Full Pro Final Qualifying Results and Round 1 Eliminations of  Mission #2Fast2Tasty NHRA Challenge

POMONA, CA – Brittany Force powered to the top spot to close out qualifying on Saturday at In-N-Out Burger Pomona Dragstrip, earning her first No. 1 qualifier of the 2024 NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series season at the 64th annual Lucas Oil NHRA Winternationals.

Matt Hagan (Funny Car) and Dallas Glenn (Pro Stock) also qualified No. 1 at the second of 20 races during the 2024 NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series.

After a lengthy rain delay, Force put together a run of 3.711-seconds at 335.73 mph in her 11,000-horsepower Mark Christopher Auto Center Chevrolet/Monster Energy dragster. It was the lone qualifying session due to weather and Force claimed her 47th career No. 1 qualifier with the standout run. She’ll open eliminations looking for her first victory since 2022 when she finished the year as world champion.

“That was a good, consistent run and that’s what we’re focused on,” Force said. “We’re in a good place and it’s pretty awesome to have 47 No. 1 qualifiers. That’s (crew chief) David Grubnic and this entire team. But our focus is on raceday and trying to get a win. We’re ready for tomorrow.”

MATCHUPS FOR FIRST MISSION #2FAST2TASTY NHRA CHALLENGE OF 2024 SET FOR LUCAS OIL NHRA WINTERNATIONALS

POMONA, CA – The Mission #2Fast2Tasty NHRA Challenge is back in 2024 and the first matchups in the Saturday specialty event are set for next weekend’s 64th annual Lucas Oil NHRA Winternationals at In-N-Out Burger Pomona Dragstrip.

After a wildly-successful first year in 2023, the unique challenge is back for 2024, bringing competitive racing to the qualifying schedule during the regular season in the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series. The Challenge pits semifinalists from the previous race against each other, with the two winners matching up as part of Saturday’s final qualifying session.

There’s a bonus purse and bonus points for the Countdown to the Championship on the line, putting a major importance on Saturday success starting next weekend in Pomona.

“After we got by (Ron) Capps in the second round (at Gainesville), we knew we were in (the Challenge) and that’s great. It’s a nice bonus for us,” said Funny Car’s J.R. Todd, who won in Gainesville to start the 2024 season. “It’s definitely a nice incentive. When we won the deal in Sonoma, that was a cool perk and then we won on Sunday. It definitely gives you a pep in your step.”

MISSION FOODS ENTERS MULTI-YEAR DEAL AS TITLE SPONSOR OF NHRA’S PREMIER PROFESSIONAL SERIES

NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series will also include Mission #2Fast2Tasty NHRA Challenge at 14 races in 2024 after successful debut this season

INDIANAPOLIS – The NHRA and Mission Foods, the world’s leading brand for tortillas and wraps, announced today that Mission Foods has been named the title sponsor of the NHRA’s premier professional series, which will be known as the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series beginning with the 2024 season.

The multi-year professional series title partnership will be in full swing starting next year as the NHRA celebrates its 73rd year in 2024, and comes after a successful first-year partnership between the two companies this season. Mission Foods and NHRA partnered together this year for the Mission #2Fast2Tasty NHRA Challenge, introducing competitive racing – as well as a bonus purse and bonus playoff points – to Saturday qualifying. The overwhelming success of the current program helped lead to the expansion of the series title partnership for Mission Foods, which will include significant activation at the track and nearby store locations for all 21 national events.

The popular Mission #2Fast2Tasty NHRA Challenge will return in 2024 as part of the growing partnership, increasing to 14 regular-season events, including the two four-wide races, and offering an increased purse. The series title partnership and the Challenge continue Mission Foods’ overall motorsports initiative to help racers and race teams.

J. FORCE, ASHLEY, STANFIELD AND HERRERA WIN MISSION #2FAST2TASTY NHRA CHALLENGE AT INDY

INDIANAPOLIS – Funny Car legend John Force claimed his first win in the Mission #2Fast2Tasty NHRA Challenge, defeating back-to-back world champ Ron Capps in the final round on Saturday at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park as part of this weekend’s 69th annual Dodge Power Brokers NHRA U.S. Nationals.

Justin Ashley (Top Fuel), Aaron Stanfield (Pro Stock) and Gaige Herrera (Pro Stock Motorcycle) also won the Mission #2Fast2Tasty NHRA Challenge at the world’s biggest drag race in Indy.

Force went 3.989-seconds at 328.78 mph in his 11,000-horsepower PEAK Chevrolet Camaro SS to defeat Capps, picking up the victory in the bonus race for the first time in 2023. Force knocked off teammate Robert Hight earlier in the day before getting past his longtime rival in the finals, adding another chapter to his rich Indy legacy.

“I want to win the Mission deal, but it was an opportunity that I got away with it,” Force said. “You just do what you do and attack it. I’m not saying what I do is right, it’s just what I do. Some days, the good Lord lets me get away with it, and I did today. It was good to come in here to Indy and be able to do your job at my age. I ain’t great, but I’m good enough to be here, and I’m going to get better. I have a lot of work to do, but I’m no spring chicken. I’ve won Indy five times, but it was a good feeling to do this.”

Brown and his AB Motorsports team secured a spot in the Mission Foods-backed specialty race by advancing into the semifinals at last week’s event in Topeka, Kan. The first #2Fast2Tasty elimination round featured a rematch between Brown and Justin Ashley, the Top Fuel point leader and Topeka event winner. HAGAN, TORRENCE AND GLENN WIN MISSION #2FAST2TASTY NHRA CHALLENGE IN TOPEKA

TOPEKA, KS – Funny Car’s Matt Hagan powered to his second win in the Mission #2Fast2Tasty NHRA Challenge for Tony Stewart Racing on Saturday at Heartland Motorsports Park, defeating Chad Green in the final round of the bonus race as part of this weekend’s Menards NHRA Nationals presented by PetArmor.

Steve Torrence (Top Fuel) and Dallas Glenn (Pro Stock) also won the Mission #2Fast2Tasty NHRA Challenge in Topeka.

Hagan made the best Funny Car run on Saturday, going 3.960-seconds at 318.24 mph in his 11,000-horsepower American Rebel Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat, racing past Green’s 4.039 at 313.73 in the championship round of the bonus race. Hagan, who is second in points, won the bonus race in Denver and capped off that weekend with an event win, and will look to do the same this weekend in Topeka. He defeated J.R. Todd earlier in the way, chasing down Green to finish off his day in style.

“That bonus money goes a long way with my guys, and you want to dig deep on the starting line for them,” Hagan said. “But Chad had a .010 light against me, he was digging a little bit deeper than I was, I think. Chad’s a great driver, he’s come a long way with his program and what he’s doing. They’re a tough car, and there’s just no easy draws out here. You have to bring everything you’ve got, and then you have to bring a little bit more. That’s just what it takes to turn win lights on in a Funny Car.
