ENGLISHTOWN, NJ – FireAde Pro Stock driver Larry Morgan will make history this weekend at the Toyota NHRA Summernationals at Old Bridge Township Raceway Park by becoming the third driver to reach 600 starts in NHRA drag racing.

His start in drag racing, not surprisingly, was not so historic. As a pre-teenager in his hometown in Ohio, Morgan would spend his afternoons sweeping the floor of a local gas station. Racer Thurman Treadway would come to the station, and young Morgan asked to go to the races with him.

“He said, ‘If you come Saturday and wash all these cars, I’ll take you to the races,’ ” Morgan said. “That’s how it started.”

TOPEKA, KS – FireAde Racing driver Larry Morgan moved up to sixth in points in the ultra-competitive Pro Stock class with a semifinal finish at the NHRA Kansas Nationals on Sunday at Heartland Park Topeka.

Morgan lost to eventual race winner Erica Enders, but after qualifying No. 4 and racing to the semifinals, he was all smiles.

“I’m excited,” Morgan said. “We had a good weekend. We run here and we’re not used to all this crazy weather. The tune-up was just off. We had a good day and I’m excited for FireAde. We are getting more rounds in and getting more TV time and people are becoming more aware of what FireAde is. Everybody ought to have one in their house.”

TOPEKA, KS – Steaming toward 600 races in his NHRA career, FireAde Pro Stock driver Larry Morgan is showing no signs of slowing down.

In his 599th career race, Morgan snared the No. 4 qualifying spot for the NHRA Kansas Nationals this weekend at Heartland Park Topeka. That’s his best qualifying effort since going No. 2 in Gainesville, Fla., in 2007 (he was also No. 4 in Dallas in 2009 and Seattle in 2007). His official qualifying run was a 6.533 at 211.10 mph.

“It does feel good to qualify well because you know that you’ve got something worth racing,” Morgan said. “We have that, with the help of FireAde and all the good people who are behind me with this deal and all the good help I have between my team and the Gray team. It’s gratifying for us.”

TOPEKA, KS – Perhaps no one in the NHRA family is more distraught over the current state of affairs at Heartland Park Topeka than veteran Pro Stock driver Larry Morgan, who has competed at every national event at the venerable facility on the high plains since it opened in 1989.

ATLANTA – Charlotte winner Larry Morgan definitely had his FireAde Chevrolet ready to challenge for another victory Sunday at Atlanta Dragway, but despite posting a quicker elapsed time in his second-round race against Jason Line, Morgan was beaten by his own reaction time, which was .03-second slower than Line’s launch.

Morgan’s deficit was just a tad too much to make up, and his quicker 6.565 at 212.29 mph fell to Line’s 6.573 at 210.64 mph.

“Well, dang it all if I didn’t give one away,” Morgan said. “That really hurts because my son made some great calls on the tune-up and obviously the Gray Motorsports horsepower was there. We just had a malfunction behind the wheel: The driver messed up.

ATLANTA – The only thing that slowed FireAde Racing driver Larry Morgan was the finish line.  Morgan posted the fastest speed of the Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Southern Nationals on Saturday at Atlanta Dragway, making a pass of 6.565 seconds at 211.89 mph in the third qualifying session. That puts him in the No. 8 spot heading into final eliminations Sunday.

“I feel real good going into the first round,” Morgan said. “I feel that confident. We were top speed for the weekend, so that’s good for us and for Johnny (Gray) and Gray Motorsports. I feel real good about everything.”

Gray Motorsports supplies engines and technical support to Morgan’s FireAde Racing team. Sunday, though, Morgan will have to line up against a Gray teammate in the first round: Jonathan Gray, son of Johnny Gray, who qualified No. 9 with a 6.580 at 210.08 mph.

The issue, with Lucas Oil Sportsman racer Jerry Emmons gracing the cover, is the second edition of the first volume from the longtime drag racing website.

After years of struggling in Pro Stock with his underfunded Larry Morgan Racing team, the veteran driver has stepped up for 2015. First, he partnered with FireAde to provide financial resources, and then he signed with Gray Motorsports to supply engines and technical support.

ATLANTA – FireAde Racing Pro Stock driver Larry Morgan is poised for a big weekend at the 35th annual Summit NHRA Spring Nationals at Atlanta Dragway.

The class veteran has been one of the fastest drivers in Pro Stock in 2015, winning at Charlotte and solidifying himself as a top contender through the first six races. He’s already poised to have one of his best seasons ever.

The former Atlanta winner, though, has even more incentive this weekend, as Georgia is home to Fire Service Plus, Morgan’s marketing partner for 2015. The company is based in Fayetteville, Ga., about 90 miles from Atlanta Dragway.

HOUSTON, TX – Charlotte winner Larry Morgan had his FireAde Chevrolet Pro Stock car ready for another trip to the Victory Circle Sunday at the O’Reilly Auto Parts NHRA SpringNationals, but a cosmic .003-second reaction time by quarterfinal opponent Greg Anderson resulted in a 2-inch loss on the quarter-mile stripe.

Morgan was plenty fast off the starting line himself, posting a great .016-second launch, but Anderson’s 6.572 at 210.47 mph was just enough to steal away the win against Morgan’s quicker-but-losing 6.563 at 211.36 mph.

“That was a classic, door-handle-to-door-handle race all the way down the quarter-mile,” Morgan said. “Both cars were in step, and I promise I couldn’t have pushed that gas pedal any harder. It was so close I don’t think either one of us could tell who won until the lights came on in his lane.

HOUSTON, TX – Just one race removed from a huge victory at the NHRA Four-Wide Nationals in Charlotte, veteran Pro Stock pilot Larry Morgan is anxious to take his FireAde Chevrolet Camaro back to the Winner’s Circle. That’s the goal for Sunday’s elimination action at the annual O’Reilly Auto Parts NHRA SpringNationals at Royal Purple Raceway in Baytown, Texas.

“I’ve done some research,” Morgan said with a smile. “I have determined beyond a shadow of a doubt that it’s way more fun to win than not. So what the heck, we might as well win this thing!

“We certainly have as good a chance as anyone here. We’ve got an awesome sponsor with FireAde, and this Chevrolet has been so good. The engines we get from Gray Motorsports are stout. All we have to do is put the pieces together the right way and we’ll be back in Victory Lane.”
