The 25th annual Dodge NHRA Nevada Nationals powered by Direct Connection at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway is the fifth of six playoff races
LAS VEGAS – NHRA officials announced today that Dodge and Direct Connection have been named the title sponsor of the upcoming fall
race at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
The 25th annual Dodge NHRA Nevada Nationals powered by Direct Connection serves as the penultimate event of the 20-race season in the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series. It takes place Oct. 30-Nov. 2 at the standout facility in Las Vegas and also serves as the fifth of six races in the Countdown to the Championship playoffs, promising plenty of excitement during a can’t-miss weekend.
For a quarter-century, the fall race in Las Vegas has produced an incredible weekend and atmosphere as the championship contenders in Top Fuel, Funny Car, Pro Stock and Pro Stock Motorcycle look for a memorable late-season win. TOP FUEL’S DOUG KALITTA AFTER ANOTHER BIG WEEKEND AT STAMPEDE OF SPEED AND TEXAS NHRA FALLNATIONAL
ENNIS, TX – Top Fuel standout Doug Kalitta has had an ideal start to the NHRA Countdown to the Championship, advancing to the final
round at the first three playoff races.
Heading to Texas Motorplex this weekend with a commanding points lead, Kalitta would love to keep that streak going to close out the main event of the 10-day Stampede of Speed, the 40th annual Texas NHRA FallNationals.
The massive event starts the second half of the playoffs in the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series and Kalitta is in the driver’s seat, holding an 86-point lead over Justin Ashley with three races remaining.
Kalitta won the most recent race in St. Louis and a second straight victory would make the veteran a strong favorite to clinch a second world title. He’s also thrilled to return to Texas Motorplex in his 12,000-horsepower Mobil DELVAC 100th Anniversary dragster, focused on putting on a great show at the can’t-miss event. Continue reading
JEGS ALLSTARS GETS MAJOR SPOTLIGHT AT TEXAS MOTORPLEX FOR STAMPEDE OF SPEED AND TEXAS NHRA FALLNATIONALS
ENNIS, TX – The JEGS Allstars has quickly become a major highlight as part of Texas Motorplex’s Stampede of Speed, and the historic
specialty race returns to the famed facility for a third straight year during the upcoming Texas NHRA FallNationals on Oct. 8-12.
The event moved to the track in 2023 and has continued to grow – both in action and prestige – and will be a huge part of the upcoming Texas NHRA FallNationals, which celebrates its 40th year in 2025.
It’s become a marquee attraction during the massive Stampede of Speed at Texas Motorplex, with the world’s top drivers in the Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series competing in the unique event. Continue reading
NHRA RELEASES PRO STOCK AND PRO STOCK MOTORCYCLE SCHEDULES FOR 75TH ANNIVERSARY SEASON IN 2026
Pro Stock set to compete at all 20 races; PSM to race at 14 events, as well as GETTRX All-Star Callout in Sonoma
INDIANAPOLIS – NHRA officials announced the 2026 schedule for the Pro Stock and Pro Stock Motorcycle categories in the Mission Foods
Drag Racing Series, including the dates for the GETTRX NHRA All-Star Callout in both categories.
As part of the NHRA’s 75th anniversary season in 2026, Pro Stock will compete at all 20 races next year, giving fans across the country the chance to see the standout category in action. The special 75th NHRA season begins with the 56th annual NHRA Gatornationals on March 5-8 at legendary Gainesville Raceway.
It puts Top Fuel, Funny Car and Pro Stock at all 20 events in 2026, while Pro Stock Motorcycle will be contested at 14 races, plus the GETTRX All-Star Callout in Sonoma.
Pro Stock Motorcycle will open its season with the category’s traditional opener in Gainesville, and will also race at the four-wide race in Charlotte and at South Georgia Motorsports Park during NHRA’s national event debut there. The two-wheeled category will also compete in Chicago, as part of NHRA’s national event debut at Maryland International Raceway, Bristol and Norwalk in a busy May and June.
The eight riders who qualify for the GETTRX Pro Stock Motorcycle Callout will compete in the bonus race at the Denso NHRA Sonoma Nationals on July 17-18. The eight standouts will only compete in the Callout in Sonoma, as it won’t serve as one of the 14 points-earning events for the category. Continue reading
SIX NHRA MISSION FOODS DRAG RACING SERIES DRIVERS ELIGIBLE FOR 2025 ROOKIE OF THE YEAR
INDIANAPOLIS – NHRA officials announced the six NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing competitors currently in contention for the 2025 NHRA Rookie of the Year award.
The competitors eligible for this year’s award include Funny Car drivers Hunter Green and Spencer Hyde; Pro Stock’s Stephen Bell, Cody Coughlin and Matt Latino; and Pro Stock Motorcycle rider Brayden Davis. Pro Stock newcomer Chris Vang has competed in three races so far in 2025 and will become the seventh driver eligible with his scheduled appearances in Dallas and the fall race in Las Vegas.
Green, son of Gainesville Funny Car winner Chad Green, has three quarterfinal appearances in 2025. He’s qualified for all nine events he attended, including a career-best third in Brainerd. Continue reading

Kalitta extends lead with TF triumph, FC’s Hagan pulls within 20 points of Prock, Anderson gets sixth PS win of 2025, Herrera gets back on track with PSM victory
ST. LOUIS – Four-time Funny Car world champ Matt Hagan defeated Jack Beckman in the final round on Sunday at World Wide Technology
Raceway, picking up the victory for Tony Stewart Racing and staying alive in the championship mix in front of a huge crowd at the NAPA Auto Parts NHRA Midwest Nationals.
Doug Kalitta (Top Fuel), Greg Anderson (Pro Stock) and Gaige Herrera (Pro Stock Motorcycle) also won the 17th of 20 races during the 2025 NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series season and the third of six races in the Countdown to the Championship playoffs.
In the final round, Hagan went 3.979-seconds at 329.34 mph in his 12,000-horsepower American Rebel Beer Dodge//SRT Hellcat, holding off Beckman’s 4.036 to win for the second time this season and the 54th time in his career. After qualifying second and running well all weekend, Hagan defeated Alex Laughlin, Cruz Pedregon and Daniel Wilkerson to advance to the final round. Continue reading
Mercier, Worsham, Stubbs, Montecalvo Headline Winners at IHRA Outlaw Nitro Series
WEST SALEM, OH — Dan Mercier and Del Worsham won Top Fuel and Funny Car races at the IHRA Outlaw Nitro Series event at Darana
Dragway — West Salem, Ohio.
They earned the $50,000 winners’ purses and the prestigious IHRA Ironman trophies with the races live-streamed on IHRA.TV and SPEED SPORT 1.
Other winners included: John Montecalvo in Mountain Motor Pro Stock, Hank Stubbs in Outlaw Pro Mod, Rickie Smith in Pro Nitrous, Wesley Distekano in Pro Mod, Ryan Peery in Top Fuel Harley, Courtney Moeller in Outlaw Snowmobile, Rachel Curl in Top Alcohol Dragster and Phil Esz in Top Alcohol Funny Car.
The Fuel Altereds also made their IHRA Outlaw Nitro Series debut as No. 1 qualifier Ryan Hill raced to the win.
Mercier won the Top Fuel final over Jake Sanders, who upset No. 1 qualifier Scott Palmer in the opening round. Mercier beat Smax Smith in the quarterfinals and Lex Joon in the semifinals before his final-round victory. Continue reading
PROCK, KALITTA, LATINO AND HERRERA LOCK UP NO. 1 POSITIONS AT NHRA MIDWEST NATIONALS
ST. LOUIS – Reigning Funny Car world champion Austin Prock locked up his fifth No. 1 qualifier of the season on Saturday at the 14th
annual NAPA Auto Parts NHRA Midwest Nationals in front of a sold-out crowd at Worldwide Technology Raceway.
The Funny Car points leader is looking for his first win at the fan-favorite race track and second of the Countdown to the Championship playoffs. With the momentum from his win just six days ago, Prock has confidence in his Cornwell Tools Chevrolet SS Funny Car team.
“I’m looking forward to tomorrow,” said Prock. “We figured out what not to do today and we’ll be able to get after it tomorrow. I feel good. I’m excited. I never have a doubt in my mind even when we stumble that we can’t just get right back to running low ET the next round.”

WORLD WIDE TECHNOLOGY RACEWAY SELLS OUT FOR SATURDAY NAPA AUTO PARTS NHRA MIDWEST NATIONALS
ST. LOUIS – The NHRA and World Wide Technology Raceway announced on Saturday a sellout at the 14th annual NAPA Auto Parts NHRA
Midwest Nationals.
“Today’s sold-out crowd at the NAPA Auto Parts NHRA Midwest Nationals in St. Louis showcases the unmatched passion of our drag racing fans,” said NHRA President Glen Cromwell. “World Wide Technology Raceway’s significant investments in expanding the facility, upgrading grandstands and suites, and elevating the fan experience have transformed this venue into a premier destination for motorsports. Today’s enthusiastic turnout is a powerful testament to the value of our fans and the strength of this track within the NHRA community.”
World Wide Technology Raceway implemented a variety of upgrades including a brand-new East Grandstand as well as additional video screens for an enhanced viewing of the races for the Nitro 2 and West Grandstands. The new East Grandstands, which were completed the week of the race, provide fans with improved views.
