Janis to Run VP Race Fuels Exclusively in 2011

Elma, NY – Things have been moving at a fast pace as of late for the Elma, NY based Mike Janis Racing Team. Now they’ll get a bit faster with the help of VP Racing Fuels.
Mike Janis and his Mike Janis Racing teams have agreed to run VP race Fuels in both team cars this season. Team owner/driver Mike Janis is an engine builder by trade and understands the benefits of quality fuel. “We’ve tested other fuels on our Dyno at Jan-Cen Motorsports and have seen that overall, VP fuels burn cleaner and cooler and offer significant performance gains. It’s a no brainer as to what I want in my race cars,” said Janis.
VP’s Eastern Regional Manager, Jim Kelly spearheaded the effort of bringing Janis into the fold at VP. “Mike Janis has been huge in drag racing in North American for as long as I can remember. We appreciate the fact that he’s chosen to run VP products again in 2011. I always knew he was a smart man,” said a happy Kelly.
Two-Car Team of Hossler, Todd Looking Forward To 2011 ADRL Season

O’FALLON, MO – While he did not race a year ago, J.R. Todd spent plenty of time at American Drag Racing League (ADRL) events in 2010.
One of his usual stops was the pit of Pro Extreme driver Alex Hossler, where the duo talked, hung out and quickly became good friends.
That friendship turned into a partnership as they now form a two-car Pro Extreme team headed by Rob Flynn, Mike Guger and Al-Anabi Racing.
As teammates, the relationship has been just as fruitful and each has made quite an impact in the Arabian Drag Racing League, winning a combined three races. Todd, a former Top Fuel standout in the NHRA, has proven to be quick-learner in his stunning ’57 Chevy, winning two races, while Hossler won the latest race at Qatar Racing Club (QRC).

ADRL Releases New Rainout Policy To Go Into Effect For 2011 Tour

O’FALLON, MO – The American Drag Racing League (ADRL) has announced that it will implement a new rainout 
policy, which will go in effect with the first race of the 2011 season.
Adverse weather conditions are an unfortunate hardship on all involved in the sport and the ADRL appreciates the continued cooperation and support of all participants, tracks, sponsors and fans during the implementation of this new policy.
In the event of rain or other adverse conditions that delay or cause an event cancellation, the following new policies will now go into effect:
ADRL Adds Ford Safety Truck and Staff For 2011 Season

O’FALLON, MO – The American Drag Racing League (ADRL) is excited to announce the development of a new track safety program that includes a fully-customized, state-of-the-art safety truck, a full contingent of emergency 
equipment and the addition of two new safety technicians for the 2011 season.
Working closely with Ford, The Official Vehicle of the ADRL, the world’s top eighth-mile drag racing league will innovatively utilize a new Ford F-150 two-wheel drive extended cab with a short bed (6-foot), all powered by the new award-wining EcoBoost engine, for use during the 2011 ADRL Tour, which begins March 25-26 at Royal Purple Raceway in Baytown, Texas.
The high-tech Ford truck will be equipped with a full array of track safety gear, ensuring that the ADRL will have the top and latest safety equipment available in order to provide the utmost security to the ADRL’s drivers and teams.
Bankston Boyz Racing Adds Janes As New Member

TERRY, MS – Bankston Boyz Racing has been busier than ever during the off-season and that leaves the team more 
excited than ever for the 2011 American Drag Racing League (ADRL) season.
They are thrilled to announce the addition of David Janes to the team, as well as the debut of a new Pro Nitrous car for Bankston Racing veteran Stan Allen.
Janes, a longtime standout both as a chassis builder and a driver, will drive the ’68 Speedtech Camaro Allen drove to a top-8 finish in PN a year ago. Allen, meanwhile will now be behind the wheel of a brand-new lightweight ’69 Camaro, courtesy of David Janes Race Cars. That car is scheduled to go into the paint shop this week.
Makenna wins National Trail Raceway JR Dragster Rookie of the Year
Hebron, OH – Makenna Brown, the granddaughter of Jeg Coughlin Sr. and his wife Sue, raced less than half a season in 
the Division 3 Junior Dragster series, but she did enough to garner Rookie of the Year honors, following the legacy set out by the famous Coughlin racing clan.
Brown established herself at her first event, racing a yellow-and-black JEGS-themed rail to victory at her home track of National Trail Raceway near Columbus, Ohio. She repeated the feat a month later in her first Division 3 event — the Buckeye Fuel Wars — with another trip to the Winner’s Circle.
She later added a runner-up result to her ledger and cut a perfect .500 light at Kil-kare Dragway in early October. Overall, after racing in just seven of 15 points meets, Brown finished the year in eighth place.
Mike Janis’ New ADRL Ride Coming out of Andy McCoy Race Cars

Mooresville, NC – Mike Janis, who competed on the ADRL tour in 2009, taking two wins, will return to ADRL Competition in 2011 at the wheel of an Andy McCoy Race Cars 1970 Plymouth Duster. The AMRC Duster will be
propelled by the newly designed Alan Johnson Performance Engineering 5300 Hemi.
“Our association with AJPE has afforded us the opportunity to partner with several new people and companies. One such example is Andy McCoy of Andy McCoy Race Cars. Andy’s progressive ideas about chassis design will help us with this new venture. We will campaign the AMRC 70 Duster for the 2011 ADRL season utilizing many of Andy’s latest technologies,” said Crew Chief Mike Janis Jr.
