COURTNEY FORCE QUALIFIES No. 1 AT WINTERNATIONALS

POMONA, CA – Courtney Force and her Traxxas Chevrolet Camaro SS Funny Car team got the jump on the Courtney Force - Q3 - Pomonacompetition today at the Circle K NHRA Winternationals in Pomona, Calif. when they made their first official sub four-second run and became the first No. 1 qualifier of 2015 in the Funny Car class. The 26-year-old posted a 3.995 second ET at 322.65 mph rocketing to the top of the field in the third qualifying session. This is her eighth No. 1 qualifier.

The last time a Chevrolet Camaro was No. 1 qualifier was Tony Pedregon at the Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in 2004.

JOHN FORCE PROVISIONAL No. 3 QUALIFIER ON FRIDAY

POMONA – After a tumultuous off-season John Force Racing started the 2015 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing John Force - Pnoma 2015 - FridaySeries season with a strong first day of qualifying and high hopes for Saturday at Auto Club Raceway at Pomona. The team’s efforts were led by 16-time NHRA Funny Car champion and defending Circle K Winternationals Funny Car champion John Force’s provisional No. 3 qualifying effort, 4.061 seconds at 313.66 mph.

Force posted his best time on Friday in the first qualifying session running within one thousandth of a second of the top spot and picked up two qualifying bonus points for the effort. At the top end Force expressed his excitement to be back on the track.

JOHN FORCE RACING WRAPS UP SUCCESSFUL PRE-SEASON TEST SESSION IN PHOENIX

CHANDLER, AZ – John Force Racing wrapped up the 2014 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series season with three Brittany Force - Phoenix testingFunny Cars in the top five and a top ten finisher in Top Fuel. As soon as the NHRA Awards Banquet was over the entire operation went to work to get better for 2015. After an off-season of hard work at the sprawling race team complex in Brownsburg, Indiana, the entire team saw success during a four day test session at Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park, site of the Carquest NHRA Nationals, February 20-22.

“We have a lot of talent here. We had a lot of change in our crews which was our biggest challenge. We are excited to have Lucas Oil on board. Naturally PEAK coming on board with my Chevrolet Camaro SS Funny Car is big. You look at our new Funny Car body we worked with the NHRA on to get it approved,” said John Force. “We didn’t think it would be any better or any worse. It is 15-17 pounds heavier now. My guys have already put me on a diet.”

JOHN FORCE RACING ANNOUNCES CREW CHIEF LINE-UP, PROMOTIONS

YORBA LINDA, CA – John Force Racing has a proven track record of developing the next generation of professional Mike Neff Tim Fabrisidrivers. Since 2005 five drivers, including all three of John Force’s daughters, have won rookie of the year honors as well as over 50 NHRA national event titles. Force has also built a legacy of creating a brain-trust of crew chiefs over the past decade. The brain-trust will continue to be led by Mike Neff, crew chief for Robert Hight’s Auto Club Camaro SS Funny Car, but the team announced promotions today that will expand the youth and depth at this position.

Starting with the promotion of Jon Schaffer to crew chief of 16-time Funny Car champion John Force’s Funny Car the 18-time Funny Car championship team will continue to be an industry leader. Previously Schaffer worked with Mike Neff as his assistant crew chief, but the 27 year-old Californian will be making the calls on Force’s PEAK Camaro SS Funny Car beginning with testing in Phoenix. Long-time crewman Tim Fabrisi will be stepping up to assist Neff on the Auto Club Camaro SS Funny Car.

JOHN FORCE RETURNS TO HIS CHEVROLET ROOTS

YORBA LINDA, CA – John Force Racing, Inc. and Chevrolet announced today that they will be joining forces to back 2015 JOHN FORCE CHEVROLET  CAMAROthe 18-time NHRA Funny Car championship team starting with the 2015 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series season. The multi-year agreement will see all three John Force Racing Chevrolet Camaro Funny Cars adorned with the iconic gold bowtie as well as the JFR Top Fuel dragster.

BRITTANY FORCE EXCITED ABOUT BUILDING ON 2014 SUCCESS IN 2015

Top Fuel driver Brittany Force talks about her sophomore season with an eye on her third year racing in the NHRA’s Brittany Force by Ron Lewisquickest and fastest pro category. In 2014 Force raced to four final rounds and three No. 1 qualifiers on the way to reaching the Countdown for the first time in her young professional career.

What was the biggest highlight for you last season?

Brittany Force: The biggest highlight of my 2014 season was locking into the NHRA Mello Yello Countdown in the No. 7 position in Brainerd. That was a proud moment for me knowing regardless of the final races I would be standing on stage at our awards banquet next to the best Top Fuel drivers!

ROBERT HIGHT LOOKS BACK AT 2014 AND AHEAD TO 2015

What was the biggest highlight for you last season?

Robert Hight: Winning five races which was the most of any Funny Car driver last year was the highlight. We had a good run at the beginning of the year and we went to a lot of finals. We went a little flat in the middle and towards the end of the season but getting those five wins was a good start. That was the first full season I have been with (crew chief) Mike Neff and I am excited about next year since we are all staying together. We’ll be looking for more wins and better results. I believe with what we have in place we can really do that.

COURTNEY FORCE LOOKS BACK AT 2014 AND FORWARD TO 2015

Traxxas Funny Car driver Courtney Force looks back at the 2014 season and also turns her attention to the 2015 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Courtney Force - Win, Sonoma - Gary NastaseSeries. In 2014 Force raced to four wins (a season high for a female in the Funny Car class) as well as a No. 4 finish in the Mello Yello point standings.

What was the biggest highlight for you last season?

Courtney Force: The biggest highlight for me was becoming the winningest female in Funny Car history, after our Traxxas team picked up our 5th win of my career, in Sonoma, CA. Going into the Countdown and getting back-to-back wins totaling seven of my career, made this a highlight in itself.

Can you talk about your growth as a driver in your third season?

CF: It’s unbelievable to think I have just completed my third season in Funny Car. As a driver I think I’ve pushed myself harder than ever before and am learning with every pass, at every track on the circuit. I think we have reached a point where we are strong as a team and I’ve been working hard to make less mistakes and try to improve my lights growth in myself as the years go on. Plus we made our best finish yet, concluding the 2014 season where we finished 4th!
