The third stop on the schedule comes just two weeks after Medford and it will be at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, California during the NHRA Division 7 event. Firebaugh, Ca – Jay Diedrich was torn earlier in the season when he saw that the final West Coast Outlaw Pro Mod Association event and the final West Coast Hot Rod Association event were booked on the same weekend. Diedrich
has been a big contender and supporter this 2010 season with both the WCOPMA and in the WCHRA’s Pro Street class. So to him, only one thing was to be done, figure out a way to attend both events and support both associations.
Diedrich has his eye on second place in points with both associations. Bret Williamson wrapped up the number 1 spot with the West Coast Outlaw Pro Mods and Randy Walker will be leaving the big number 1 on his windshield for the WCHRA’s Pro Street class as he wrapped up the top spot for the 2010 season.
Diedrich only has 1 person to get around in the West Coast Outlaw Pro Mod points standings and 2 people to get by in the West Coast Hot Rod Association’s Pro Street class.

Sacramento, Ca – The Don Carter Motorsports team, with Bret Williamson driving the ’53 Studebaker, wrapped up
the 2010 West Coast Outlaw Pro Mod Associations (WCOPMA) points championship with their win last weekend at Bandimere Speedway during the Super Chevy Show event, an event the WCOPMA was booked in to headline for Bandimere Speedway.
Going into the Denver event, all that was needed for the team was for Williamson to qualify anywhere in the 8-car field and the championship was theirs…but like the team has done all season long they were set to run hard and not take it “easy” with a main goal to make it to yet another final round and win another event this 2010 season.

Morrison, CO – Jay Diedrich left his mark in Morrison, Colorado at Bandimere Speedway with a huge 237.09 speed in
the final qualifying session Saturday night for the West Coast Outlaw Pro Mod Association while headlining at a Super Chevy Show event. The speed isn’t very fast compared to his quickest ever 249 MPH shot earlier this year at Sacramento, but considering it was made at “the mile high raceway” with a corrected elevation of 8,800 feet it starts to pack more of a punch.
In testing on Friday Diedrich was making laps of high 6.20’s to low 6.30’s at over 230 MPH all day. On Saturday’s first qualifying session, the “Evil Outlaw” 1957 Chevy broke the blower belt as soon as the clutch pedal was released which would make Jay have to wait for the second session to come around to secure a spot in the 8-car qualified field.
West Coast Outlaw Pro Mods “Western Swing”

The West Coast Outlaw Pro Mod Association recently completed their version of a “Western Swing”. With back to
back racing weekends starting at the 39th annual Nightfire Nationals in Boise Idaho and ending the following weekend in Denver Colorado at Bandimere Speedway for the Super Chevy Show, these two shows rocked the house to say the least.
The WCOPMA for the first time made an appearance at the Nightfire Nationals in Boise Idaho and showed how it is done “Outlaw” style. During the first qualifying session track records were broken, the quickest side by side Pro Mod pass and the quickest Pro Mod ET pass were recorded, and that was just the beginning.
There were 12 cars competing for the 8 car field. When the field was set, Bret Williamson in his 53’ Studebaker was sitting at #1 with a 6.09. #2 qualifier was John Scialpi 6.17, #3, Randy Kay 6.18, #4 Rod Burbage 6.18, #5 Jay Diedrich 6.26, #6, Dennis Radford 6.29, #7 Marc Meadors 6.33 and #8 was Dan Myers 6.47 Those not making the field Rod Pearce, Garrett Richards, Greg Carlile, and Billy Harper. This was the quickest 8 car field for both the association and for Firebird Raceway for Pro Mods.

Boise, ID – The Don Carter Motorsports team had a great weekend of racing at one of the biggest events on the West Coast, Firebird Raceway’s 39th annual Nightfire Nationals event.
For everyone on the team this was their first trip to Firebird Raceway in Boise, Idaho and they were all blown away with the quality of race track the New family runs, both on and off the racing surface. When talking to the team members many stated it was one of the greatest events they have ever attended, the win was just icing on the cake for them.
Driver, Bret Williamson, set the bar high his first time down the track in round 1 of qualifying when running a 6.21 taking the top qualifying spot. The team opted out of running the second qualifying session and was bumped down to the number 3 spot as John Scialpi ran a 6.17 and Randy Kay ran a 6.18. In the third and final session Bret blasted down Firebird Raceway’s quarter-mile in 6.09 seconds, easily setting a new Pro Mod track record and placing an 8-hundreths of a second gap between him and the number 2 qualifier (Scialpi at 6.17)!

Firebaugh, Ca – This upcoming weekend, Jay Diedrich and his Evil Outlaw 1957 Chevy will roll into Firebird Raceway
in Boise, Idaho for the 39th annual Nightfire Nationals while running with the West Coast Outlaw Pro Mod Association. The Nightfire event is by far one of the biggest events on the West Coast and this will mark the first year the WCOPMA has run at the event.
Diedrich is starting to find the consistency needed to win races, his quick ET’s and fast MPH have been with him all season but consistency was lacking in the beginning. After winning his first pro mod event last month and running a career best ET at 6.11 he is more than ready to take on the best of the best on the West Coast in Boise.

Sacramento, Ca – Bret Williamson, driving the Don Carter Motorsports 53 Studebaker, is looking to keep his top spot
in the West Coast Outlaw Pro Mod Association point’s standings after Boise. With a pretty big 81-point lead (3 rounds) over number 2 in points, Jay Diedrich, all Bret needs to do is qualify for the 8-car field this weekend in Boise and he will have his spot secured.
Of course the Don Carter Motorsports team is looking to do more than just qualify in Boise, they want to make it 4-for-4 in final round appearances this year running with the WCOPMA as they have had 1 event win and 2 runner-up’s in the first 3 events this season.
Next up for Dan Myers Racing: Boise’s “Nightfire Nationals”
