IHRA Puts Sportsman Racers in the Spotlight with New Nitro Jam Qualifying Schedule
NORWALK, OH – Racers looking for a little more action and a little more time in the spotlight will get their wish at all Nitro Jam/Pro-
Am combination events in 2013.
Beginning with the San Antonio Nitro Jam in April the International Hot Rod Association (IHRA) has announced a new qualifying schedule that will give all participants a round of qualifying on Friday night just prior to the Nitro Jam professional rounds at all Nitro Jam/ Pro-Am events.
Vic Puglia Racecars returns as builder of Junior Summit SuperSeries prize dragster
NORWALK, OH – After an extremely successful debut in 2012 with the very first Junior Dragster World Championship, the 
International Hot Rod Association (IHRA) is pleased to announce that Vic Puglia Race Cars, based in Buffalo, N.Y., will return as the official builder of the 2013 Junior Summit SuperSeries prize dragster awarded to the winner of the Junior Dragster World Championship at the Summit World Finals at Memphis International Raceway.
Founded in 2005 by longtime racer Vic Puglia, a graduate of the IHRA Junior Dragster program himself, Vic Puglia Race Cars is an award-winning shop that designs both Junior Dragster and full-size racecars and engines. Through his own experiences in the Junior Dragster program, Puglia has committed himself to building the most state-of-the-art race machines in the sport and looks forward to once again being a part of the Junior Summit SuperSeries program after a very rewarding first year with the program.

Two-time IHRA Funny Car champion Peter Gallen bringing new look, new attitude into 2013
NORWALK, OH – If you have followed just one second of the IHRA Nitro Jam series over the past three years you are almost certain to 
have heard the name Peter Gallen.
The nostalgia Funny Car driver out of Broomall, Pennsylvania has been to just about every victory lane and set just about every record the IHRA has to offer, but there is still more on Gallen’s to-do list. As hard as it is to believe, even with 17 wins, 27 finals, two IHRA World Records and two AMSOIL Prostalgia Funny Car titles, Gallen isn’t quite done just yet.
“There is still more we want to do,” Gallen said. “We are always pushing our car and our team harder, to be the best, and even with the success we have enjoyed over the last few years we aren’t backing down one bit. There are still mountains out there left to climb.”
FAST BY GAST TO SPONSOR ADRL PRO EXTREME MOTORCYCLE LOW QUALIFIER AWARD
Lake St. Louis, MO — Officials from the American Drag Racing League announced today that high performance motorcycle drag race 
company Fast By Gast will sponsor the low qualifier award in the Pro Extreme Motorcycle class for the 2013 ADRL Tour. The low qualifier in Pro Extreme Motorcycle will be awarded $250 courtesy of FBG.
“When it comes to Pro Extreme Motorcycle the ADRL is the place to race,” said FBG Owner Paul Gast. “Everyone we have talked to is super excited about the 2013 ADRL Tour and I for one cannot wait for the season to get started.”

Benifit for PMRA Series Fireman Trevor Dell’s two-year old son Jack
On Saturday, March 9 a Youth Hockey Skills Competition will be hosted at the Cayuga Memorial Arena from 8:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
All proceeds from the event will be donated to two-year old Jack Dell, diagnosed and being treated for a Wilms Tumor on his left kidney. Jack had the kidney and tumor removed on February 11 and is undergoing 18 to 25 weeks chemotherapy.
We would like you to be a part of this significant and fundamental component of hockey in Cayuga throughout the years and to invite you to attend.
Everyone is welcome, so come out and cheer on a select group of boys and girls between the ages of six and 14 in this exciting and entertaining experience for the children. It will be a night that they will never forget.
Mopar Versus Mopar Funny Car Final at Phoenix
Phoenix, AZ – It was an all Mopar final in Funny Car competition, as Don Schumacher Racing teammates Matt Hagan and Ron Capps 
faced-off at the Arizona Nationals, the second event on the 2013 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series calendar. Capps followed up his runner-up finish in last weekend’s season opener at Pomona with a dominating title win by posting a 4.064 second run, his fourth straight 4.0 in his Dodge Charger R/T, to beat his Mopar teammate Hagan’s 4.15 second pass. It was Capps’ 38th career Funny Car victory and his third at Firebird International Raceway.
Quarterfinal finish leaves Coughlin wanting more
PHOENIX, AZ – Jeg Coughlin Jr. knew his JEGS.com/Mopar Dodge Avenger was as strong as it had been all year long during the early 
going of Sunday’s NHRA Arizona Nationals.
“We felt really good,” Coughlin said. “We had the fourth-fastest car in three of the four qualifying runs and we were quickest car in the first round of eliminations, which was a first of that kind for us this season. We didn’t rest on a thing.”
Coughlin easily dispatched Rodger Brogdon in the first round, which set-up a quarterfinal match with longtime rival Jason Line. Unfortunately, a slight hiccup with the car ended Coughlin’s day early.
Solid Qualifying Performances for Mopar at Phoenix
Phoenix, AZ – Mopar drivers and teams rolled out solid qualifying performances for the Arizona Nationals at Firebird International Raceway, the second event on the 2013 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series schedule. Don Schumacher Racing’s Johnny Gray drove his Dodge Charger R/T Funny Car to the top of the scoring sheets in a dominant manner with the two best runs of qualifying, posting a pass of 4.034 seconds at 313.80 mph to earn the top qualifier honors. It is the second consecutive year Gray has earned the pole position at Phoenix and the fourth time of his career.
Second in Pro Stock points, Coughlin only looking up in Arizona
PHOENIX, AZ – Jeg Coughlin Jr. carried his momentum from a runner-up finish in the season opener last weekend to qualify the 
JEGS.com/Mopar Dodge Avenger in the No. 6 spot for Sunday’s eliminations at the NHRA Arizona Nationals at Firebird International Raceway.
“The last six runs we made in Pomona were all competitive runs,” Coughlin said. “That was our goal coming in here. We wanted to build off of Pomona and see how we did here.”
Coughlin had a best lap of 6.544 seconds at 211.36 mph to land in the exact qualifying spot he went to the final round from a week ago.
