O’FALLON, MO (Sep. 2, 2009) — With just one last chance at gaining points toward finishing in the top eight and qualifying for the post-season 2009 Speedtech Battle for the Belts, every point gained—or missed—Sep. 11-12, at Flowmaster Dragstock VI in Rockingham, NC, could define the outcome for certain National Guard American Drag Racing League (ADRL) teams.

The Speedtech Battle for the Belts will pit the top eight points earners in each of the National Guard ADRL’s five professional classes—Pro Extreme, Pro Nitrous, Flowmaster Extreme 10.5, Pro Extreme Motorcycle and Extreme Pro Stock—against each other in a unique, championship-deciding, elimination-rounds playoff during qualifying on the first day of the LenMar Motorsports ADRL World Finals V, Oct. 23-24, at the Texas Motorplex, near Dallas.  O’FALLON, MO (August 13, 2009) — National Guard American Drag Racing League (ADRL) Executive Vice President of Competition Bert Corzine today announced changes to the series’ national-event weekend schedule, beginning Aug. 21-22, at the ADRL Summit Racing Equipment Ohio Drags III in Hebron, Ohio, near Columbus.

Most significant to National Guard ADRL race teams and fans is the addition of a fourth official qualifying session for all five professional classes. The long-standing open test session has been eliminated from the ADRL national-event program in favor of three official qualifying opportunities on Friday, with a single, last-chance qualifying session starting at noon on Saturday, followed by a brief pre-race ceremony and elimination rounds. O’FALLON, MO (Aug. 4, 2009) — Pro Nitrous driver Tim Savell looked out at close to 200 National Guard ADRL fans waiting in line during the recently completed ADRL NATIONALGUARD.com U.S. Drags II at Virginia Motorsports Park and it warmed his heart. Not because the thermometer was reading above 95 degrees, but because knowing those fans would wait in that heat for his autograph helped ease the sting of not qualifying to race in eliminations. O’FALLON, MO (Aug. 3, 2009) — For several weeks now, residents of Boys and Girls Town of Missouri have been earning the opportunity to attend the ADRL Hardee’s Gateway Drags II at Gateway International Raceway, just across the Mississippi River from downtown St. Louis.

O’FALLON, MO (June 30, 2009) –The National Guard American Drag Racing League (ADRL) announced today several rule clarifications related to the use of superchargers in its Pro Extreme and Extreme 10.5 classes.

• Use of any size centrifugal, roots-type or screw-type supercharger allowed.
• Maximum overdrive for a roots-type supercharger is 1.70 (70 percent over). 
•  Maximum overdrive for a PSI screw-type supercharger is 2.28 (128 percent over). 
•  Maximum overdrive for a Whipple screw-type supercharger is 1.60 (60 percent over). 
•  All screw-type superchargers must be certified to SFI Spec 34.1 and overdrive limit established to be eligible for ADRL competition. 
•  Any new screw-type supercharger must be approved for competition prior to competing at an ADRL event. 
•  All screw-type superchargers must display a current SFI Recertification tag. 

“We haven’t had a problem in this area, but these rules are intended to stave off any issues before they arise,” National Guard ADRL Executive Vice President of Competition Bubba Corzine explained. “We just want to put it in writing and make sure that all of our race teams know where we stand in regard to these power enhancers.”
