IHRA Outlaw Nitro Series Returns to Darana Raceway – Hebron

HEBRON, OH —  The adrenaline-pumping IHRA Outlaw Nitro Series featuring 12,000-horsepower, fire-breathing Funny Cars and Top Fuel dragsters, returns to Darana Raceway – Hebron, OH (formerly National Trail Raceway), Sept. 3-6.

The IHRA Outlaw Nitro Series had an extremely successful debut at Darana Raceway back in July. Scott Palmer and Mike McIntire headlined the list of history-making winners with their victories in the Top Fuel and Funny Car classes.

IHRA Unveils Dates for 2026 Schedule with New Venues to Be Revealed

FAIRFIELD, OH — The International Hot Rod Association (IHRA) has announced dates for its 2026 season schedule, featuring 12 events across the year. The season is set to kick off in January, followed by one date in February and one in March.

Focusing on 2026 dates early ensures racers, teams, and fans can begin making plans for the season as the IHRA finalizes the locations with premier venues.

2026 IHRA Schedule:  March 4–7, April 9–12, April 22-25, May 13–16, June 17–20, July 8–11, August 12–15, September 9–12, October 7–10, November 4–7

Weatherford Wins $125,000 Payday at IHRA Outlaw Pro Mod Nationals

MILAN, MI — Randy Weatherford was No. 1 in qualifying and stayed on top throughout eliminations to capture the $125,000 IHRA Outlaw Pro Mod Nationals victory Saturday at Darana Dragway – Milan.

Weatherford received a bye in the first round of eliminations and advanced to the final with wins over Bubba Greene, Kurt Steding, and Robin Roberts. The race was broadcast live on IHRA.TV and SPEED SPORT 1.

Kallee Mills, the No. 7 qualifier, was Weatherford’s opponent in the final round. Mills beat Kyle Canion in the opening round, and then scored wins over Robert Davis, Jason Harris, and Ken Quartuccio to set up an all-Chevy battle for the big prize.

Weatherford got the better start, .024 to .038 over Mills, and then posted a winning run of 3.601 seconds and 210.38 mph. Mills was within 003 on the elapsed time at 3.604 seconds and 207.47 mph. Although excited about the big payday, Weatherford was even more thrilled to capture a prestigious IHRA Ironman trophy. Continue reading

Weatherford Leads Qualifying for $125,000-to-win IHRA Outlaw Pro Mod Nationals

MILAN, MI — Randy Weatherford posted the quick time Friday night for the $125,000-to-win IHRA Outlaw Pro Mod Nationals at Darana Dragway – Milan.

Weatherford thundered down the track in 3.607 seconds at 210.67 mph to take the top spot in the 32-car field.

“It was an interesting pass. That’s the number we were looking for,” said Weatherford. “The pass I made before, I went 3.64, then we came back, worked on the car, and got it tuned up a little bit more, and the track was real good. This puts us in a good spot for race day. We know what we can run, and everybody else knows what we can run, so that makes it tough on them. They’ve got to jump out there and go with it.”

Milan, MI — The IHRA Outlaw Pro Mod Nationals are rolling into Darana Dragway – Milan (formerly Milan Dragway) Friday, August 8, and Saturday, August 9, and with $125,000-to-win, some of the baddest Pro Mods in the country entered, it’s shaping up to be one of the biggest Pro Mod events of the year.

Names like Frankie “Mad Man” Taylor, Kye Kelley, Ken Quartuccio, Robin Roberts, Wes Distefano, Kallee Mills and Craig Sullivan are all locked in and ready to throw down for a massive $125,000 payday.

IHRA Adds $10,000-to-Win 64-Car Bracket Shootout to Outlaw Pro Mod Nationals at Darana Dragway

Milan, MI — The International Hot Rod Association (IHRA) is adding even more excitement to one of the biggest events of the season with the announcement of a 64-Car Top Bulb Bracket Shootout during the upcoming IHRA Outlaw Pro Mod Nationals at Darana Dragway, August 8–9.

This high-stakes pre-entry-only bracket race is limited to 64 entries and will take place on Friday and Saturday, alongside the $125,000-to-win Pro Mod main event. Entry is $250 per day or $500 for the weekend, and once the 64 spots are claimed, registration will close. All participants must be IHRA members to compete.

Multiple Racers Capture IHRA Outlaw Nitro Series Pro-Am Wins at Darana Dragway – Milan

MILAN, MI — There was a “killer” celebration Sunday at the IHRA Outlaw Nitro Series Pro-Am races at Darana Dragway. The races were live streamed on IHRA.TV with the exciting action of both the Nitro and Sportsman classes.

Lorenzo “Killer” Brooks took the win in Top Sportsman after he got a needed advantage at the starting tree. Brooks was .034 at the start compared to .055 for his final-round opponent Mike Badia. Brooks then went4.552 seconds on a 4.52 dial-in. Badia was 4.408 against a 4.38 dial-in time.

Kirby McLennan and Jeff Smith Jr. were right on their dial-in times in Top Dragster. McLeenan was better with a .025 to .040 reaction time and then was 4.245 seconds on a 4.24 dial-in to score the win. Smith was plenty tough with a 4.448-second run on his 4.44 dial-in. Continue reading
