Bradenton, FL – The second annual SCAG Power Equipment PRO Superstar Shootout is an invitation-only race featuring standout drivers from the Top Fuel, Funny Car and Pro Stock categories. It will also feature three Sportsman racing classes – Top Sportsman, Stock and Super Stock). In collaboration with the Professional Racers Organization (PRO), Bradenton Motorsports Park and FloRacing, the event will once again take the motorsports world by storm with incredible side-by-side racing, a unique chip draw elimination format, record-setting speeds and a fan-friendly atmosphere. Tony Stewart Racing (TSR) brings two entries – one in Top Fuel for Tony Stewart and one in Funny Car for 52-time Funny Car winner and four-time NHRA champion Matt Hagan.

Tony Stewart Racing Funny Car Team Announces 2025 Crew Chief Lineup

Mike Knudsen Promoted to Crew Chief, with Phil Shuler Joining the Championship-Winning Crew as Co-Crew Chief

BROWNSBURG, IN – Tony Stewart Racing (TSR) has announced that Mike Knudsen has been promoted to crew chief on Matt Hagan’s Funny Car, with Phil Shuler joining the championship-winning team heading into 2025.

Veteran co-crew chief Mike Knudsen, who is getting promoted to crew chief, has been with Hagan since 2013, having made the move to TSR from Don Schumacher Racing (DSR) in 2022 with the formation of the new team. The pair has earned three championships together in 2014, 2020 and 2023. Knudsen started his career in Funny Car with Jim Head Racing and later moved to Funny Car with Jerry Toliver. In 2005, Knudsen joined DSR, where he worked with Whit Bazemore, Gary Scelzi, Cory McClenathan and Spencer Massey, before joining Hagan’s crew.

“I’m really excited to take the next step in my career,” said Mike Knudsen. “Thank you to Dickie’s (Venables) mentorship, I feel very prepared to step into the crew chief role. I couldn’t ask for a better situation. Tony (Stewart) is the best owner in the NHRA, and we have a championship-winning team that’s led by Alex Conaway (car chief), also with Matt being a four-time championship-winning driver. I’m also excited to bring Phil on board. He and I have multiple years of experience working together at DSR. I feel we will really complement each other as co-crew chiefs. Converge Technology Solutions to Serve as Associate Sponsor of Tony Stewart Racing in a Multi-Year Agreement

BROWNSBURG, IN – Converge Technology Solutions, a services-led, software-enabled, IT & Cloud Solutions provider focused on delivering industry-leading solutions, has joined Tony Stewart Racing (TSR) to serve as associate sponsor of TSR in a multi-year agreement in the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series. This will be Converge’s first partnership in the arena of motorsports partnership and marketing.

As part of this agreement, Converge will assist both Tony Stewart’s Top Fuel and Matt Hagan’s championship-winning Funny Car teams with data analytics and visualization, as well as cloud storage. Converge and TSR’s partnership will commence immediately, with the alliance at the forefront of the start of the 2025 racing season, beginning March 6-9 for the NHRA Gatornationals in Gainesville, Florida. “New Dad” Stewart, Hagan Advance to Semifinals at NHRA Finals in TSR Direct Connection Dodge//SRT Nitro Machines

Auburn Hills, MI – Racing legend Tony Stewart had a memorable day Sunday with the birth of his first child and advanced to the semifinals in his Tony Stewart Racing (TSR) Direct Connection Dodge//SRT Top Fuel dragster at the In-N-Out NHRA Finals in Pomona, Calif., while his TSR Direct Connection Dodge//SRT teammate Matt Hagan also scored a semifinal finish in the Funny Car division.

Stewart, a Top Fuel rookie, qualified seventh in the 16-car field on Saturday and then flew to Phoenix to support his wife, Leah Pruett, for the birth of their son, Dominic James, at 4:43 a.m. Sunday morning, before returning to the In-N-Out Pomona Dragstrip at 8 a.m. for the final eliminations of the NHRA Mission Drag Racing Series finale.

After replacing his wife as the driver of the TSR Direct Connection Dodge//SRT dragster in March when the Stewarts decided to start a family in 2024, the man known as “Smoke” proved to be consistent and quick off the starting line during the season. On Sunday, he scored victories over Billy Torrence and Gary Pritchett in the opening two rounds of Top Fuel action.

With little or no sleep, Stewart advanced to the semifinals to take on defending World Champion Doug Kalitta and held a slight advantage early in the matchup. However, Kalitta’s nitro-burning dragster won the race with a 3.678 to Stewart’s 3.738. Continue reading

Tony Stewart & Matt Hagan Headed to Pomona for the In-N-Out Burger NHRA Finals

Pomona, CA – This weekend’s In-N-Out Burger NHRA Finals at In-N-Out Burger Pomona Dragstrip is the 20th and final race on the 2024 NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series’ schedule, and the iconic California venue is where the six-race Countdown to the Championship culminates. Tony Stewart Racing (TSR) drivers Tony Stewart (Top Fuel) and Matt Hagan (Funny Car) both made the Countdown in 2024, with Stewart securing his first Countdown appearance while Hagan earned his spot in the NHRA postseason for the 13th time.

Stewart enters Pomona tied with Shawn Reed in ninth in the Top Fuel standings, 260 points behind championship leader Justin Ashley. Hagan is fourth in the Funny Car championship standings, 258 points behind leader Austin Prock.

Justin Ashley remains in the Top Fuel points lead, and he’ll take a 44- and 45-point advantage over Antron Brown and Shawn Langdon, respectively, into the finale.

In Funny Car, the championship is a mere formality for Austin Prock, who leads teammate Jack Beckman by 188 points. Prock will officially clinch the world title at the NHRA Finals when he makes his first qualifying run. Continue reading

Las Vegas – The Ford Performance NHRA Nationals at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway is the second-to-last race on the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series’ 20-race schedule and it is the fifth round in the six-race Countdown to the Championship. Tony Stewart Racing (TSR) drivers Tony Stewart (Top Fuel) and Matt Hagan (Funny Car) are both in the Countdown, with 2024 marking Stewart’s first appearance in the NHRA postseason and Hagan’s 13th.

Stewart is 10th in the Top Fuel standings heading into Las Vegas, 241 points behind championship leader Justin Ashley. Hagan is third in the Funny Car standings, 168 points behind leader Austin Prock. Hagan is a four-time champion (2011, 2014, 2020 and 2023).

Hagan Drives TSR Dodge//SRT Hellcat Funny Car to 52nd Career Win at NHRA Texas Fall Nationals

Auburn Hills, MI – Matt Hagan, the reigning NHRA Funny Car World Champion, fought through a tough field Sunday to capture his 52nd NHRA career victory at the wheel of his Tony Stewart Racing (TSR) Johnson Horsepowered Garage Dodge//SRT Hellcat in the NHRA Texas Fall Nationals, while TSR teammate Tony Stewart exited in a first-round loss in the Top Fuel division.

Hagan, the 41-year-old driver from Christiansburg, Virginia, enjoyed a stellar weekend at the Texas Motorplex by scoring his second consecutive Texas Fall Nationals win and fifth overall at the concrete-surfaced drag strip south of the Dallas Metroplex. In addition, the four-time NHRA World Champion recorded his quickest elapsed time of the year with a 3.823 in qualifying for the No. 2 starting position in the 16-car field.

The Texas Fall Nationals triumph was his third NHRA national event win of the 2024 tour with earlier victories at Charlotte (April) and Joliet (May), and Hagan’s 98th career NHRA final round appearance, all in Dodge//SRT racecars. Continue reading

Tony Stewart Racing (TSR) drivers Tony Stewart (Top Fuel) and Matt Hagan (Funny Car) are both in the Countdown, with 2024 marking Stewart’s first appearance in the NHRA postseason and Hagan’s 13th.

Stewart is ninth in the Top Fuel standings heading into Dallas, 194 points behind championship leader Antron Brown. Hagan is fifth in the Funny Car standings, 205 points behind leader Austin Prock. Hagan is a four-time champion (2011, 2014, 2020 and 2023).

The last time the NHRA competed at the Texas NHRA FallNationals, Pruett and Hagan earned the first double-up victory for TSR.

Stewart and Hagan come into Dallas representing Mobil 1 and Johnson’s Horsepowered Garage, respectively. Stewart’s Top Fuel dragster carries the colors of Mobil 1, the world’s leading synthetic motor oil brand.
