Josh Hart Eager to Take on Flexjet Factory Stock in Charlotte
OCALA, FL – Josh Hart has built his professional and motorsports career on overcoming obstacles with a positive attitude and a never give up
mindset. His debut Flexjet Factory Stock Showdown national event driving the Burnyzz Speed Shop Dodge Challenger was a lesson in turning a negative into a positive. The first race of the season, the NHRA Gatornationals, was heavily impacted by weather and his team’s limited time preparing for the race was a perfect storm of frustration and missed opportunity. However, the business owner from Ocala, Florida, who teamed up with David H. Davis Racing (DHDR) to field the factory stock entry has already put that event behind him as he focuses on this weekend’s American Rebel Light Four-Wide Nationals at zMax Dragway.
“I don’t even look at the Gatornationals as a race honestly,” said Hart, who has competed in a variety of classes in the NHRA. “I am focusing on this weekend’s Charlotte Four-Wide Nationals as my real debut. This Burnyzz Speed Shop Dodge Challenger never really got a good opportunity in Florida with the rain. I am really looking forward to this weekend.”
Hart has owned the Dodge Challenger he will be campaigning this weekend since the Flexjet Factory Stock Showdown Series was announced over five years ago. Over the offseason Hart and Davies, a veteran of the factory stock class, talked about how they could work together to get Hart behind the wheel in one of the most competitive door-slammer classes in the NHRA. The plan came together quickly after the first of the year and DHDR has contributed mightily to getting Hart’s operation ready. Continue reading

Being an NHRA ambassador was another step in the driving career of Turley who will be graduating from high school next year.
“Being the NHRA Grassroots Racing Ambassador was an awesome experience,” said Turley, who has won several sportsman races at her home track Bristol Dragway. “I had a lot of fans come up and ask about my race car and some came back two or three times with more questions. I was happy to give them some information on how that could get involved with drag racing.”
During the NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals Turley also met with several NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series drivers and was on the line when David H. Davies was in Flexjet Factory Stock Showdown competition. For Turley being able to talk with professional drivers was another opportunity to learn more about the ins and outs of drag racing. DHDR SET TO HOST DEVELOPMENT DRIVER MADI TURLEY AT BRISTOL
CLEVELAND, OH – With the Thunder Valley Nationals coming up this weekend at famed Bristol Dragway DH Davies Racing owner David
Davies will be hosting development driver Madi Turley at the NHRA national event. Part of the developmental program Davies wants to instill in Turley is an understanding of how NHRA national events work and what the experience is like for an up-and-coming driver. The plan includes hosting Turley and her family in his pits but also having her understand the qualifying routine and race day experience.
“Madi has been racing for a while in local races, but I want to give her the experience of being involved in a national event,” said Davies, who will be competing in the Flexjet Factory Stock Showdown Series. “She is getting a lot of experience behind the wheel of her Dodge Challenger but there is so much more to learn and experience. I want her to meet some of the other drivers as well as get some experience with the media. All these elements come in to play as you are bringing drivers up.”
Through the DHDR developmental program Madi has been able to connect with E3 Spark Plugs, AJ Berge and Hemi Tuner for tuning assistance, and Wesley Motorsports for suspension support. Davies is also providing additional support to keep Turley’s program moving forward. So far this season Madi has competed at several events and continues to gain experience.
Madi Turley Named First DHDR Developmental Driver
CLEVELAND, OH – At the end of January during the CompetitionPlus.com Power Hour podcast David H. Davies, owner and primary driver
for D H Davies Racing® (DHDR) spoke about his plans for a driver development program that would extend beyond NHRA national and divisional events. The first driver to join the program is 16-year-old Madi Turley, also known as Mopar Madi, from Rutledge, Tennessee. Turley is currently campaigning a 2012 Dodge Challenger R/T with plans to move up to Flexjet Factory Stock Showdown class. After high school graduation she hopes to study auto mechanics at Tennessee College of Applied Technology (Morristown).
“I was fortunate to meet Mopar Madi through some mutual Mopar racing friends and once I heard her story, I knew I had to get involved to assist her in pursuing her dream,” said Davies. “I have wanted to build a driver development program for some time and Madi is the first of many drivers who will be a part of the DHDR developmental program. I am talking with several other drivers beyond door-slammer racers. Madi is an amazing young lady and I wanted to give her every advantage to chase her dream. She has shown great determination, passion and skill behind the wheel already in her young career.”
