Tim Tindle Joins Danny Rowe Racing
LAGUNA HILLS, CA – Perennial NHRA Pro Mod Drag Racing Series frontrunner and championship contender Danny Rowe has a new teammate. Tim Tindle, who competed for five seasons in the NHRA Pro Mod series himself and currently competes in the X-treme Drag Racing League’s outlaw supercharger division, Pro X-treme, will be joining Danny Rowe in a two-car venture for the remainder of 2013. Both drivers will field Agave Underground Tequila-backed supercharged Pro Modified Camaros with world renowned crew chief Jimmy Rector handling the tuning duties on both entries.
“Obviously, we’re very excited about Tim and his family joining our team,” said Rowe, who is currently tied for 4th in the NHRA Pro Mod Series points. “We’re thrilled to have the opportunity to field two cars here in this ultra-competitive Pro Mod category and, honestly, happy to have a guy like Tim joining our team. We’re both family-oriented guys and I think the Tindle Family will fit right in with us. We’re definitely looking forward to Norwalk.”
Tindle, who has been racing Pro Modified since 2005, earned 2007 AMS ProMod Challenge Rookie of the Year honors following a season that saw him win the ProCare RX Supernationals at Old Bridge Township Raceway Park in Englishtown, New Jersey, as well as the NHRA Pro Mod Clash in Las Vegas, Nevada. In 2009, Tindle scored victories at both the NHRA Summer Nationals in Topeka, Kansas, and the IHRA Spring Nationals in Rockingham, North Carolina.
PAT MUSI RACING ENGINES ADRL SUMMER DRAGS IX PREVIEW
MARTIN, MI – Since relocating his home and business from Carteret, NJ to Mooresville, NC, Pat Musi has been able to spend more time at the track and in the dyno room. If the recent performances of racers using his engines and components are any indication, that extra time is paying big dividends.
Longtime Virginia campaigner Tommy Franklin scored a huge win at the Extreme Outlaw Pro Mod race at Virginia Motorsports Park on May 19 in his unmistakable green ’69 Camaro, which is motivated by a Musi 903 EFI engine. That same weekend on the opposite side of the country, Joe Lepone Jr. took the Pro Street crown at the NMCA West Coast Shootout at Auto Club Raceway in Pomona, CA, driving Derrol Hubbard’s Musi 903 EFI-powered Plymouth Duster.

Schumacher holds top spot in Top Fuel, track speed record helps Hagan to No. 2 spot at Route 66
JOLIET, IL – Tony Schumacher followed the path of his favorite hockey team, the Stanley Cup winning Chicago Blackhawks, by earning the provisional pole Friday night in the Route 66 NHRA Nationals in his hometown.
The hockey team held its celebratory parade in downtown Chicago on Friday afternoon, and several hours later Schumacher held his own parade … a much quicker one.
Schumacher, the seven-time NHRA Mello Yello Top Fuel world champion, holds the pole heading to Saturday’s last two qualifying sessions before Sunday’s championship eliminations, and Don Schumacher Racing teammate Matt Hagan drove to the provisional No. 2 spot in Funny Car.
JOHN FORCE CONTINUES HOT STREAK IN CHICAGO
JOLIET, IL – For the second race in a row John Force was the best of the field on Friday in Funny Car. With only one qualifying session contested today due to the threat of inclement weather Force powered his Castrol GTX Ford Mustang Funny Car to the top spot with a 4.035 second run. He had to wait for a number of top contenders to run and the closest Funny car to the 15-time champ at the end of the night was Matt Hagan’s 4.040 seconds.
“You are racing here in Chicago and you have killer conditions and a killer race track. Everybody stepped on them after Chad Head put up that great number 4.05. Everybody knew it was out there. (Crew chief) Mike Neff does a great job and he has a great job around him,” said Force, who could clinch his third No. 1 of the season tomorrow.
