TNT Super Series returns to Lancaster Dragway this Friday Night

Dataclutch Data Acquisition presents RACE 5 in the 10 race season!

LANCASTER, NY – After a month off, the Joe’s Transmission TNT Super Series will get back on track this Friday July Dataclutch15 at Lancaster Dragway. The most popular sportsman series in the country will be part of the Nitro Night of Fire at the western New York facility.

Presented by Dataclutch Data Aquisition Recorders, this weekend’s race marks the midpoint of the TNTSS season. Racer turnout is always strong, especially in the heat of the summer at Lancaster. “We have had some of our best car counts mid-summer at Lancaster’s 1/8th mile,” said Ted Barnes. “I wouldn’t be surprised to see 35 or even 40 cars on Friday.”

Mark Herbold and Pete D’Agnolo – Memorial Day Weekend TNT Super Series Winners

Over 30 cars both days thanks to Steve’s Electric!!!

NEW YORK – For the second weekend in a row, the Joe’s Transmission TNT Super Series was on track, this time on TNT Hot Rod winner Mark Herboldthe American side. Mark Herbold from Elma, New York took home $1000 from the 34 car field on Friday at Lancaster Dragway then Rochester’s Pete D’Agnolo pocketed $1000 on Saturday at Empire Dragway. Steve’s Electric powered the guaranteed payout all weekend while Jim Thomson from Niagara Falls, Ontario took over the championship points lead.

With temps in the upper 80’s, 34 teams descended on Lancaster this past Friday for race #3 of the 10 race season. Dave Gunn from Hamilton, Ontario took the Hoosier Tire Canada #1 Qualifier Award with a 7.006 hit and Mark Herbold out of Elma, New York landed in the winner’s circle after six rounds of competition.

TNT Super Series Memorial Day Weekend – TWO Races – $1000 to Win Both Days

Steve’s Electric continues annual tradition and guarantees the $1000 payouts!

NEW YORK – The second double weekend in the 2016 Joe’s Transmission TNT Super Series is here this weekend TNTSS-300pxMay 27-28. Friday at Lancaster Dragway and Saturday at Empire Dragway where both events will pay a guaranteed $1000 to the winners.

Billy Ryan and Dave Gunn – TNT Super Series Winners at Cayuga

First time TNTSS win for both drivers gets them into the REVS Full Throttle Powersports Race of Champions!

CAYUGA, ON – This past weekend saw a terrific show in the opening rounds of the 2016 Joe’s Transmission TNT Billy RyanSuper Series. Billy Ryan from Marion, New York and Dave Gunn from Hamilton, Ontario each took their first win in the extremely popular sportsman series. Jan-Cen Motorsports support helped draw 27 cars into the water box for round one.

The Hoosier Tire Canada #1 Qualifier Award went to Art Jones who posted a 10.903 to nail top spot. Jones then marched through the field to the final where he faced Billy Ryan.

Ryan’s trip to the final saw him defeat Dave Gunn in round one where his .004 tree made easy work. Tom Reed went red to him in round two and in round three, Ryan took .005 at the stripe to put Alex Lepp in the trailer.

TNT Super Series Kicks Off Tenth Season with Two Races this Weekend at Toronto Motorsports Park

CAYUGA, ON – The Joe’s Transmission TNT Super Series opens the season with a double header this weekend May TNTSS-300px21-22 at Toronto Motorsports Park in Cayuga Ontario. In its 10th season, the highly competitive sportsman drag racing series will host a complete event on Saturday and another on Sunday.

Jan-Cen Motorsports presents the weekend’s events and Mike Janis couldn’t be more excited to be involved. “This series is a very good deal for the racers. It produces a lot of really good racers and many of them use our stuff.” Jan-Cen has been supporting the TNTSS since the early days of the series and is a great fit according to series director Ted Barnes. “We’re thrilled to have Jan-Cen presenting our season opener!”

TNT Super Series Releases 2016 Schedule – TENTH SEASON

TENTH season will see TEN races for the championship!

NIAGARA FALLS, ON – The Joe’s Transmission TNT Super Series has released its 2016 schedule and will once again TNTSS-300pxhost events in both southern Ontario and western New York. Ten points races plus the REVS Full Throttle Powersports RACE OF CHAMPIONS will make up the tenth season of the highly competitive sportsman drag racing series.

The TNTSS continues to offer .90 class racers one of the best payout structures in the industry – just like it always has – along with specialty awards and contingency postings at every race.

TNT Super Series to pay $5000 to win at Empire this August

Record payout is GUARANTEED with NO MINIMUM CAR COUNT!

NIAGARA FALLS, ON – In an effort to do something memorable for its tenth season and to give sportsman racers a TNTSS - Bonanzabigger weekend at Empire Dragway, the Joe’s Transmission TNT Super Series is holding the $5000 Bonanza on the Friday evening before the IHRA Summit Pro-Am Tour at the Western New York race track. Total purse is over $8000 in cash and prizes.

Series promoter Ted Barnes elaborated, “When Joe Boniferro came to me with the idea I thought it was great. It gives racers even more of a reason to come to Empire for the Pro-Am.”

There will be no minimum car count to guarantee the $5000 for the winner and racers don’t have to pay a series registration fee… even though the event is a round of the Joe’s Transmission TNT Super Series. Open-bodied, left-hand steer cars are allowed and there is no minimum weight requirement… with all other rules as per Hot Rod in IHRA rulebook. “Super Rod cars are WELCOME!”

He went on, “Everyone will get two qualifying runs with the field qualified based on closest to the index. TNTSS qualifying points will be awarded as normal as the event is part of the 2016 points championship. Cars will be paired randomly for the first and second rounds.”

COUNTDOWN to a Championship – PAUL YOUNG – 2015 TNT Super Series CHAMPION

ALDEN, NEW YORK – Paul Young from Alden, New York earned his second Joe’s Transmission TNT Super Series Paul Young - photog Neffke Motorsports Photography Championship in 2015 with a dominating performance.

Winning his first TNTSS championship in 2009, Young is only the second driver to win multiple TNTSS titles. And he did it in style again in 2015, making his way to no less than four final round appearances.

Young started the season with a win at Lancaster in May. Then he gave up the points lead briefly but came back strong with a runner-up and a semi-final finish at Cayuga in June to put him back atop the leader board.

COUNTDOWN to a Championship

– JASON VITEZ and JJ JABLONSKI – 2015 TNT Super Series Second Place

NEW YORK – Jason Vitez and JJ Jablonski teamed up as co-drivers this year and earned themselves a second place Jason Vitez - photog Ron Rigbyfinish in the 2015 Joe’s Transmission TNT Super Series.

Both drivers are former champions in the highly competitive 10.90 series so it was no surprise to see them near the top of the standings as a team. 651 points had them in contention right up until championship weekend.

Vitez’s Lancaster win in Jablonski’s Nova at race 5 moved them up to third from seventh in the points standings. Then Jablonski held them there through race 8 when Vitez posted a runner-up finish at Empire’s Pro Am and set them solidly in second place.

COUNTDOWN to a Championship – DAVID SURMATCHEWSKI – 2015 TNT Super Series Third Place

OAKLAND, ON – David Surmatchewski is no stranger to the winner’s circle in sportsman drag racing. The former David Surmatchewski - photog Mary Neffkeseries champion earned himself 638 points on his way to a third place finish in the 2015 Joe’s Transmission TNT Super Series.

It was his runner-up finish on July 17th at Lancaster that catapulted him from tenth to fourth in the points. He then stayed in the top five for the remainder of the season.

This is Surmatchewski’s eighth time in the top ten and fifth time in the top five in the highly competitive 10.90 series.

Out of Oakland, Ontario the Canadian also earned the title of 2015 Performance Improvements DRIVER OF THE YEAR, lubricated by Royal Purple with an average winning package of .028 seconds.

“I have to thank Alex Schut at Insta-Insulation for years of support as my main sponsor,” said Surmatchewski. “My wife Alyson for her major role in not only supporting our racing but taking care of us when we’re at the track. Thanks to my daughters Marissa and Madison for their support and cheering me on.”
