Camrie Caruso Sets Sights on Full Season in NHRA Pro Stock for 2022

ENNIS, TX – Third-generation drag racer Camrie Caruso will make her NHRA Pro Stock debut in 2022, it was announced today during a press conference at the NHRA FallNationals at the Texas Motorplex. Caruso plans to run the full 2022 NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series tour in her Caruso Family Racing Chevrolet Camaro.
“I’m very excited to make the move up to NHRA Pro Stock,” said Caruso, 23. “We weren’t planning on this, but everything kind of fell into place over the last few weeks. I think it’s going to be a cool opportunity with everything that comes along with it.”
Caruso, who started her racing career in Jr. Dragsters, has event wins in NHRA Top Alcohol Dragster and PDRA Elite Top Dragster. She’s spent the 2021 season competing in PDRA Pro Outlaw 632 in a naturally aspirated, clutch-equipped former Mountain Motor Pro Stock car, which has been a helpful training tool. She also recently earned her NHRA Pro Stock license in the car.
D’Aprile to Drive Caruso Family Pro Mod at US Street Nationals
FAIRPOT, NY – In a last minute decision Tommy D’Aprile will be driving the Caruso Family Racing Pro Mod this weekend at the US Street Nationals at Bradenton Motorsports Par in Bradenton, Florida. “We are very happy to have Tommy behind the wheel and know he will do awesome.” Said, “PaPa” Joe Caruso, father of driver Marc Caruso.
Tommy is very excited to drive and honored that we thought of him. Marc is continuing to heel up and make sure he’s 100% before his season starts.
“I’m extremely honored and humbled that Tommy D’Aprile accepted my offer to drive our Caruso Family Racing Rodfather Camaro powered by Noonan Race Engineering, Al Billes, NGK Spark Plugs, MGP Connecting Rods, Diamond Pistons, Precision Racing Suspension & VP Racing Fuels this weekend at the U.S. Street Nationals Presented by Diamond Pistons at Bradenton Motorsports Park, stated Caruso.
I also can’t thank Lee White & Hank Jackson enough for the countless hours they’ve spent along with Robert Hayes since my accident at Bristol Dragway last summer to make sure that The Rodfather would return for this race.
Caruso Family Racing Headed to 3rd Annual PDRA Memphis Drags
Canandaigua, NY – After fighting ignition gremlins, electrical issues, and some parts attrition earlier this season Marc Caruso and his Caruso Family Racing Team are back on track and headed to Memphis.
“Our Pro Boost car has the potential to be one of the top three to five cars out there. We’ve just had some bad luck and parts issues. We’ve got her all back together and we took the time to test recently and got some very good data and some pleasing time slips. So, John Myself, my Father, Joe, and our tuner, John Vorous, think we’ll have something to work with down in Memphis,” said team driver, Marc Caruso.
The Caruso Family Racing Team is a three car team with Dad, Marc, in the Pro Boost Camaro and daughters, Ava and Camrie running their dragsters in the Bracket Bash Class. Both girls have excelled in this their first year on the tour. Ava, took home a win earlier this year at Rockingham and Camrie has been deadly on the tree and progressing each time behind the wheel.
Caruso Family Racing Commits to Remainder of PDRA Schedule; Headed to Texas Nationals
Canandaigua, NY – The 3rd Annual PDRA Spring Nationals in Rockingham, NC marked the debut of the three car team of the Canandaigua, NY based Caruso Family Racing team and they left their collective mark.
Team driver Ava Lawler took home the win at Rockingham in The PDRA’s newest class the “Bracket Bash”. The “Bracket Bash” 0 through 4.99 ($3000 to win) ET Bracket Racing program will accompany the sanctioning body’s previously scheduled program at each event. There are nine separate events currently scheduled in 2016.
With the win by Lawler and the strong showing by Marc Caruso in Pro Boost as well as Camrie Caruso’s efforts in the Bracket Bash the Caruso Family Racing team has made the decision to run the remainder of the PDRA events this season.
Caruso Family Racing Team to Make PDRA Debut at 3rd Annual PDRA Spring Nationals in Rockingham
Canandaigua, NY – Longtime Top Sportsman Racer, Marc Caruso of Canandaigua, NY will be heading to Rockingham, NC for the PDRA Spring Nationals but, he’s making the jump up to the PDRA’s Pro Boost class. Caruso will be wheeling his Mike Janis/Jan-Cen powered Camaro against some of the baddest 1/8 mile racers on the planet when he enters the PDRA’s Pro Boost class for the first time.
“We’ve done pretty well with the help of engine tuner John Vouros and crew member Gary DeHey. It’s been a team effort and we’ve been making some really good passes but these guys in the PDRA are no joke. Just about every time these cars line up there’s a chance a personal best, track record, or national record can be broken. To be able to run with this caliber of racers is an honor and I’m sure it’ll be a learning experience,” said Marc Caruso.
Caruso Racing Gainesville NHRA Divisonal Preview
Canandaigua, NY – John Vouros, the 2001 IHRA Rookie of the Year and former tuner of Matt Hagan’s Pro Modified operation has joined the Caruso Family Racing Team and will tune the Marc Caruso piloted Top Sportsman entry at this weekend’s NHRA Division 2 event in Gainesville, Florida.
After some early season testing Marc performed very well at their first event of 2016 posting impressive numbers in his new blown alcohol Top Sportsman at the IHRA Divisional in Immokalee, Florida. The vehicle also received honors as the “Best Engineered” at the event.
The Caruso Family Racing team is a multi-car team based out of Western, NY. The team operates three race vehicles consisting of Marc’s Top Sportsman entry along with two Top Dragster entries. Team Driver Pete Maduri took home the win earlier this season at the IHRA divisional race in Immokalee, Florida. Team Driver, Billy Leber wheeled the other Caruso family Dragster to the winner’s circle at last year’s NHRA Summit Nationals in Norwlak, Ohio.
