Robertson Eaton Backed TA/FC Headed to Matco Tools “Summer Showdown” at Cordova Dragway
Harrison TWP, MI – In their last outing at the Division three event in Jolliet, Ill. the Eaton TA/FC team of Todd Robertson was able to
crack the tough eight car field but went out early to former TAD World Champion Jay Payne in round one.
“Jay Payne is an impressive racer. He’s won a ton of races in the Top Alcohol ranks. We knew we were a long shot against him but, we gave it our best shot. We’ve got no excuses and we don’t need any. We are on a steep learning curve and we keep inching our way up each time out,” said Crew Chief, Dennis Kolomyjec.
This weekend the Eaton Funny Car team is headed to Cordova, IL for the fourth of six NHRA North Central Regional events.
Bauer Racing wins Best Appearing Award at NHRA Div. 1 LODRS; Heads North for Quick 32 Series at TMP
Elma, NY – Winning a “Best Appearing” award at an NHRA event is a big deal to racers but, it means a little more to a guy like Top
Sportsman racer, Bob Bauer. Almost a week after being voted the best appearing car at the NHRA division one event in Lebanon Valley, NY Bauer was still beaming. Just before he awarded Morgan Mandwaring her second $75.00 K100/Bauer Racing number one qualifier award of the season at Bauer’s home track, Elegant Builder’s Raceway Park; he commented on the award.
“When the official told me I was the winner, I was put back a bit because of how some of the other cars looked. I’m very happy for the exposure my sponsor will receive from the award and for the recognition my team receives. We ALWAYS keep our stuff clean and neat. So, being noticed for it really means something to us,” said Bauer.
K100 and Bauer Racing Head to Lebanon Valley for NHRA Northeast Divisional
Elma, NY – Bauer Racing will be taking their K100 Fuel Treatments backed Pontiac GTO to Lebanon Valley Dragway for this weekend’s
NHRA/Lucas Oil Division One Event.
Team Owner/Driver, Bob Bauer was very pleased with the team’s last outing at the Norwalk Division Three event last month. “We went out in the second round pretty hard. I cut a .002 light but lost by less than five hundredths of a second when John Scali ran dead on his dial. Those ones are tough but, we were very happy with the car’s performance especially since it was the first time out since the crash last year. We still have some fine tuning to do but John at Torrelli Pro Cars did a fantastic job repairing the car and Mike Mitchell and my son Robert worked very hard to finish the final fabrication and assembly,” said Bauer.
With the teams renewed confidence in their chariot they are hoping to go more rounds in Lebanon Valley.
Robertson “Steering” Eaton Backed TA/FC to Chi-Town for NHRA Lucas Oil “Burndown at Sundown”
Harrison TWP. MI – After a less than successful outing at the Division 3 season opener in April; Todd Robertson and his Eaton Top
Alcohol Funny Car team feel they are headed in the right direction as they travel to Joliet, Illinois’ Route 66 Raceway for this weekend’s NHRA Sportsman event, the “Burndown at Sundown” presented by Four Seasons Heating, Air Conditioning and Plumbing.
“Each time we go out we learn more about running a Funny Car,” said Robertson. “I’ve had issues with steering since my first time in the car but, with no real comparison in my driving history I just thought it was me. Come to find out it was more the car than me. This car was built for someone else originally. It was fitted to him. I fit into the car different than him. So, the leverage I have when trying to turn the car is less than what he had. After the last race we removed and rebuilt the steering on the car and made it easier for me to control the car. That was probably our biggest issue and it should show instant results,” added team owner/driver Todd Robertson.
K100 and Bauer Racing Present Junior Dragster Bonus at Elegant Builders Raceway Park
Elma, NY – Top Sportsman racer, Bob Bauer, and his sponsor, K100 Fuel Treatment, have partnered to present Western New York
Junior Dragster Racers with a Top Qualifier Bonus for the 2013 season.
K100 Fuel Treatment sponsored Top Sportsman racer, Bob Bauer came up the idea for the award to help support a program that he feels deeply about.
“My son, Robert, won the Juniors Track Championship at Lancaster the last two years, but he will be moving up to a full sized dragster this year. My wife, Michelle, and I supported Robert for years with the Junior Program and we know how much goes into the program. It’s a great learning experience for the kids; not just with racing but with responsibility. Both the kids and the parents make sacrifices in order to race and being able to give back in a small way is something I feel very proud to be able to do. I even happier that I can do this with my sponsor K100,” said Bob Bauer.
Blown Money Team Looking for “Rare Air” at 44th annual Toyota NHRA Summernationals
Grand Junction, CO – Old Bridge Township Raceway Park in Englishtown, New Jersey has a reputation for producing some of drag
racing’s quickest and fastest times. Its location and proximity to sea level (20ft above sea level) and track preparation have plenty to do with those numbers. Racers use corrected altitude readings to tune their engines. They take in account the air temperature, the amount of water in the air and the barometric pressure.
These readings give them a corrected altitude. The lower the reading, the more oxygen content there is in the air. The more oxygen an engine gets; the more fuel it can burn and the more power it can make. This combined with the great traction consistently produce the rare occurrence of record breaking numbers.
Mike Knowles and his crew have been creeping up on their combination for a while now and seem to have a good hold on running in conditions like those that are expected at Englishtown.
Eaton Backed Todd Robertson “READY” for Sophomore Season in TA/FC
Harrison TWP, MI – After more than 20 years behind the wheel of sprung doorslammer Harrison Township, Michigan’s Todd
Robertson made a huge leap into the ultra competitive world of NHRA Top Alcohol Funny Car in 2012 and Todd will be the first to tell you it’s WAY harder than it looks.
“We ran a screw on our last Pro Mod and thought we’d be OK when we made the jump to the Funny Car. Man, was it an eye opener’ said Team Owner/Driver, Todd Robertson.
“These cars, even though they have no suspension, have their own way of chassis tuning that we really weren’t familiar with. Our entire first year we learned something every day. Some things we had to learn were things that the other teams just took for granted as a given. By the end of last year we were able to get into the field and get comfortable with our operation. I guess the best way to describe our experience so far in Funny Car is… We were a big fish in a small pond on the local Pro Mod scene. Then when we went to the Funny Car we were a Guppy in an ocean full of Sharks. Guess what! It’s a year later and the Guppy is still swimming and a lot smarter,” laughed Robertson.
Knowles “Blown Money” Team Excited for Amalie Motor Oil NHRA GATORNATIONALS
Grand Junction, CO – Mike Knowles finished the 2012 season one round out of the top 10 in points; in 2013 he and his “Blown Money”
team are excited at the prospect of a much higher finish.
“Last season had it’s ups and downs but in the end everything worked out for the best. My crew is much tighter knit now and I feel more in control. Me and my guys work very well together. We’ve finished some off-season testing a few weeks ago and ran into some issues with the car but, were able to regroup and get things figured out. That’s a good feeling. It really gave us some confidence and excitement heading into this year”, said Knowles.
The “Blown Money” team had hoped to debut their new Tim McAmis Race Cars “Mob Themed” Mustang this weekend but will instead shoot for a Charlotte debut if testing goes well before then.

Grand Junction, CO – “It’s nothing personal, it’s just business.” Just about every movie, T.V. show, and book about the MOB has
featured that line and that’s what drew Mike Knowles’ interest to an era of American crime and business beginning in the 1920’s.
“I enjoy the history of the old families. The organizational skills they had and the respect they showed each other, without letting personal feelings get in the way, is really inspiring as a business man,” said Knowles from the offices of Knowles Enterprises in Grand Junction, Colorado. “Don’t get me wrong. They did plenty of bad things but, the way they ran their businesses was fascinating,” added Knowles.

Grand Junction, CO – Mike Knowles is a throwback of sorts on the NHRA trail. He’s an independent professional racer. Among the sea
of highly sponsored teams in the Pro Pits at an NHRA event Mike Knowles and his “Blown Money” team stick out like a sore thumb, but not for any bad reasons.
Knowles’ team is a class act with a pit space and transporter even the top pros on the circuit envy. His Pro Mod Camaro is as detailed as a Riddler award winner and it can run 240 to boot. Everything about the operation says “I did it my way”.
“I never had it easy when I was growing up and I worked hard for everything I have. Coming to the races is a vacation from my day to day duties at Knowles Enterprises but it doesn’t mean I don’t work hard here. I’ve been through the high dollar tuners and large crews and I finally found a small group of guys; led by Bill Rice and my longtime friend, Bart Sunn, that work harder than any crew I’ve had. I now drive and tune the car, with input from Bill, and I’m having fun again. I guess I just had to do it my way,” said team owner/driver Mike Knowles.
