WYNNEWOOD, OK – Elite Motorsports has announced multi-championship crew chief Mike Green will lead their Top Fuel program
beginning in the 2026 Mission Foods NHRA Drag Racing Series season.
“We had conversations with a handful of potential crew chiefs over the past several weeks, all great options. But, when Mike and I talked after the Dallas event, it felt like a natural fit, for both of us,” said Richard Freeman, owner of Elite Motorsports. “We’re excited to have him on board. He’s a hall of fame caliber crew chief who has proven he’s capable of putting together a program to win championships, that’s what we’re after. AARON STANFIELD TAKES ELITE MOTORSPORTS TO FINAL ROUND AT TEXAS NHRA FALLNATIONALS
ENNIS, TX – Aaron Stanfield and the Johnson’s Horsepowered Garage / Melling Performance / Janac Brothers Racing Pro Stock team made
their second final round appearance of the season Sunday at the Texas NHRA FallNationals at Texas Motorplex.
Stanfield, who remains fourth in points but cut his deficit from third to just five, took on points leader Dallas Glenn in the final round. Stanfield and the JHG / Melling machine had the starting line advantage and the race stayed close until the end with Glenn taking the victory by only .007-seconds. Stanfield ran 6.622-seconds at 208.75 mph with a .024 reaction time while Glenn was .034 on the starting line but pulled off the win with a 6.605 pass at 208.89.
“Overall, a good day. Coming in No. 12, to get to the finals, these Elite boys really hustled. The whole pit was working hard. Obviously disappointed with the final result but two races left and points and a half in Pomona, a runner-up finish keeps us in the conversation for a top three finish for the time being,” Stanfield said. “We’ve got our work cut out for us, that’s for sure but I have all the confidence in this team. I wouldn’t want to be out here racing with anyone but this group at Elite.” Continue reading
JEG COUGHLIN JR. SET TO DEFEND PRO STOCK THRONE FOR ELITE MOTORSPORTS AT TEXAS NHRA FALLNATIONALS
ENNIS, TX – Jeg Coughlin Jr. and the SCAG Power Equipment / Outlaw Light Beer Pro Stock team head to Texas Motorplex this weekend
aiming to repeat as winners at the Texas NHRA FallNationals, a high-stakes battle in the fourth of six races comprising the NHRA Countdown to the Championship playoffs.
Jeg Jr. enters the event sitting ninth in the points standings—merely 81 markers behind fifth place. With two wins himself at the facility and Elite Motorsports seemingly with a choke hold on the Pro Stock trophy at the Texas Motorplex for the past three years (Erica Enders won in 2022 and 2023) a second consecutive victory at the facility could mean a jump up the leaderboard in the season’s final push.
“I’ve been excited for the entire Stampede of Speed week. There’s so much going on. Attended the Champions Dinner last night which was a lot of fun, the FanFest tonight in downtown Waxahachie and then it’s time to race,” said Jeg Jr. “Mainly, we are looking to defend our 2024 title in Pro Stock with our brilliant SCAG Power Equipment hot rod but also stoked to take in the JEGS Allstar Championship which takes place Friday and Saturday.” Continue reading

sponsorship of two Pro Stock machines in the 2026 Mission Foods NHRA Drag Racing Series season. Six-time world champion Jeg Coughlin Jr. will join his nephew Troy Coughlin Jr. in the yellow and black livery synonymous with the JEGS brand.

Having both drivers represent JEGS gives us incredible momentum as we gear up for our next season.”
Jeg Jr., whose father Jeg Coughlin Sr. founded JEGS, spent much of his professional drag racing career representing the family company until he retired at the end of the 2020 season. ERICA ENDERS AND ELITE MOTORSPORTS LOOKING FOR ST. LOUIS HISTORY TO TIP IN THEIR FAVOR AT WORLD WIDE TECHNOLOGY RACEWAY
MADISON, IL – Erica Enders and her Johnson’s Horsepowered Garage / Melling Performance / SCAG Power Equipment team are looking
to add to their storied history at World Wide Technology Raceway with a seventh win at this weekend’s NAPA Auto Parts NHRA Midwest Nationals. As the third of six races in the NHRA Countdown to the Championship, this event marks a critical juncture for the team.
Enders, fresh off a commanding victory at the U.S. Nationals and a final quad appearance at the NHRA Four-Wide Carolina Nationals last weekend, is currently seventh in the Pro Stock points standings and poised to make a strong push toward the top.
“My sister and I have a saying, ‘Everything changes in St. Louis,’ so I’m looking forward to this weekend,” said Enders who won the Midwest Nationals four years in a row, 2019-2022, after winning back-to-back in 2012 and 2013. “I’m looking forward to what’s ahead. We’ve had glimpses of what we can do. We have to keep going rounds, keep qualifying well. We need to knock those ahead of us in points out early and make the pendulum swing in our direction. We certainly have turned a corner, and we have all hands-on deck. We’re trying our best, and we’ll see what happens. St. Louis has always been really great to me. Hopefully that’s true again this weekend.” Continue reading
ERICA ENDERS AND AARON STANFIELD TAKE JHG / MELLING TO FINAL QUAD AT NHRA FOUR-WIDE CAROLINA NATIONALS
CONCORD, NC – Erica Enders and Aaron Stanfield made their way to the final quad of the NHRA Four-Wide Carolina Nationals at zMAX
Dragway on Sunday. The duo earned semifinal points putting Stanfield fourth and Enders seventh with four races remaining in the 2025 NHRA Countdown to the Championship.
In a quad featuring last year’s top four Pro Stock finishers, Enders and Stanfield finished third and fourth, respectively to earn semifinal points. Enders handled her Johnson’s Horsepowered Garage / Melling Performance / SCAG Power Equipment machine to a 6.572-second pass at 209.20 mph coming up short to race winner Dallas Glenn’s 6.554 at 209.95 and reigning world champion Greg Anderson’s 6.562 at 209.01. Stanfield left the starting line second after Glenn, but he ran into sever tire shake and pushed the clutch in coasting to a 13.390 at 65.73.
“It was definitely a positive outing this weekend. We lost the night session in qualifying to a poor run so that started us off behind the eight ball, but we had a tough race day, all day long. Every single round I had Greg Anderson in my in my quad,” Enders said. “Second round, I was able to beat him on a holeshot; it was definitely exciting to see the blinking light on my guard wall. All in all, good points day but disappointed with the final round appearance as far as mine and Aaron’s ETs go. But you know, we get to try it again in a couple more days in St. Louis, and that track has always been good to me.” Continue reading
AARON STANFIELD EYES CHAMPIONSHIP PUSH AT NHRA FOUR-WIDE CAROLINA NATIONALS
CONCORD, NC – Aaron Stanfield and his Johnson’s Horsepowered Garage / Melling Performance / Janac Brothers Racing Pro Stock team
are set to storm zMAX Dragway for the NHRA Four-Wide Carolina Nationals, the second of six races in the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series Countdown to the Championship. As the inaugural four-wide event in the playoffs, this weekend’s competition provides Stanfield with a dynamic platform to narrow the gap in the Pro Stock points standings and keep his title hopes alive.
Stanfield enters the event fourth in the Pro Stock points standings with a runner-up finish to his father Greg Stanfield at the Sonoma Nationals in July as well as four semifinal appearances throughout the regular season. Aaron is coming off a quarterfinal exit at the NHRA Reading Nationals where he qualified No. 2 for race day. He and teammate Erica Enders led Elite Motorsports with their second-round exits.
“We haven’t started the Countdown exactly how we wanted but five races left is still a lot of time to recover,” said Stanfield. “We’ve had success at zMAX in the past, so we’re hoping we can capitalize on that. As the first four-wide event ever in the Countdown, I’m especially looking forward to it. Feel like I have something to prove after the performance from the spring. All in all, we’re feeling confident and we’re definitely ready.” Continue reading
ELITE MOTORSPORTS RELEASES 2026 TOP FUEL PLANS
WYNNEWOOD, OK – It was announced today that, once funded, motorsports icon Tony Stewart will take the wheel of the Elite Motorsports
Top Fuel dragster for the 2026 Mission Foods NHRA Drag Racing Series season.
Six-time Pro Stock world champion Erica Enders and drag racing phenom Aaron Stanfield will also test and license in the dragster as team owner Richard Freeman looks to further expand Elite Motorsports’ footprint in the NHRA.
“Having Tony as our driver, adding another Top Fuel entry, we’re taking care of the sport and opening up possibilities, that’s why we’ll have Erica and Aaron get licensed in the car as well. First things first though, we need to get the program funded, but letting everyone know our intentions, that will help,” said Freeman who purchased the Top Fuel operation from Josh Hart earlier this month. “Tony is a great driver, we all know he can drive anything. He’s great for drag racing, not just as a team owner, but behind the wheel. We’re excited that through our marketing alliance with Tony Stewart Racing we’re creating an opportunity for Tony to keep a Top Fuel seat and a chance to race alongside his wife, Leah [Pruett].” Continue reading
