BRITTANY FORCE POISED FOR MORE RACE DAY SUCCESS AT BRAINERD INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY

BRAINERD, MN — Brittany Force, back in her Monster Energy green and black Top Fuel dragster for this weekend’s Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals, heads to Brainerd International Raceway with high hopes as she sits eighth in the Mello Yello points standings. Being in the bottom half of the field isn’t something the reigning world champion is worried about after her team battled from sixth to claim the category crown in 2017.

The Monster Energy team picked 18 of 24 round wins in the final six races of the season and finished the season sweeping the Auto Club Finals. The standout team secured the No. 1 qualifier, won the championship with a second-round victory on Sunday and went on to finish the season with the race win. This season, Force has arguably already overcome her toughest challenge of her career.

Force opened the 2018 season with a devastating crash, has a win and No. 1 qualifier to her credit. Her victory at the Houston SpringNationals was emotional and a true team effort. After her accident at the Winternationals destroyed a brand-new car built especially for the 2018 season, her team was forced to switch to their back-up car, the dragster Force won the 2017 championship in, while the Force American Made shop in Brownsburg, Indiana, set to building the world championship team a brand-new dragster. That dragster debuted in Houston, no test runs, and in eight passes, won the Monster Energy team their first race of the season.

BRITTANY FORCE READY TO PEAK JUST IN TIME FOR NHRA COUNTDOWN TO THE CHAMPIONSHIP

KENT, WA — Her reign as Top Fuel world champion has been fraught with frustration but when they raise the curtain on this year’s Countdown to the Championship, no one expects anything but excellence from Brittany Force and the PEAK Coolant and Motor Oil Monster Energy race team.

A graduate of Cal State-Fullerton, Force rolls into Pacific Raceways for this week’s 31st annual CatSpot NHRA Northwest Nationals in eighth place in Top Fuel points, nowhere near where she and crew chief Brian Husen and tuning consultant Alan Johnson expected themselves to be with just three races remaining before the points are adjusted for the Countdown.

Nevertheless, Force knows that there still is time to generate momentum in advance of the playoffs. She also knows that if you’re in it, you can win it. She won last year from a No. 6 starting spot, but she could have won from No. 10 just like John Force Racing teammate Robert Hight did in 2009.

Auto Club of Southern California driver Robert Hight joins 338 mph club, races to Topeka semifinals

John out in Round 1, Courtney and Brittany in round 2

TOPEKA, KS – Robert Hight and his Auto Club of Southern California Chevrolet Camaro SS Funny Car keep getting faster and faster.

Hight raised his career-best speed at the Menards NHRA Heartland Nationals on Sunday at Heartland Park Topeka. But he fell short of the ultimate goal of winning the race after smoking the tires in the semifinals.

“We are going rounds, we are running so good,” Hight said. “Anything less than a final round, you feel like you failed. We are going rounds, (I’m) driving all right. This was kind of a different set of circumstances with the conditions we had this weekend, it was pretty amazing. We just gotta put four together.”
