NHRA WORLD CHAMP ROBERT HIGHT TO ATTEND MLB ALL-STAR GAME

YORBA LINDA, CA – Robert Hight, 2009 NHRA Funny Car champion and driver of the Automobile Club of Hight AAA Stage - Ron LewisSouthern California Chevrolet Camaro SS Funny Car will be one of the many sports stars and celebrities in attendance at tomorrow’s MLB All-Star Game in San Diego. Fresh of his second consecutive semi-final finish of the season at the K&N Filters Route 66 NHRA Nationals the 2016 Gatornationals winner will be rooting for Los Angeles Dodgers pitchers Clayton Kershaw and Kenley Jansen and infielder Corey Seager at the game.

“Of course I am bummed Kershaw is inactive but I will definitely be pulling for Jansen and Seager to do well in the game. I am very excited to be attending the All-Star Game. You can watch the game and the next three NHRA races on FOX. This is big for our sport. NHRA on Fox’s national live broadcast will be huge and we will be putting on a great show,” said Hight.

“The great thing about an NHRA Drag Racing national event is we have all the all-stars at every race twenty-four times a season. The next races on FOX in Denver, Sonoma and Seattle will be like seeing three MLB All-Star games in a row,” added Hight.

Hight is an established fan of MLB particularly the Dodgers. Throughout his career he has thrown out ceremonial first pitches in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Boston, and St. Louis. As a young baseball fan Hight had dream of being a catcher in the big leagues even going to so far as to write a letter to Hall of Famer and Dodger legend Tommy Lasorda. Hight received a letter back from Lasorda and over two decades later Hight and Lasorda met when Hight raced a Los Angeles Dodgers/Auto Club themed Funny Car in 2008.
