Hart Looking to Build on Ford Performance Nationals Success

OCALA, FL – Last season at the penultimate NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series national event of the season Josh Hart and the R+L Carriers team made an impact on the Top Fuel championship racing to the semifinals. This season the fourth year Top Fuel team owner and driver from Ocala, Florida, is looking to continue to have a say in how the NHRA season wraps up for his team as well as the other Countdown contending drivers. The Ford Performance NHRA Nationals will get underway October 31-November 3, at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway and Hart is looking to close out a tough season with success in the desert.

“To say this season didn’t go our way is an understatement but we have two more races left on the schedule,” said Hart, a two-time Top Fuel national event winner. “We are not just going through the motions to finish the season. There are two races left and our goal is to win both and maybe have say again in who wins the Top Fuel championship.”

In 2023 Hart was the No. 12 qualifier and upset championship contending driver Leah Pruett from Tony Stewart Racing in the first round with a hole shot win. In the second round he did the same thing to the eventual world champion Doug Kalitta. The championship fell Kalitta’s way by less than a round of racing two weeks later in Pomona. In the semifinals he was first off the line against the eventual Ford Performance Nationals winner Mike Salinas, but Salinas had the quicker race car. Continue reading

TEXAS FALL NATIONALS END EARLY FOR JOSH HART

DALLAS – Josh Hart’s bid to move up the Mission Foods Drag Racing Series Top Fuel points standings fell short today at the 39th annual NHRA Texas Fall Nationals. Hart, who qualified No. 11, dropped his first round match-up with Texan Billy Torrence at Texas Motorplex. Hart rolled off the trailer on Friday and posted the fourth quickest run of the first round of qualifying with a 3.776 second pass at 327.99 mph. Over the next three rounds of qualifying Hart and the R+L Carriers Top Fuel team battled in tough and hot track conditions.

“I felt good with our first run on Friday and then we just missed it during the Friday night session,” said Hart, a two-time Top Fuel national event winner. “On Saturday we were just trying to play catch up on a hot track. We usually have a good hot track tune-up, but we just couldn’t get a handle on it. We are going to get ready for the last two national events and see what we can do.”

In the first round against Torrence Hart was up for the challenge against the No. 6 qualifier. Hart was first off the starting line with a .061 second reaction time in front of Torrence’s .083 second start. Unfortunately, Hart could not hold the lead as Torrence made a smooth pass down the Motorplex’s all-concrete quarter-mile track while Hart smoked the tires at half-track. Continue reading

OCALA, FL – Josh Hart and the R+L Carriers Top Fuel team will be heading to the Lone Star State for the 39th annual NHRA Texas Fall Nationals looking to turn the back half of the NHRA Countdown into their launching point for 2025. They are racing for a spot in the Top Ten as well as looking to add to add to their career win total with three races left in the 2024 Mission Foods Drag Racing Series. Throughout the season Hart and the team have been staying positive.

“This is one of the toughest classes to win and this year we have seen the level of competition take a big step up,” said Hart, a two-time Top Fuel national event winner. “We have stubbed our toe a couple times, but really this is just a tough, tough class no matter where you qualify. We have been qualified in the top half and gotten multi-time world champions in the first round.”

This will be Hart’s fourth appearance at the Texas Motorplex for the Stampede of Speed and the driver from Ocala, Florida, has enjoyed all the Texas activities leading up to the event including the Thursday night Pre-Stage Fan Fest in downtown Waxahachie. He will also be racing for the Friday night low ET bonus money, a $15,000 check, for the quickest Top Fuel team during the second qualifying session. Continue reading

JOSH HART LOOKS TO PRO SUPERSTAR SHOOTOUT AS KICK OFF FOR IMPROVED 2025 SEASON

OCALA, FL – As the 2024 NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series winds down Josh Hart and the R+L Carriers team are already looking ahead to the 2025 season. For the second year in a row the championship contending team will start their season at the PRO Superstar Shootout, February 6-8, 2025, at Bradenton Motorsports Park. STRONG RACE DAY PERFORMANCE NOT ENOUGH IN ST. LOUIS FOR JOSH HART

ST. LOUIS – On race day at the NHRA Midwest Nationals from World Wide Technology Raceway Josh Hart and the R+L Carriers made their best run of the weekend in the opening round of eliminations. Rain washed out the first day of qualifying on Friday giving all the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series competitors only two qualifying runs yesterday on the ultra-quick racing surface. Hart’s best run in qualifying was 3.787 seconds at 323.66 mph and positioned the 2022 NHRA Midwest Nationals Top Fuel runner-up as the No. 14 qualifier out of 19 Top Fuel dragsters.

“Everyone lost a full day of qualifying and I think that put every team behind the eight ball,” said Hart. “We made some OK runs yesterday, but we could have used those two lost qualifying runs. This R+L Carriers team is working really well together, and we just need to keep grinding.”

In the opening round facing the No. 3 qualifier Brittany Force, Hart was feeling confident in the right lane. When the Christmas Tree flashed Hart grabbed a slight starting line advantage with a better reaction time, but as the 11,000-horsepower Top Fuel dragsters closed in on the finish line Force’s dragster pulled ahead by a nose getting the win with low elapsed time of the event at the time of 3.702 seconds against Hart’s best time of the event, 3.745 seconds. JOSH HART LOOKS TO MIDWEST NATIONALS TO JUMP START COUNTDOWN

OCALA, FL – At the end of the three races in three weeks stretch Josh Hart and the TechNet Brakes for Breasts Top Fuel dragster team are looking to the Midwest Nationals at World Wide Technology Raceway as a chance to ramp up their NHRA championship momentum. There are four races left in the NHRA playoffs and Hart’s chances of making a serious run at his first Mission Foods Drag Racing Series Top Fuel world championship have to start this weekend. The four-year pro has built a top-tier team from the ground up, but this season has been full of trials and tribulations to this point.

“This has been one of the toughest seasons of my racing career and I am looking to make the most of these last four races,” said Hart, a two-time Top Fuel national event winner. “We have a great team with great support from TechNet as well as R+L Carriers. Every race there are over a dozen Top Fuel teams that have a legitimate shot to win the race and that is unprecedented in modern drag racing. There is only one championship trophy, and I want to do everything I can to try and win it.” Continue reading

HART TURNS ATTENTION TO ST LOUIS COUNTDOWN RACE

CONCORD, NC – Unseasonably warm conditions dogged the Top Fuel and Funny Car competitors during the 16th annual NHRA Carolina Nationals at zMax Dragway this weekend. For Josh Hart and the newly adorned pink TechNet Brakes for Breasts Top Fuel dragster the three-day national event was a good opportunity to talk about an amazing program supporting breast cancer awareness, but a tough weekend for on-track performance. Through two days of qualifying Hart’s team made three solid passes and landed on the qualifying sheet as the No. 11 quickest Top Fuel dragster on the property.

“We came off the trailer and made some decent runs considering the conditions were pretty tricky,” said Hart, the 2021 Carolina Nationals Top Fuel winner. “Everyone had to deal with the same track and same conditions. I thought we made the most of it. On Saturday we made a strong run in the first session and then we missed in it the last session. I had a lot of confidence coming in the first round match-up with Shawn (Langdon).”

Entering race day Hart was ready for a close race with the No. 6 qualifier. The pink TechNet Brakes for Breasts Top Fuel dragster was first off the starting line with Hart’s .058 second reaction time getting a slight edge on Shawn Langdon’s .061 second reaction time. Unfortunately, by the time the 11,000-horsepower land rockets were closing in on halftrack Hart’s Goodyear tires lost traction and Langdon was pulling away on a smooth run.  Langdon’s elapsed time of 3.775 seconds outpaced Hart’s 4.923 second run. Critical Charlotte Race on Horizon for Josh Hart

OCALA, FL – The 2024 NHRA Countdown to the Championship has begun and for Josh Hart and the TechNet Brakes for Breasts Top Fuel team they have five races, starting this weekend at zMax Dragway, to make a move. Hart, a successful businessman from Florida, is pursuing his first NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series Top Fuel world championship. Last weekend the No. 9 qualifier battled an issue with his brakes on his 11,000-horsepower Top Fuel dragster that contributed to his early exit at Maple Grove Raceway.

“We were chasing a brake issues all weekend in Reading and it bit us in the first round,” said Hart, a two-time Top Fuel national event winner. “My R+L Carriers and TechNet team will be ready to go this weekend. The good news is we can get back on track and start moving up in the points with some round wins in Charlotte.”

Hart won the Carolina Nationals in 2021 from the No. 7 qualifier position. He has had sustained success at the track located north of Charlotte and beside Charlotte Motor Speedway. He has raced to the final quad twice at the Charlotte Four-Wide national event and reached the quarterfinals two years ago at the Carolina Nationals. Continue reading

OCALA, FL – For the fourth consecutive season NHRA Top Fuel championship contender Josh Hart will be racing pink in support of the Brakes for Breasts charity campaign aligned with his primary sponsor TechNet Professional, an elite network of automotive repair shops across North America. During the NHRA Carolina Nationals this weekend Hart, who won the Carolina Nationals in 2021, will not only race a pink 11,000 horsepower TechNet land rocket but will also be promoting TechNet repair shops who will be raising funds for breast cancer research.

“I am very proud to be associated with TechNet and the Brakes for Breasts program,” said Hart, a two-time Top Fuel nationals event winner. “This program does an amazing job of raising donations for breast cancer research and engaging the thousands of TechNet shops and their customers.
