COUNTDOWN to a Championship

JJ Jablonski / Jason Vitez – 2016 TNT Super Series FIFTH PLACE

NIAGARA FALLS, ON – Western New York drivers JJ Jablonski and Jason Vitez are no strangers to the sportsman jj-jablonski-photog-bryan-eppsdrag racing winner’s circle. Both drivers are past series champions in the Joe’s Transmission TNT Super Series.

For 2016, the duo teamed up to chase the TNTSS championship and finished in the top five. The season saw many late round appearances and they had the “right guy” accumulating points at almost every race.

Combine that with strong qualifying efforts plus Jablonski winning the season finale and they earned themselves fifth place with 593 points, a mere 26 points out of second place.

For their efforts, they will receive a glass trophy, embroidered TNTSS jacket, $200 cash, $50 from Bear’s and $100 from Jiffy-tite.

Jablonski and Vitez are always quick to thank their families. “Gotta thank Joe Boniferro and Ted Barnes for putting this deal on,” said Jablonski. “Ten years this series has been going and we’ve been a part of it since day one!”

Jablonski was the 2012 and 2013 TNTSS champion while Vitez won it in 2014. Sponsors for the pair include Jason Vitez Race Cars, Jan-Cen Racing Engines and Competition Transmission.

Next up is the TNTSS Awards Night on Saturday November 12 at Johnny Rocco’s in Niagara Falls, Ontario. Contact ted@tntsuperseries.com for more info.

Jason Vitez – photog Bryan EppsAbout the Joe’s Transmission TNT Super Series (TNTSS):

Since it began in 2006, the TNT Super Series has grown into one of the strongest, most competitive sportsman drag racing series in North America and has catapulted many competitors to success on the national and divisional stages.

The TNTSS is a self-governing organization with input from its teams. Based on NHRA’s Super Street & IHRA’s Hot Rod classes, competitors run on a 10.90 index in the 1/4 mile (7.00 in the 1/8 mile) and race for a guaranteed purse that pays back more than 100% of the racer’s entry fees. The yearend points fund provides cash & prizes to the top eight finishers and the Series Champion receives a prize package worth over $4000.00.

The TNTSS is committed to providing the highest level of competition backed by solid media support to showcase its participants across North America. Events are contested at various drag racing facilities in southern Ontario and western New York and put on a spectacular show for the drag racing fan.
