Arana gets redemption in Norwalk eliminations
NORWALK, OH – Making his first semifinal appearance since Epping, N.H., this year, Pro Stock Motorcycle rider Adam Arana
showed there is no reason for concern with his performance during the Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals, Sunday, in Norwalk.
The ProtectTheHarvest.com/MAVTV Buell rider cut stellar reaction times all day, beating all three of the competitors he faced off the line.
In his third time meeting Matt Smith in the first round this season, Arana cut a .048 light and coupled it with a 6.913-second pass at 194.30 mph to outrun Smith’s 6.911 at 193.96 mph.
Norwalk provides needed redemption for Arana
NORWALK, OH – After a disappointing weekend in Chicago, Pro Stock Motorcycle rider Adam Arana showed no waiver during
qualifying for the Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals, Saturday, at Summit Motorsports Park.
Still needing to lock himself into the field Saturday, the ProtectTheHarvest.com/MAVTV Buell rider went down the track in Q3 to his best time of the weekend, a 6.912 at 196.07 mph, landing him in the No. 9 spot.
“The end of qualifying Friday was really frustrating for me,” Arana said. “I was confident though that we would get a hold of it when we got back to the track Saturday. It just takes time to get the bike really running like it should be. Now that everyone in the class is running so well, you need to be perfect all the time in order to not only get in the field but on top.
Arana motivated for solid performance in Norwalk
NORWALK, OH – ProtectTheHarvest.com/MAVTV rider Adam Arana knows he has the potential to win NHRA Pro Stock
Motorcycle races, and he is more motivated than ever to get a victory.
Last weekend in Chicago, Arana watched as his brother Hector Jr. beat his father Hector Sr. in the final round a day after Adam failed to qualify for the race due to a myriad of issues.
But Arana is pumped up about racing in the Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals this weekend at Summit Motorsports Park.
“It was really disappointing that I didn’t qualify in Chicago,” Arana said. “We didn’t get the opportunity to test before Norwalk, but we got together as a team and have some good ideas based on my dad and my brother’s performance in Chicago. Hopefully, we can go from there and improve.”
The DNQ in Chicago was Arana’s first of his career after making 21 consecutive races, including all during his rookie season. Not even Hector Jr., the 2011 NHRA rookie of the year, could claim the same statistic.
Arana vows to bounce back after Chicago disappointment
CHICAGO, IL – A disappointed Adam Arana vows to bounce back quickly after failing to qualify for the O’Reilly Auto Parts Route 66
NHRA Nationals on Saturday at Route 66 Raceway.
For the first time in his Pro Stock Motorcycle career, the 22-year-old couldn’t make it into the 16-bike field after a myriad of issues hampered him in qualifying.
But Arana promises to get his ProtectTheHarvest.com/MAVTV Buell running better, and he’ll test here Monday in an effort to get a better tune-up.
“The only way we’re going to fix our issues is to be able to make runs down the track,” Arana said. “We’re going to stay on Monday and test, and we’re going to stay until we get it figured out.”
Chicago could be turning point for Arana’s season
CHICAGO, IL – In only his sophomore year, Pro Stock Motorcycle rider Adam Arana has continued to make progress during the
2014 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series season and hopes to score his first win at the O’Reilly Auto Parts Route 66 NHRA Nationals, June 26-29, at Route 66 Raceway in Chicago, Ill.
After a productive weekend in Epping, N.H., the ProtectTheHarvest.com/MAVTV Buell is almost at the level it needs to be to become competitive every single week.
“I expect to have my tune-up right by this weekend,” Arana said. “I know once I get my tune-up right, the motor will run even better.
Youngest Arana’s luck runs out in second round in Epping
EPPING, NH – Despite mechanical issues, Pro Stock Motorcycle rider Adam Arana made it to the second round of the Auto-Plus
NHRA New England Nationals, Sunday, at New England Dragway.
In the first round of eliminations, Arana, who qualified 11th on his ProtectTheHarvest.com/MAVTV Buell, faced No. 6 seed Michael Ray. Arana recorded a pass of 6.995 at 193.85 mph after Ray red-lighted, sending Arana into the second round.
“I definitely got lucky in the first round,” Arana said. “I like Michael and it sucks that he red-lit, but racing’s racing and I’m glad for the win. I’m glad that this ProtectTheHarvest.com/MAVTV bike went forward. I just wish we could have had a little bit more luck in the second round.”
Arana shakes off the pressure, puts ProtectTheHarvest.com Buell in field
ENGLISHTOWN, NJ – The best athletes perform at their best under pressure.
Before the final qualifying session of the Toyota NHRA Summernationals on Saturday at Old Bridge Township Raceway Park, ProtectTheHarvest.com Pro Stock Motorcycle rider Adam Arana found himself outside the top 16, but then Arana sped down the track with a pass of 6.880 seconds at 193.88 mph to bump his way into the field.
“Nobody likes not being qualified, but I have 100 percent confidence in our team, in my crew chief Louie (Lubliner), my dad, Hector Jr., Dan Gonzalez, and everyone who helps out,” Arana said. “I wasn’t worried that I wouldn’t make it into the show. My worst fear was that we wouldn’t make a stellar run.”
Arana felt no pressure as he sat on the bike underneath the tower before his final run. All he wanted to do was make a good pass.
Arana looking for repeat success in Englishtown
ENGLISHTOWN, NJ- Englishtown brought early success to Pro Stock Motorcycle rider Adam Arana last year, and after a successful
weekend in Atlanta he is ready to ride the momentum into this weekend’s Toyota NHRA Summernationals, May 29-June 1, at Old Bridge Township Raceway Park.
The ProtectTheHarvest.com/MAVTV Buell rider reached the second round for the first time this season in Atlanta, and now Arana is returning to the track where he secured his first career round-win after only four starts during his rookie year.
“It brings back good memories returning to Englishtown because I was able to get the first round-win of my career there,” Arana said. “That’s where it all started for me that season. Now that I’m in my second season and have already gotten a round-win, I hope to continue the momentum.
