DHDR SET TO HOST DEVELOPMENT DRIVER MADI TURLEY AT BRISTOL

CLEVELAND, OH – With the Thunder Valley Nationals coming up this weekend at famed Bristol Dragway DH Davies Racing owner David Davies will be hosting development driver Madi Turley at the NHRA national event. Part of the developmental program Davies wants to instill in Turley is an understanding of how NHRA national events work and what the experience is like for an up-and-coming driver. The plan includes hosting Turley and her family in his pits but also having her understand the qualifying routine and race day experience.

“Madi has been racing for a while in local races, but I want to give her the experience of being involved in a national event,” said Davies, who will be competing in the Flexjet Factory Stock Showdown Series. “She is getting a lot of experience behind the wheel of her Dodge Challenger but there is so much more to learn and experience. I want her to meet some of the other drivers as well as get some experience with the media. All these elements come in to play as you are bringing drivers up.”

Through the DHDR developmental program Madi has been able to connect with E3 Spark Plugs, AJ Berge and Hemi Tuner for tuning assistance, and Wesley Motorsports for suspension support. Davies is also providing additional support to keep Turley’s program moving forward. So far this season Madi has competed at several events and continues to gain experience.

“I can’t wait to get to Bristol and see David at the Thunder Valley Nationals,” said Turley. “My goal is to race at an NHRA national event and this is the first step towards that goal. I have to thank David Davies and all my sponsors for helping me make this trip happen. I want to just get as much experience as possible in every phase of the sport. Getting to spend the weekend at Bristol Dragway will be a lot of fun and a great learning experience.”

Turley, who overcame a litany of medical conditions that threatened her life daily following her birth at 24-weeks, has been racing at a variety of events throughout the 2023 season primarily focusing on bracket races. She has already appeared on the cover of Chrysler Power magazine, been profiled in the Grainger Today newspaper and has been profiled recently in dodgegarage.com.

“My goal with the DHDR developmental program is to encourage young drivers and mechanics to get involved in drag racing and to support them as they pursue their dreams. We started conversations at the end of last season and at PRI in December, so things are starting to come together. We are excited to host Madi in Bristol and this is just the beginning. We have been having conversations with other drivers in other classes,” added Davies.
