LANGDON, DEJORIA, GLENN AND DAVIS GET FRIDAY’S NO. 1 PROVISIONAL SPOTS AT SUPER GRIP NHRA THUNDER VALLEY NATIONALS

BRISTOL, TN – Top Fuel’s Shawn Langdon led the way during a rain-shortened Friday at Bristol Dragway, taking the provisional No. 1 qualifier at the 24th annual Super Grip NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals.

Alexis DeJoria (Funny Car), Dallas Glenn (Pro Stock) and Brayden Davis (Pro Stock Motorcycle) are also the provisional No. 1 qualifiers at the eighth of 20 races during the 2025 NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series season. The second session in Top Fuel was canceled due to rain, while Funny Car ran all but one pair (Austin Prock and Jack Beckman) during the second session.

Langdon went 3.800-seconds at 328.54 mph in his 12,000-horsepower Kalitta Air Careers dragster during Top Fuel’s lone qualifying session. If it holds, it would give the former world champion his first No. 1 qualifier of the season and 22nd in his career, also snapping Kalitta Motorsports teammate Doug Kalitta’s streak of four straight No. 1 qualifiers. Though they made just one run, Langdon was pleased with the way the team rebounded after a rare first-round loss in Epping last weekend. Continue reading

FUNNY CAR’S J.R. TODD EAGER TO STAY ON WINNING TRACK AT SUPER GRIP NHRA THUNDER VALLEY NATIONALS

BRISTOL, TN – After winning Sunday in Epping, snapping a 25-race winless streak in the process, Funny Car’s J.R. Todd would like to see the wait for his next victory reduced dramatically. In fact, it could be only a week if the former world champion keeps rolling at this weekend’s 24th annual Super Grip NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals at scenic Bristol Dragway.

Todd and his Kalitta Motorsports team, led by crew chief Dickie Venables, impressed last week en route to his first victory since the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series opener in 2024. Venables took over as crew chief in the off-season, bringing an impressive championship resumé.

Though there were some early-season struggles, Todd and the group have been building and the results in their 12,000-horsepower DHL Toyota GR Supra were apparent in Epping. Repeating that would be ideal, especially as Todd, who has 22 career victories, seeks his first career win in Thunder Valley.

“This sport goes in waves. You’re only as good as your last race,” Todd said. “We’ve done well at Bristol in the past, so I’m excited to go there. I like that race and I’ve always wanted to win there. I’ve been to some finals there, but it’s never worked out. We have a car that can contend with these guys and I’m excited for what we have. TOP FUEL CHAMP ANTRON BROWN LOOKS TO CONQUER BRISTOL FOR FIRST TIME AT SUPER GRIP NHRA THUNDER VALLEY NATIONALS

BRISTOL, TN – Antron Brown has put together one of the most impressive resumés in NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series history, racking up four Top Fuel world championships – including the latest in 2024 – and 81 event wins.

After this weekend’s 24th annual Super Grip NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals at Bristol Dragway, Brown hopes to add another note to his lengthy list of achievements – his first win in Thunder Valley.

Brown has accomplished nearly everything in NHRA drag racing, but a win at Bristol Dragway is remarkably one of the few things that has evaded him over the years. In the midst of a rigorous stretch that includes four races in five weeks, now would be the perfect time for Brown to get one in his 12,000-horsepower Matco Tools dragster.

Coming off a semifinal appearance on Sunday in Epping and currently sitting third in points on the strength of one win and three final-round appearances in 2025, Brown is eager to get to Bristol and hopefully mark one more item off his NHRA bucket list. Continue reading

B. FORCE, TODD & ANDERSON CLAW THEIR WAY TO WINS AT NHRA NEW ENGLAND NATIONALS

EPPING, NH – Top Fuel’s Brittany Force picked up her first victory of the season, making a pair of 340-mph runs on Sunday at New England Dragway and defeating points leader Tony Stewart in the final round of the 12th annual NHRA New England Nationals.

J.R. Todd (Funny Car) and Greg Anderson (Pro Stock) also won the seventh of 20 races during the 2025 NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series season.

Force went 3.694-seconds at 340.39 mph in the finals in her 12,000-horsepower Monster Energy dragster to track down Stewart, who has now advanced to five straight final rounds. He left the starting line first and went 3.720 at 329.91, but Force caught him at the finish line to win for the first time in 2025 and 18th time in her career.

It ties her with Shirley Muldowney for the most wins by a female in Top Fuel history and comes a year after her father, legendary Funny Car driver John Force, won in Epping. It was his last win before an explosive crash two weeks later in Richmond. To get to the finals, Force knocked off Clay Millican, Shawn Reed and No. 1 qualifier Doug Kalitta, going a whopping 3.681 at a track-record 341.42 in the semifinals, just off her world-record blast of 341.59 from last month in Charlotte. Kalitta continues to roll in qualifying; Prock and C. Coughlin also take No. 1 spots at New England Dragway

EPPING, NH – Top Fuel veteran Doug Kalitta continued an incredible qualifying run on Saturday at New England Dragway, keeping Kalitta Motorsports undefeated in Top Fuel in the Mission #2Fast2Tasty Challenge with a victory over Tony Stewart, setting the track speed record and also qualifying No. 1 for the fourth straight race at the 12th annual NHRA New England Nationals.

Jack Beckman (Funny Car) and Matt Hartford (Pro Stock) won the Mission #2Fast2Tasty Challenge as well, while Austin Prock (Funny Car) and Cody Coughlin (Pro Stock) qualified No. 1 at the seventh of 20 races during the 2025 NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series season.

Kalitta Motorsports’ Top Fuel duo of Kalitta and Langdon have now won all six Mission #2Fast2Tasty Challenge bonus races in 2025, with Kalitta taking his fourth victory of the year after going 3.670-seconds at 337.24 mph in his 12,000-horsepower Mac Tools dragster. It also sent him back to the No. 1 spot for the fourth straight race and the fifth time in seven races during what was the latest spectacular showing in qualifying.

Kalitta’s massive speed set the track record as well, as the veteran looks to win in Epping for the second straight year and pick up his first 2025 event victory as well. Continue reading
