Dinwiddie, VA – Coming off a triennial of No. 1 qualifier awards St. Louis native John DeFlorian’s storybook drag racing season continues to reach new heights. Deflorian put together the quickest and fastest 1/8-mile run in Pro Stock history, running a 4.018 seconds elapsed time at 179.92 miles per hour during the third qualifying session on Friday during the American Drag Racing League’s (ADRL) Gateway Drags IV presented by CarSafe at Gateway Motorsports Park.

“This is beyond, far beyond my wildest dreams and having it happen here makes it so much sweeter,” Deflorian said. “I know so many people here and having them out here at this race just makes it so special. “I’m almost speechless. This is just unbelievable and that’s not even a big enough of a word to describe it.”

Lamentably what could have been an even more enduring moment was cut short by tire shake in the opening round of eliminations but John was still smiling when he rolled out of Gateway Motorsports Park and will certainly be looking to parlay another number-one qualifying effort into a victory at American Drag Racing League (ADRL) U.S. Drags V held at Virginia Motorsports Park (VMP) Virginia.

Black Diamond Motorsports would like to welcome their newest crew members Braydon Bealko 6 pounds 6 ounces and KW & TE weighing in at 30,000 pounds all are doing well and will be a big asset to supporting the team.

Out with the old and in with the new in Kevin Bealko’s GXP. In the highly competitive field of Extreme Pro Stock where milliseconds matter, a shifting change has been made to improve Black Diamond Motorsports Team GXP to be more competitive and its competition debut will occur at American Drag Racing League (ADRL) U.S. Drags V held at Virginia Motorsports Park (VMP) Virginia.
