BAHRAIN  – As the country of Bahrain’s official drag racing ambassadors to the world, B1 Racing is pleased to welcome and announce the support of VP Racing for B1’s charge to claim the ADRL Championship in 2011.

VP will be supplying all racing fuel needed for both testing and racing in the 2011 season.

“The vision of Sheikh Abdulla (bin Hamad Al Khalifa) to promote racing worldwide, educate young people about motorsports, and grow participation is completely in line with what we’re working to accomplish at VP, and we’re pleased to be a part of the B1 Racing team,” said Jim Kelly, VP’s corporate director of sales and marketing.

“The team showed great promise in the Arabian Drag Racing League’s recent championship battle, and we’re excited to be a part of what should be a great run for the US ADRL championship as well,” Kelly said.

MANAMA, Bahrain — When he took the job of team manager for Sheikh Abdulla bin Hamad Al Khalifa, 40-year-old Ameer Akhtarzadeh knew he would be working on an International drag racing team, coordinating across continents, cultures and multiple time zones.

But, as his responsibilities have increased as the scope of the Sheikh’s plans for the B1 Racing team expanded, Ameer has had to cling to his personal motto: “Nothing is impossible” – and his determination is evident in the quick success of the Bahrain-based team.

Ameer not only coordinates travel and racing schedules for the three B1 drivers – Houston, Texas-based Josh Hernandez, and Bahrain-based Ali Aryan and Khalid Mohammed – he also manages the same for the continually growing and often changing team of crew chiefs, team members, engine builders and support staff.

He also sources parts and services across International lines, all while keeping up with his “day job” or running the growing interests of VP Racing Fuels in Bahrain.

According to Ameer, however, the details are not the most challenging part of his life.

DOHA, Qatar  – Despite disappointing red-light starts in the Arabian Drag Racing League’s Battle for the Belts by both of B1 Racing’s entries, the future is all green for the veteran-laced Pro Mod team from Bahrain. Given the state of current world politics and unrest, the question of continuing racing has crossed the minds of the team members and fans alike – but, according to Pro Extreme driver Josh Hernandez, the future is bright.

“Of course, we are all concerned about the politics in Bahrain, but everyone I have talked with has assured me that the events are not as bad as the American and world media paints it to be. It’s the nature of news. The Crown Prince is working through things, and everyone has confidence that it will all work out,” Hernandez said.

“As far as the Battle for the Belts – it just wasn’t meant to be for us,” he said.

DOHA, Qatar (February 16, 2011)  – Their names might be on their cars, but both Pro Extreme driver Josh Hernandez and Pro Nitrous driver Khalid Mohammed know that in order to be successful this week in the final race of the Arabian Drag Racing League’s season – the “Battle of the Belts” – they are going to need every person on the B1 Racing team focused on winning two championships.

After starting the season at Qatar Racing Club in Doha with wins in their respective classes, the two have endured the highs and lows of drag racing en route to a berth in the top eight with the right to compete for the Championship Belt.

After the first seven races, Mr. Mohammed finished in third position, while Hernandez ended No. 5.

As members of B1 Racing, both drivers have hall-of-fame supporting casts that others only dream of. For Hernandez, it’s the duo of Oddy and Critchley.
