V.Gaines Joliet Report
Joliet, IL – The 2014 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series is making their stop in the Windy City area this weekend. V Gaines and his 
Kendall Motor Oil team have unloaded their rig at Route 66 Raceway in Joliet Ill. and the guys are looking forward to another big weekend.
“This is a cool race track with their stadium style seating, the fans are amazing here, and the folks here at Route 66 Raceway work their tails off making sure everyone has a great weekend” V Gaines.
“We know it is hard to see from the outside but we made good progress on the Kendall Motor Oil Dart last weekend.” Gaines cont. “We are excited to hit the track and man-o-man we are so ready to be racing deep into the rounds on Sunday”
V.Gaines headed to the 2nd Annual Auto Plus New England Nationals
The Kendall Motor Oil race team has made their way to the North East and are getting ready for this weekends Auto Plus New England 
NHRA Nationals. This being the second year the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series will be holding a National Event in Epping NH.
Coming off last weekends race V and the Kendall Motor Oil team have a solid direction with their new Dodge Dart bodied NHRA Pro Stock machine. “It’s been……let’s say interesting finding the set up on this car” V laughs. “Seriously though, it is and will be a great car and the guys are sneaking up on the things that have been making things….. interesting”
This weekends race could end up being one for the record books if Mother Nature helps us out. The elevation of the track is less than 100′ above sea level and if the air is good, well the Pro Stock cars will be flying. V gaies and his Kendall Motor Oil Doge will have two sessions on Friday, two more on Saturday, and race day will be Sunday. Check your local listing as the final rounds of competition will be shown live on ESPN II.
V. Gaines Ford Thunder Valley Nationals Pre-Race Report
This week the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series travels to Bristol TN to one of the most amazing tracks on the NHRA circuit, World 
famous Bristol Dragway. The drag strip is located in a valley between two mountains and the sounds of NHRA Drag Racing rolls on and on like a summer thunder storm.
V Gaines and the guys on the Kendall Motor Oil Pro Stock team are looking to hear the thunder late in the day on Sunday that’s for sure. The new Kendall Motor Oil Dodge Dart has been a little….”Tricky” but good things are right around the corner.
“This new car from Lazarus Race Cars is amazing” V tells us “As a team we have been trying a ton of new things, new set ups, and some new parts. We know all the parts are awesome, we just have to find the combination that gets them all working together” he finishes.
V. Gaines NHRA Toyota Summer Nationals Pre-Race Report
Englishtown, NJ – Race number nine in the 2014 NHRA Mello Yello series has V Gaines and his Kendall Motor Oil team in 
Englishtown for the NHRA Toyota Summer Nationals. Old Bridge Township Raceway is one of the most historical tracks the series travels to every year. E-Town is big, fast and fun.
V and his team will unload the Kendall Motor Oil Dodge Dart in the number 8 spot in the NHRA Mello Yello Championship points. Last weekend in Topeka Kansas the team won a close race in round one and fell in round two when the Kendall Dart made a hard right turn as soon as V let the clutch.
V.Gaines NHRA Kansas Nationals Heartland Park Topeka Pre-Race Report
Topeka, KS – The 2014 NHRA Mello Yellow drag racing series has landed in Topeka Kansas for this weekend Kansas Nationals. Coming off a rain and weather delayed event in Atlanta V and the Kendall Motor Oil crew are hoping for some sunshine and quick ET’s.
” Atlanta this year kinda felt like a marathon or something along those lines…it was a strange race to say the least” Owner/driver V Gaines “We are working hard to get a feel for our new Dodge Dart…the time slips or the results from last weekends event don’t show all the good things we did as a team”
“The new car is awesome” crew member Gary Cummin tells us. “We want the big numbers just like every team out here …I can tell you, this Kendall car is going to be fast sooner than later” Now those of you who know Gary, you can see his smile as he tells us that.
Topeka Kansas is one of the race tracks that take V back to the start if his racing career. “Way, way, way back when we started running Comp. Eliminator here in Division 5 and Topeka was an fun stop every year”. V is laughing…”was that enough ways or should I have added a few more?
V. Gaines, Summit Southern Nationals Atlanta Dragway
After a two week break the 2014 NHRA Mello Yello series is back in full swing at Atlanta Dragway for the Summit Southern Nationals.
The break worked out well for V Gaines and his Kendall Motor Oil race team. “We debuted and brand new Lazarus built Dodge Dart in Houston” V tells us “The car and chassis is awesome, we just needed some time to look things over and make a few more runs on the car” The mini break in the NHRA schedule gave Clyde, Gary, and Rick the perfect opportunity to do just that.
V and the team started 2014 with a bang with a runner up finish at the first two events. “We didn’t lose anything after the second race it just seems like something in the car started to fight us a little bit” V Gaines. “Then we switched to a new chassis and in this game it’s all about timing. We have a great group of guys and Atlanta will be a fun race for the Kendall Motor Oil team”
V. Gaines O’Reilly Auto Parts Spring Nationals Pre-Race Report
Houston, TX – This week V Gaines and his Kendall Motor Oil team travel to the Lone Star state and a great race track in Baytown (Houston). This weekends race is always a big deal for the team as Houston is headquarters for Kendall Motor Oil. Heading into the O’Reilly Auto Parts NHRA Spring Nationals V is sitting number 6 in the 2014 NHRA Mello Yello Championship points standings.
“This is our chance to put on a show for all the folks who work for Kendall Motor Oil” V Gaines. ” On top of that, this weekend is when we are debuting our new Kendall Motor Oil Dodge Dart….WOW”!
The last two races V has gone out in the early rounds of competition and the team is looking forward to getting back into racing in the final rounds.
V. Gaines at 4 Wide NHRA Nationals Zmax Dragway
Charlotte, NC – The NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series rolls into Charlotte, NC for the 5th race of the 2014 season. V Gaines 
and his Kendall Motor Oil team have been working non stop since leaving the race in Vegas two weeks back.
“Vegas was one of those races…..we just never found the sweet spot with our car” V tells us. “We have a ton of friends, fans, and family in the Vegas area and I wish we had put on a better show for them. We have the horse power and we have a great car.”
Those of you that follow Drag Racing or motor sports in general have heard many times over the NHRA Pro Stock category is the tightest and closest class in all forms of racing. The amount of prep work that has to be done before, during, and after a race is simply amazing. Clyde, Gary, and Rick (The Kendall crew) have had the task of keeping the Kendall Motor Oil Avenger in race trim while trying to complete the teams new Pro Stock Dart.
V Gaines Ready for Summit Racing Nationals
Las Vegas, NV – V Gaines and his Kendall Motor Oil NHRA Pro Stock Dodge have made their way to The Strip at Las Vegas 
Speedway for the Summit Racing NHRA Nationals. V will unload his Dodge Avenger on Friday sitting number two in the NHRA Mello Yello Points standings.
“We ran hard a couple weeks ago in Gainesville Florida but came up short in round two against Erica. She has a strong race car right now, that’s for sure” V talks from his office.
Vegas is the forth race of the 2014 NHRA Mello Yello season.
“As a team we were hoping to come to Vegas with our new Dodge Dart, but with no time to test the new car; the right way we will stay with the Avenger”….don’t get me wrong, we have no problem with the Kendall Motor Oil Avenger, it’s a great car!” V goes on.

Gainesville, FL – It’s been a few weeks since V Gaines and his Kendall Motor Oil Dodge raced to a runner up finish in the Valley of 
the Sun at Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park. During this time the guys have been working on the Kendall car non-stop. “It’s a really long season even though we’re off to a pretty good start, there is a lot of things we need to tighten up” V Gaines tells us. “Don’t get me wrong the guys have this Kendall Motor Oil Dodge running hard but we know the other teams are working hard as well”
With two runner up finishes to start his 2014 Mean Teeth Tour V is leading the NHRA Mello Yello Series in Pro Stock points. ” Well that’s fun to say or read but the truth is; in this class there is no room for mistakes and we are just going to focus on one run at a time” he goes on to say.
The team made a stop in Bradenton Florida for testing Monday and Tuesday before heading to Gainesville. Monday was a long day and the car performed well. Tuesday the day was cut short for the team but the entire group is excited for the Gators.
