O’FALLON, MO – Richie Stevens Jr. is officially living in “pinch-me” status these days and it’s not hard to figure out why.
The CarSafe-sponsored Extreme Pro Stock standout picked up his first ADRL event win at the recent U.S. Drags V at
Virginia Motorsports Park, making him the only Pro Stock driver in drag racing history to win a Pro Stock race in the ADRL, NHRA and IHRA.
That officially kicked off one of the most memorable stretches in Stevens’ life, both on and off the track.
After the impressive victory, Stevens watched his girlfriend, Erica Enders, win eight days later in Chicago to become the first female to win in NHRA Pro Stock.
Moments later, Enders became Stevens’ fiancé when he asked her to marry him right on the finish line at Route 66 Raceway in Chicago.
Butner takes Third ADRL Super Car Win!
Written by Bret Kepner
Dinwiddie, VA – It was no easy task but Bo Butner scored his third event victory in the American Drag Racing League’s spectacular new SuperCar Showdown category. His road to the winner’s circle at the ADRL’s U.S. Drags V at Virginia
Motorsports Park near Richmond was the most grueling yet for the past World Champion in his quest to keep the Ford Motor Company undefeated in the 2012 SuperCar Showdown series.
Holding the winner’s trophy at the end of the race was an unlikely prospect for the Floyds Knobs, Indiana veteran in a weekend which included a broken trailer rig, oppressive heat, destroyed parts and an unintentional new wheelstand altitude record over the course of three days.
“I’ve had tough races but this one takes it”, admitted Butner during post-race interviews. “We’ve been through the wringer at this one and it’s pretty hard to believe we pulled it off. It’s important for Ford, for me and for our fans to win and there’s a lot of pressure to make sure Ford is undefeated in this series but we sure worked for this one”.

Dinwiddie, VA – The American Drag Racing League made its return to Virginia Motorsports Park for the U.S. Drags V
and was greeted with a deluge of extreme conditions. First round of qualifying the temperatures were on the extreme end of the scale but despite these Kevin Bealko in his competition debut with a clutch, was able to qualify the 2011 GXP in ninth position while John Delforian, Jr. in the 2012 Camaro ended up in the sixteenth position .
The second round of qualifying started twelve hours later after several rain showers and a temperature drop of almost twenty degrees John was able to improve his time while Kevin wiggled down the track but unfortunately the other teams also improved their elapsed times bumping both cars out of the field . Rain ended any more qualifying sessions for friday night and the team went to work prepping both cars for the final qualifying session on Saturday.

PETERSBURG, VA – In what was the most lucrative win in his career and in Top Sportsman history, Terry Teets didn’t have to go far to get it on Saturday.
Racing close to home at Virginia Motorsports Park, Teets capped off a terrific day with a winning 4.444 at 163.59 miles per hour in the finals of the Summit Racing Equipment Top Sportsman “Clash of the Titans,” which was held at this weekend’s American Drag Racing League (ADRL) U.S. Drags V.
The win against Richmond-area native William Brown III netted Teets a Top Sportsman-record $10,000 prize and one massive winner’s circle smile.
“This is the biggest win I’ve ever had. I love Summit and the ADRL for putting this on,” said Teets, who also credited tuner Wayne Rogers, stepdaughter Sidney Spence and his son, Chris Teets. “It’s a big deal, too, because my brother (Glenn) won (in Top Sportsman) last year here, so we kept it in the family.”
Deflorian on the Outside Looking in After 2 Sessions at VMP

PETERSBURG, VA – Sweltering heat and periodic rain showers left both Black Diamond Motorsports car
not qualified after two sessions friday . The 2012 Camaro driven by John Deflorian, Jr. hopped skipped and jumped its way up the Virginia Motorsports Park surface trying to grab a hold of the surface but to no avail.
On his fast track learning curve, the GXP driven by Kevin Bealko in his competition debut with a five speed transmission carved his way to the sixteenth spot in the first qualifying session only to be bumped out in the second session after passing thunderstorms and curfew ended qualifying .
With one qualifying session left on Saturday Black Diamond Motorsports hopes to seat both cars into the tough field .

PETERSBURG, VA – Travis Harvey is hoping his stay on top in Summit Racing Equipment Top Sportsman lasts one more night.
Right now Harvey is the driver to beat at Summit Racing Equipment’s Top Sportsman “Clash of the Titans,” a special one-race event during the American Drag Racing League’s (ADRL) U.S. Drags V at Virginia Motorsports Park.
He went a remarkable 4.141 at 173.43 miles per hour in the massive 35-car Summit Racing Top Sportsman field on Friday, jumping to the top spot of the 32-car qualifying field that will pay out a Top Sportsman record $10,000 to the winner.
“This is a pretty huge event and since it’s $10,000 on the line and Summit was putting it on, I really wanted to come out,” said Harvey, who won Dragstock VIII in 2011. “I tried to put together a run in the 4.10s and that’s what it did.
Butner to Skillman: “I’m Gunnin’ for Ya Kid!” ADRL Supercar Showdown Gettin’ Real!
Written by Bret Kepner
Dinwiddie, VA – Two weeks ago, Bo Butner was lounging on a beach in the Caribbean while on a dream trip he planned
with girlfriend Randi Lyn Shipp before the American Drag Racing League ever announced the debut of its revolutionary new SuperCar Showdown category.
However, the mind of the two-time SuperCar Showdown champion wasn’t on the pristine sands or the cool ocean water; he was on the phone with the team of his Butner’s Auto Sales 2012 Ford Mustang Cobra Jet as competition raged at the ADRL Gateway Drags IV presented by CarSafe Automotive Repair Protection at Gateway Motorsports Parks in Madison, Illinois.
The helpless Hoosier could only listen as he heard the news of young Drew Skillman’s
World Record performances of 5.70 seconds and 121.01 miles per hour in another supercharged Mustang Cobra Jet en route to a clean sweep of the event culminating in Skillman’s first SCS victory. Moreover, Skillman’s final round victim was NHRA superstar Jimmy DeFrank, whom Butner pegged to drive his Cobra Jet in his absence.

Dinwiddie, VA – Coming off a triennial of No. 1 qualifier awards St. Louis native John DeFlorian’s storybook drag racing season continues to reach new heights. Deflorian put together the quickest and fastest 1/8-mile run in Pro Stock
history, running a 4.018 seconds elapsed time at 179.92 miles per hour during the third qualifying session on Friday during the American Drag Racing League’s (ADRL) Gateway Drags IV presented by CarSafe at Gateway Motorsports Park.
“This is beyond, far beyond my wildest dreams and having it happen here makes it so much sweeter,” Deflorian said. “I know so many people here and having them out here at this race just makes it so special. “I’m almost speechless. This is just unbelievable and that’s not even a big enough of a word to describe it.”
Lamentably what could have been an even more enduring moment was cut short by tire shake in the opening round of eliminations but John was still smiling when he rolled out of Gateway Motorsports Park and will certainly be looking to parlay another number-one qualifying effort into a victory at American Drag Racing League (ADRL) U.S. Drags V held at Virginia Motorsports Park (VMP) Virginia.
