VIVA LAS VEGAS, STEWART AND HAGAN TAKE ON THE 4 WIDE!

Las Vegas – The NHRA Four-Wide Nationals at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway is the fourth event on the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series’ 20-race calendar in 2024. Tony Stewart Racing (TSR) brings its two full-time entries – one in Top Fuel for Top Fuel rookie Tony Stewart and one in Funny Car for 49-time Funny Car winner and four-time champion Matt Hagan.

Coming into Las Vegas, Stewart is ninth in the Top Fuel standings, 161 points behind leader Shawn Langdon. Hagan is fourth in the Funny Car standings, 73 points behind leader J.R. Todd.

Stewart enters Las Vegas representing the Rayce Rudeen Foundation on his blue and yellow Top Fuel dragster. Hagan, meanwhile, sports red, white and blue colors of Operation Healing Forces and Shelor Motor Mile on his Dodge//SRT Hellcat Funny Car.

The Rayce Rudeen Foundation is a non-profit organization that works with organizations and programs to encourage a healthy and productive life that is free of addiction. The designated 501(c)(3) is named in honor of Rayce Rudeen, who at age 26 passed away from an accidental Fentanyl overdose. Since its inception, the Rayce Rudeen Foundation has advocated for creating a supportive community in which everyone can access prevention, treatment, recovery and family-support services, all free from stigma.

Stewart and Hagan head to NHRA Arizona Nationals

Chandler, AZ – The NHRA Arizona Nationals at Firebird Motorsports Park is the third event on the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series’ 20-race calendar in 2024. Tony Stewart Racing (TSR) brings its two full-time entries – one in Top Fuel for Top Fuel rookie Tony Stewart and one in Funny Car for 49-time Funny Car winner and four-time champion Matt Hagan.

The NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series was unable to finish Sunday’s final-round of eliminations at the previous event, the NHRA Winternationals in Pomona, California. Hagan advanced to the Final by defeating Buddy Hull in Round 1, Jeff Diehl in Round 2 and J.R. Todd in the Semi-Finals. He will face John Force in the Final.

Direct Connection is the primary partner of Stewart and Hagan this weekend in Phoenix. With muscle car enthusiasts looking for “ready to run” parts, Direct Connection serves as the source for high-performance parts and technical expertise straight from the factory.

Hagan to run Winternationals Final at Arizona Nationals Apr 5-7

Pomona, CA – Hagan’s No. 1 qualifier marked the 51st of his career and his fourth at the Winternationals. His previous. No. 1 starts came in 2017 (3.822 ET at 335.57 mph), 2018 (3.822 ET at 336.32 mph) and 2020 (3.841 ET at 333.25 mph).

By advancing to the Semifinals, Hagan has secured his position in the NHRA’s #2Fast2Tasty Mission NHRA Challenge, where he will face off against J.R. Todd at Phoenix. The semifinalists from Pomona will rematch during qualifying on Saturday, with bonus money and points on the line.

The Winternationals served as Mobil 1’s first race as primary sponsor in 2024 with Stewart. They debuted a special black and gold scheme to commemorate Mobil 1’s 50th anniversary. Stewart will run the same scheme at the Texas NHRA FallNationals October 11-13 at Texas Motorplex outside Dallas.

Tony Stewart & Matt Hagan Top Fuel | Funny Car Head to the 64th NHRA Winternationals

Pomona, CA – The NHRA Winternationals at In-N-Out Burger Pomona Dragstrip is the second event on the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series’ 20-race calendar in 2024. Tony Stewart Racing (TSR) brings its two full-time entries – one in Top Fuel for Top Fuel rookie Tony Stewart and one in Funny Car for 49-time Funny Car winner and four-time champion Matt Hagan.

Coming into Pomona, Stewart is tied for ninth with Brittany Force and Clay Millican in the Top Fuel standings, 93 points behind leader Shawn Langdon. Hagan is sixth in the Funny Car standings, 59 points behind leader J.R. Todd.

Stewart enters Pomona representing Mobil 1, the world’s leading synthetic motor oil brand, on his black and gold Top Fuel dragster. Hagan, meanwhile, sports red on his Johnson’s Horsepowered Garage Dodge//SRT Hellcat Funny Car.

Tony Stewart & Matt Hagan Dodge Direct Connection Top Fuel & Funny Car Drivers Gatornationals Report

Gainesville, FL – The NHRA Gatornationals marked Tony Stewart’s first start in the NHRA Top Fuel Dragster.  Stewart had a .021 Reaction Time (RT) in Round 1 against Justin Ashley’s .031 RT. In the past, Ashley has been the quickest leaver in the Top Fuel field.

The 55th NHRA Gatornationals marked the first event with Mission Foods as the new series sponsor of the NHRA.

Hagan needs just one win to become the 17th pro driver with 50 tour victories. John Force, Robert Hight and Ron Capps currently are the only Funny Car drivers to have reached that plateau. Hagan has won at least three tour events for 11 consecutive seasons, the longest active streak in the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series.

Gainesville, FL – The 55th NHRA Gatornationals at Gainesville (Fla.) Raceway is the first event on the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series’ 21-race calendar in 2024. Tony Stewart Racing (TSR) brings its two full-time entries – one in Top Fuel for NHRA Top Fuel Rookie Tony Stewart and one in Funny Car for 49-time Funny Car winner and four-time champion Matt Hagan – to the north-central Florida track eyeing continued progress in its third season. Hagan won the 2023 Funny Car championship, which marked the first championship in the NHRA for TSR. Leah Pruett finished a career-best third in the Top Fuel standings. She is stepping out of the Top Fuel seat this season with plans to start a family with Stewart. Pruett and Hagan combined for eight wins in TSR’s second season.

Mahindra Joins Tony Stewart Racing

Mahindra Ag North America to Serve as Primary Sponsor of Tony Stewart’s Top Fuel Dragster for Two Events in 2024 and as Associate Sponsor the Remainder of the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series Season

BROWNSBURG, IN – Mahindra Ag North America is extending its racing partnership to include Tony Stewart Racing (TSR) in the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series, with the Texas-based company highlighting its world-class farm tractors on the Top Fuel Dragster of championship-winning racecar driver and owner Tony Stewart.

Mahindra will serve as the primary sponsor of Stewart for two primary events, which will be named at a later date. The red and white car design will feature Mahindra on the top and side panels of Stewarts’s 11,000-horsepower machine. They will be featured in an associate partner position at all remaining events.

Leah Pruett & Matt Hagan head to theSCAG PRO Superstar Shootout

Bradenton, FL – The inaugural SCAG PRO Superstar Shootout presented by JHG is an invitation-only race featuring standout drivers from the Top Fuel, Funny Car, Pro Stock and Super Stock Eliminator categories. In collaboration with the Professional Racers Organization, Drag Illustrated, Bradenton Motorsports Park and FloRacing, the event will offer $1.3 million in total prize money, with $250,000 being paid out to both the Top Fuel and Funny Car victor. Pruett Stepping Aside From NHRA Competition in 2024 to Focus on Starting a Family

Tony Stewart Named As Replacement Driver in Top Fuel Class

BROWNSBURG, IN – After completing 27 consecutive years in NHRA competition, Leah Pruett is stepping aside from racing in 2024 to focus on starting a family with husband Tony Stewart.

Stewart will move into the Top Fuel seat on behalf of Pruett at Tony Stewart Racing (TSR), following his first full NHRA season in a Top Alcohol Dragster for McPhillips Racing.

“Drag racing has been an important part of my life for over three quarters of my life,” Pruett said. “27 years of racing in the NHRA has molded who I am and I am extremely grateful for the life it has given me. Through a long series of thought processes and a decision that did not happen overnight, I feel that stepping out of the seat right now is what’s best for myself and Tony to start a family.”

Pruett is a 12-time NHRA Top Fuel event winner. Her NHRA journey began in the series’ Junior Drag Racing League as an 8-year-old. Pruett earned two victories in 2023 and finished the season third in the Top Fuel championship standings, which is the highest she’s finished in her 14-year Top Fuel career.

TSR Dodge//SRT Driver Hagan Captures Fourth NHRA Funny Car Championship

Teammate Pruett Takes Direct Connection Top Fueler to Pomona Final

Pomona, CA  – Matt Hagan joined drag racing royalty Sunday at the NHRA In-N- Out Burger Finals when he secured his fourth career NHRA Camping World Funny Car championship in the Tony Stewart Racing (TSR) Direct Connection Dodge//SRT Hellcat machine.

Hagan, a six-time NHRA national event winner this year, joined legends John Force, Don Prudhomme and Kenny Bernstein as the only four-time Funny Car World Champions with his second-round finish in the final race in the 21-event NHRA national tour.

Leah Pruett, Hagan’s TSR teammate, nearly made it a “double up” TSR Dodge//SRT championship for the Direct Connection team when she advanced to the final round against Doug Kalitta in a “winner takes the title” finale. Unfortunately, Pruett was defeated by Kalitta, 3.673 to a 3.720, earning the runner-up spot in the TSR Dodge//SRT Direct Connection Top Fuel dragster.

Hagan entered the season-ending race in Pomona, California, with a 15-point lead in the “Countdown” for the Funny Car title. After qualifying fourth (3.869 seconds) in the 16-car field, Hagan defeated Alex Laughlin in the opening round and lost a wild second round matchup with Blake Alexander in which both drivers smoked the tires. With his chief challengers – Bob Tasca III and Robert Hight – also losing in the second-round, Hagan notched his fourth World title and first for Tony Stewart Racing.
