Olsen and Grennan Take Home NHRA Hardware at Sportsman Nationals
ST. THOMAS, ON – The Inaugural Sportsman Nationals at St Thomas Raceway Park proved to be a giant success as both individual 
class car counts and the overall series car count records were re-set after the two days of racing were completed. A record of 147 total entries Saturday and then 161 entries Sunday topped the charts as the two highest car counts the series has seen in its two years of running.
Saturday and Sunday saw the HeadsUpRacer.com Frantic 14 have stout bump spots on both the Dragster and Door-Car sides of the ladder, and Sunday saw a record 44 Super Pro Cars all take to the track.
Inaugural Sportsman Nationals set to take place at Historic St. Thomas Raceway Park
ST. THOMAS, ON – The Inaugural Sportsman Nationals present by J&S Collision and Degroote-Hill Chevrolet GMC Buick is in its final 
stages of preparation for this up-coming weekend, August 16-18 at St Thomas Raceway Park. The event will feature Championship Bracket Racers from the DSE Automotive Sportsman Racing Series as well as the newly re-formed Heads Up Racing Association (HURA) who are all looking to put on a weekend of spectacular racing and entertainment for fans.
Through its 51 years of operation, St Thomas Raceway Park has hosted some of the biggest names in Drag Racing including Canadians such as Al Billies, current NHRA Nitro Funny Car pilot Jeff Arend as well as former NHRA World Champions John Force, Tony Pedregon and Shirley Muldowney.

CAYUGA, ON – The 2nd Annual HeadsUpRacer.com Summer Sizzler had its share of both spectacular racing, and untimely rain, as bad 
weather forced the cancellation of Saturdays Racing program which featured the NHRA Summit Racing Equipment “King of the Track” race, and the first race of two NHRA Jr. Drag Racing League (JDRL) challenge events. Both programs award winners with a coveted NHRA “Wally” trophy as well as other bonus prizes and awards from series sponsors.
With Saturday racing festivities washed out, Sunday produced a fantastic cool summer day, which brought out over 120 competitors, 75 of which were Modified and Super Pro competitors looking to compete for the NHRA “King of the Track” Wally.
Canada Day Spectacular Weathers the forecast and Crowns new Winners
conditions, track race lengths and finalists, as points races number 3 and 4 found their way into the 2013 record books.Saturday started off with bleak forecasts and wet track conditions, however with clearing weather and a great deal of effort from Toronto Motorsports Park track crew , the 1/8th mile was prepped and racing action began only an hour and a half after the scheduled start time. Saturday also marked the 2013 return of the Stefko Racing Engines Super Gas class to the race track.
Sportsman Racing Series Returns to Cayuga Dragway For Big Canada Day Spectacular
CAYUGA, ON – Bracket Race competitors in the DSE Automotive Sportsman Racing Series will trek towards legendary Cayuga 
Dragway this weekend for the second annual Canada Day Spectacular. The two-day event will represent points races number Three and Four in the chase for a share of the $14,500 Sportsman Racing Series year end purse.
The Canada Day Spectacular also highlights the return of the Stefko Racing Engines Super Gas Category for the 2013 season, which brings with it a new guaranteed purse and special Qualifier awards for both Saturday and Sunday’s #1 qualifiers. Thanks to John Stefko and Stefko Racing Engines, racers in the 9.90 index class can look forward to racing for atleast $500 to win and $200 to Runner-up with the purse going up to $600 to win and $300 to runner and $120 semi Finals at a minimum of nine cars.
Numerous First Time Winners Highlight Sportsman Series Opener
CAYUGA, ON – The 2nd Annual Dilts Piston Hydraulics Season Opener marked the opening race weekend for the DSE Sportsman 
Racing Series in the 2013 season, which saw over 125 of Ontario’s best Sportsman Bracket racers converge onto Cayuga Dragway of Toronto Motorsports Park.
Saturdays Racing started late when scattered showers forced the start time back to 4 pm, however with clearing skies and a good forecast for the evening, racers hit the track running 1/8th mile and produced some fantastic Saturday night racing.
Two reigning Champions from last season wasted little time in 2013 placing their names back on top of the list of contenders. Both Pete Stewart in the DSEAutomotive.ca Super Bike/Sled class and Steve Ferstl in Renegade Race Fuels Super Pro category, took Saturday victories in their respective classes with Stewart defeating Stew Shields and Ferstl winning a close double breakout over Brad Redford.

It’s a good thing that Ron Capps and crew chief Rahn Tobler have healthy, full heads of hair.
Because over the past six NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series events, their NAPA AUTO PARTS Dodge Charger R/T has encountered more gremlins than a bad horror flick. And it has continued at the 44th annual Toyota NHRA Nationals at Old Bridge Township Raceway Park at Englishtown, N.J.
Since winning the NHRA title near Phoenix in the second event of the season, the NAPA team has only advanced to the semifinals in two of the last six events.
