COUNTDOWN to a Championship – David Surmatchewski

2016 TNT Super Series FOURTH PLACE

NIAGARA FALLS, ON – David Surmatchewski has seen his share of success in the 10 year history of the Joe’s david-surmatchewskiTransmission TNT Super Series. The Canadian from Oakland, Ontario scored a top five finish landing in fourth place overall in the 2016 chase.

The past series champion and driver of the year went deep into eliminations on many occasions. He had multiple semi-final finishes, a runner-up and some very strong qualifying to earn 596 championship points.

“I have to thank my family – Alyson, Marissa, Maddy and Dylan for all the help and support,” said Surmatchewski. “Thanks to Danny and Don at Douglas Engines Brantford plus Alex Schuts at Insta-Insulation for their continued support.”

COUNTDOWN to a Championship 

JJ Jablonski / Jason Vitez – 2016 TNT Super Series FIFTH PLACE

NIAGARA FALLS, ON – Western New York drivers JJ Jablonski and Jason Vitez are no strangers to the sportsman jj-jablonski-photog-bryan-eppsdrag racing winner’s circle. Both drivers are past series champions in the Joe’s Transmission TNT Super Series.

For 2016, the duo teamed up to chase the TNTSS championship and finished in the top five. The season saw many late round appearances and they had the “right guy” accumulating points at almost every race.

Combine that with strong qualifying efforts plus Jablonski winning the season finale and they earned themselves fifth place with 593 points, a mere 26 points out of second place.

Jim Thomson wins TNT Super Series Championship

Tom Coonly wins Race of Champions – Thomson, Jablonski win Races 9 & 10

NIAGARA FALLS, ON – The TNTSS Championship Weekend presented by Sam LoVetro Automotive did not jim-thompson-2016-championdisappoint. Jim Thomson from Niagara Falls, Ontario scored the 2016 Joe’s Transmission TNT Super Series championship with a dominating win on Friday at Lancaster Dragway. Then on Saturday at Empire Dragway, Blasdell New York’s Tom Coonly topped the field in the REVS Full Throttle Powersports RACE OF CHAMPIONS and JJ Jablonski from Alden, New York won the final TNTSS race of the season.

Jim Thomson wasted no time in his chase for the title qualifying #1 with a 7.002. Then he marched through the field – running 7.00 five of the seven times he went down the track – to win the event and clinch the points title before the night was done.

TNT Super Series – Labour Day Championship Weekend Double PLUS Race of Champions

None of the top 7 drivers have ever won a TNTSS championship!

NIAGARA FALLS, ON – The first Joe’s Transmission TNT Super Series championship was awarded in 2007. Now, TNTSS-300pxnearly ten years later, the series just keeps growing. This weekend a new champion will be crowned as the series wraps up its best season yet.

Sam LoVetro Automotive presents championship weekend, kicking off Friday September 2 on Lancaster Dragway’s 1/8th mile and finishing up Saturday September 3 at Empire Dragway on the 1/4 mile. As in past seasons, the TNTSS points registration fee will be waived for BOTH Friday and Saturday’s races to allow people who want to try the best index class racing in the country, the chance to do so.

Pete D’Agnolo crushes 71 car field to win $5000 in TNT Super Series at Empire’s Pro Am

2016 marks the tenth season for the highly competitive sportsman series!

LEICESTER, NY – The Joe’s Transmission TNT Super Series hosted its first $5000/win race this past weekend as an Pete D'Agnoloopener to the IHRA Pro Am at Empire Dragway. Pete D’Agnolo from Rochester, New York took the win from the 71 car field and earned himself the big cheque.

With presenting sponsors Roy & Tara Lister, the TNTSS 5K was destined for success. Series creators Ted Barnes and Joe Boniferro said they wanted to do something special for the tenth season. “Joe came up with the 5K idea during the off season and we ran with it. Seventy-one cars made this by far the biggest race in the history of the series and a terrific way to celebrate season ten!” said Barnes.

Ryan Boniferro wins TNT Super Series at Cayuga and earns spot in Race of Champions

Win moves Boniferro into the top ten in points!

CAYUGA, ON – Ryan Boniferro of Niagara Falls, Ontario got his first event win in Joe’s Transmission TNT Super Ryan BoniferroSeries competition at Toronto Motorsports Park this past Saturday night.

Kevin Orr Mechanical presented the weekend that saw 27 cars roll in for round one on both days. Tom Coonly of Blasdell, NY qualified number one on Saturday with a 10.903 and Hamilton Ontario’s Dave Gunn took the top spot Sunday with a perfect 10.900. Gunn also came out of the weekend with the championship points lead. Sunday’s event was shortened by rain just as the cars were called for second round.

In round one on Saturday, Boniferro had the advantage off the line against Chris VanBaalen in round one with a .003 to a .034, forcing VanBaalen to break out. Round two had Larry Pulver go .009 red to him and the same thing happened in round three when Kevin Orr was .001 on the bad side of the tree.

TNT Super Series returns to Toronto Motorsports Park for a Double this Weekend

Kevin Orr Mechanical presents RACES 6 & 7 as the TNTSS points chase heats up!

CAYUGA, ON – The Joe’s Transmission TNT Super Series returns to Toronto Motorsports Park this weekend July TNTSS-300px23-24 for races 6 and 7 in the championship points chase. Presented by Kevin Orr Mechanical, this weekend kicks off the second half of the ten race TNTSS season.

Car counts have been strong this season with the average at 30.2 cars in the first five events. There were 27 cars earlier this year at TMP paying $800 to the winner. Ted Barnes says to look for at least that many this weekend. “The series always pays $1000/win at 30 cars or more!”

Billy Ryan wins at Lancaster and takes TNT Super Series points lead

Ryan took home $1000 defeating the 36 car field!!!

LANCASTER, NY –  Billy Ryan from Marion, New York won Joe’s Transmission TNT Super Series race #5 at Billy Ryan - photog Neffke Motorsports PhotographyLancaster Dragway on Friday night. Ryan qualified 16th and made it look easy marching through the 36 car field to get his second win of 2016 in the very competitive heads up sportsman series.

Presented by Dataclutch Data Acquisition, the event drew a record car count for TNTSS at Lancaster with 36 cars making the call for first round.

In round one, Ryan tree’d Joe Karosik with a .518 and pushed the Nova under. Round two saw him do the same to Larry Pulver but with a .521 light.
