with the rock fans of Memphis will be nothing short of a killer event! The band and I are so looking forward to rocking with you all!”
Keifer has fronted Cinderella since its inception and has toured with the band around the world supporting its four studio albums and several live and “best of” releases.
Billes Ready for Anything
Pro Extreme crew chief has two cars at top of PDRA standings
MILLINGTON, TN – At first glance, racing in the Mid-South in the middle of August might present its own unique 
set of challenges but for Al Billes, a crew chief with NAS Racing in the Professional Drag Racers Association, there’s not much he hasn’t encountered before.
Billes and key members of his crew have raced around with world with a variety of racing series in every set of conditions imaginable, so summertime at Memphis International Raceway during the PDRA Memphis Drags is nothing to lose sleep over.
“It’s been hot everywhere we’ve gone this year,” Billes said. “There’s been high heat and high humidity all over the place this summer. This weekend is going to more of what we’re used to running on this year.

Dart’s Carts Joins MIR Team
Company will be official golf cart supplier and sponsor golf cart races
MILLINGTON, TN – Dart’s Carts of Jackson, Tenn., has signed on to become the official golf cart supplier of 
Memphis International Raceway (MIR).

Boosted GT Joins Memphis Drags
Injured Daddy Dave won’t race, will still greet fans at PDRA event
MILLINGTON, TN – When the Professional Drag Racing Association rolls up to Memphis International Raceway 
(MIR) on August 20-22 for the Memphis Drags, it will be bringing an extra star of the show “Street Outlaws” with it.
The driver Boosted and his yellow Mustang will now race fellow “Street Outlaws” star Chuck three times during Saturday night’s racing.
Boosted GT will take the place of Daddy Dave in the match race scheduled at the PDRA Memphis Drags.
Daddy Dave was originally scheduled for the match race with Chuck, but Dave suffered injuries and significantly damaged his car at an exhibition earlier in the month. Dave is now on the mend and still plans to be at the Memphis Drags to meet with fans and sign autographs.
Elam Doubles Up at Ironman Classic
Driver sweeps two classes to earn IHRA’s signature trophies for first time
MILLINGTON, TN – A weekend of Summit Bracket Racing Series presented by COMP Cams racing at Memphis 
International Raceway (MIR) was capped by Sunday’s IHRA Ironman Classic and David Elam’s big afternoon.
Elam has a lot of trophies in his collection, but he’d never won an Ironman. Elam filled that hole in his collection on Sunday and brought home a spare after winning both B&B Towing Footbrake and the RT Turbines DOT Street races.
“I’ve always wanted one of these,” Elam said in the MIR Winner’s Circle. “Now I have two. One for the house and one for the shop.” David Elam won his first two IHRA Ironman trophies at Sunday’s Ironman Classic.

MILLINGTON, TN – Memphis International Raceway (MIR) welcomes The Crutcher Insurance Group of Collierville 
as the official car show sponsor for the August 28-29 Throttle Fest Memphis powered by Fun Ford Series featuring FocusFest. The Crutcher Insurance Group represents Nationwide Insurance, which offers a full line of products such as car, home, business and life insurance.
They also represent Hagerty Insurance, which specializes in insuring classic cars, race cars and other vintage vehicles.
MIR Changes Start Time for Bracket Race
Sunday’s racing will get going early in effort to beat the heat
MILLINGTON, TN – In an effort to help combat the forecast temperatures that are expected to soar this weekend, 
Memphis International Raceway (MIR) has moved the start time of Sunday’s Summit Bracket Racing Series presented by COMP Cams race.
In an effort to avoid the heat of the day on Sunday, MIR will start its racing in the Summit Bracket Racing Series presented by COMP Cams at 8:30 a.m.
Gates for Sunday will open at 7 a.m. with church service at 7:30 a.m. and time trials starting at 8:30 a.m. Bracket cars will get one time trial and the 6.0 and 7.0 classes will get two qualifying passes before eliminations begin.
Ironman Classic Set for This Weekend

MILLINGTON, TN – This weekend’s Summit Bracket Racing Series presented by COMP Cams events scheduled for 
Saturday, August 8 and Sunday, August 9 at Memphis International Raceway are getting tweaked to make the racing as competitive as possible for some of the specialty classes.
On Sunday, racers will get the chance to win their very own Ironman trophy at the Summit Bracket Racing Series presented by COMP Cams. It’s part of a full weekend of bracket racing at Memphis International Raceway.
The 2nd Hand Power Stock/Superstock Combo races originally scheduled for this weekend will now be folded in as part of the weekend of the Great American Bracket Race on Sept. 12-13. To take the stockers’ place, the 6.0 and 7.0 classes will be running this weekend.
Mega Mopar Action Weekend Arrives
Plenty of fun for lovers of Hemi horsepower and other cars
MILINGTON, TN – Mega Mopar Action Series weekend has arrived at Memphis International Raceway and there is 
plenty in store for car lovers of all makes and models.
The all-Mopar drag racing is just the tip of the iceberg for the activities scheduled for the Mega Mopar Action Series on Saturday. “There will be a lot of variety this weekend,” said MIR VP and GM Pam Kendrick. “Although Mopars will be in the spotlight, it’s by no means a weekend limited to just those cars. There’s something for everyone to enjoy this weekend.”
It all gets started tonight at Midnight Madness and continues through the day on Saturday, August 1.
Nostalgia Cars Ready for Mega Mopar
Mid Central Fuel Altereds set to entertain fans this weekend
MILLINGTON, TN – Some of the region’s best nostalgia drag cars will gather during the Mega Mopar Action Series’ 
August 1 at Memphis International Raceway (MIR).
‘Southern Pride’ is one of the eight nostalgia cars that will take to the track during the Mega Mopar Action Series on Saturday, August 1 at MIR. The Mid Central Fuel Altereds take to the track as part of the Mega Mopar lineup. The eight cars in the field will race three times during Saturday’s program.
“These cars take you back to the golden age of drag racing,” said MIR Director of Operations Paul Cartwright. “Each of these cars have their own look and personality on the track. To see them race is a real treat and a chance to take a look back at the kind of cars that started a lot of love affairs with drag racing.”
