CAMRIE CARUSO FIRED UP FOR NEW ENGLAND NATIONALS

DENVER, NC – After a breakout weekend at the SpringNationals in Houston, Texas, rookie of the year standout Camrie Caruso has had to wait almost six weeks to get back behind the wheel of her Sand Haulers of America Chevrolet Camaro. The wait has been hard for the third-generation driver who raced to her first career No. 1 qualifier quicker than any other Pro Stock driver in history except for last year’s rookie of the year Dallas Glenn, who also achieved that feat in just five races. To make her performance even more impressive Caruso raced to the final round and was center stage for the first all-female Pro Stock final and elimination round in the class’s history.

“Houston was a great weekend for the Sand Haulers of America team and I was really going for that win light in the final,” said Caruso, who recently announced Sand Hauler of America would add additional races as primary sponsor including this weekend’s New England Nationals. “Our whole team has a lot of confidence and our Titan Racing Engines have shown we can race with anyone. My crew chief Jim Yates has been very helpful and the support I get from my family is a big help too.”

MORE HISTORY IN HOUSTON FOR CARUSO WITH FIRST FINAL ROUND

BAYTOWN, TX – In just five races rookie Pro Stock driver Camrie Caruso has stamped her name into the NHRA record books at the final installment of the NHRA SpringNationals. Racing the Sand Haulers of America Chevrolet Camaro Caruso earned her first No. 1 qualifier faster than any other Pro Stock competitor in the modern era, tied with 2021 Rookie of the Year Dallas Glenn. She doubled down with more history racing to a final round match-up with four-time world champion Erica Enders and becoming part of the first pair of female Pro Stock racers to face each other in an elimination round. Her effort this weekend moved the young driver from Denver, North Carolina, up from 11th to 7th place in the Pro Stock point standings.

“First round was nerve wracking because we hadn’t made a representative pass in a few races,” said Caruso. “We got past the first round and then made it past the second round. We just took it round by round. Unfortunately, the final round didn’t go as planned. I am confident in my car every run. My guys do whatever they can to give me the best race car. We are doing everything we can to go down the track every run and I am working on getting better.”

In the first round Caruso as the No. 1 qualifier was able to select when she and her Sand Haulers of America Chevrolet Camaro made their pass. Her team elected to let all her competitors make runs and she faced off with veteran Fernando Cuarda as the last pair of Pro Stock cars. Caruso picked up her third first round victory of the season when Cuarda jumped the tree red-lighting, as Caruso cruised to the quarterfinals with a 6.609 second run at 209.17 mph. The run was right in the ballpark of her final qualifying pass.

CAMRIE CARUSO HOLDS ONTO HISTORIC NO. 1 AT SPRINGNATIONALS

BAYTOWN, TX – After two days of tough Pro Stock qualifying at the 35th NHRA SpringNationals rookie Camrie Caruso secured her first career No 1 qualifier in just her fifth race which ties her with last year’s Rookie of the Year Dallas Glenn as the quickest driver to earn their first career No. 1 in Pro Stock. She also became the first female to qualify No. 1 in Pro Stock at Houston Raceway Park’s NHRA SpringNationals. Driving the Sand Haulers of America Chevrolet Camaro with Titan Racing Engine power under the hood Caruso posted her quickest elapsed time of the event on Friday night with a 6.547 second pass at 209.39 mph. The 2022 Rookie of the Year favorite then withstood two rounds of qualifying today to hold onto the top spot.

“This means the world to me, my team and everyone who backs me,” said Caruso, a third-generation racer. “I am thankful and happy to head into race day as the No. 1 qualifier. I am super grateful for the opportunity to be the first female to qualify No. 1 at Houston Raceway Park. I never would have thought we would have achieved such a cool record so early. I know we had the capabilities, but this was just a great team accomplishment.”

In the final session Caruso was paired beside four-time Pro Stock champion Erica Enders for the second session of the day since they were 1-2 in the qualifying order. Caruso was lined up in the left lane with Enders occupying the right lane. Caruso posted a solid 6.605 seconds at 209.56 mph with Enders lighting up the scoreboard with a 6.556 second at 210.54 mph. As both drivers approached the top end Enders’ parachutes caught Caruso’s rear wing as the veteran driver darted around the rookie driver. Caruso’s Sand Haulers of America Chevrolet Camaro sustained some damage to the rear wing and rear end.

Caruso, who will be racing a Chevrolet Camaro with Sand Haulers of America backing, has been working to take the next step in her career after four successful starts that have shown positive signs at tracks across the country. The opportunity to make her own history at Houston Raceway Park has the young driver excited to get to Texas.

“I have never raced at Houston, so I don’t have any good or bad memories,” said Caruso, a third-generation racer. “We have had winning Houston as a goal. Every race I feel like I am making progress as a driver. The support I am getting from my family and team has been so important.”

The power generated by Titan Racing Engines has been consistent and plentiful as the season has progressed. Caruso continues to add career best elapsed times and speed marks to her resume. Sand Haulers of America Latest Brand to Ride with Camrie Caruso

DENVER, NC – Heading into the NHRA SpringNationals at historic Houston Raceway Park rookie sensation Camrie Caruso will be representing Texas-based Sand Haulers of America on her 200 mph Chevrolet Camaro Pro Stock entry. The first-year Pro Stock driver from Denver, North Carolina, has raced to two quarterfinal finishes and qualified for every race this season. She will be looking to keep her qualifying streak alive when the Sand Haulers of America Chevrolet Camaro rolls up for the first round of qualifying on Friday night.

“Having a Texas-based company, like Sand Haulers of America on our Chevrolet Camaro will hopefully give us some local fan support,” said Caruso, who competed in her first four-wide nationals two weeks ago in Las Vegas. “Brandon Foster has been great to work with and we really want to highlight what a quality operation he is running and get the word out about all the different aspects of his business. There are a lot of fans and people throughout the NHRA that could benefit from working with Sand Haulers of America either as a customer or a driver.”

CAMRIE CARUSO MAKES MOST OF FIRST VEGAS FOUR-WIDE

LAS VEGAS – For rookie Pro Stock driver Camrie Caruso her first four-wide racing experience was two days of qualifying runs and continued race day improvement behind the wheel of her Air Flow Research (AFR) SCAT Crankshafts and Procar by SCAT Chevrolet Camaro. Caruso entered race day at the NHRA Las Vegas Four-Wide Nationals, as the No. 9 qualifier on the heels of four qualifying runs that placed her in a quad with No. 1 qualifier Aaron Stanfield, No. 8 qualifier Matt Hartford and No. 16 qualifier Cristian Cuadra.

As all four Pro Stock race cars pulled to the ready line Caruso knew she would have to be at the top of her game with her Titan Racing Engine powered Chevrolet Camaro. Over the previous three races the favorite for the NHRA Rookie of the Year award has qualified for every race. All four race cars launched hard and Caruso was right in the mix as she charged down track from lane three. Through the windshield she could see Stanfield and Cuadra, who she had defeated in the previous two races, just out in front of her bumper. Her second quickest run of the weekend, 6.693 seconds, was not enough to advance to the second round. At the end of the day the young driver reflected on her first four-wide experience.

“I think it was neat,” said Caruso. “I don’t think it is as complicated as a lot of people make it out to be. I know my crew chief Jim Yates liked getting the four qualifying runs and it meant more seat time for me which is great.”

ROOKIE CAMRIE CARUSO JOINS KEYSTONE BIG SHOW WITH VP RACING

FT. WORTH, TX – Over the weekend NHRA Pro Stock rookie Camrie Caruso joined associate sponsor VP Racing at the Keystone BIG Show in Ft. Worth, Texas. The national event featured premier educational events, product training sessions as well as booths from nearly all of Keystone’s suppliers and brands. Caruso had her new look Chevrolet Camaro featuring the branding of Air Flow Research (AFR) SCAT Crankshafts and Procar by SCAT that she will be racing at the NHRA Four-Wide Nationals, April 1-3, on display in the VP Racing’s booth. Throughout the day on Saturday Caruso talked with show attendees, signed autographs and talked up the many benefits of VP Racing Lubricants.

“This was a great show and it was cool to be able to represent our sponsor VP Racing,” said Caruso, who has qualified in the top half at every NHRA national event this season. “Doing shows like this really gives you the chance to meet a lot of people and talk about what we do. Tons of people stopped and took pictures of our Chevrolet Camaro that features our Las Vegas primary sponsors Air Flow Research (AFR) SCAT Crankshafts and Procar by SCAT. It was also great to see Joe Amato. He is an NHRA legend.”

The chance to represent VP Racing on an off weekend was an opportunity that Caruso, who is building her racing program throughout her rookie season, could not pass up. The relationship between Caruso Family Racing and Titan Racing Engines with VP Racing Lubricants is instrumental since they are working on the development of the O weight oil that the team runs in their Titan Racing Engine program.  The team is also running VP Racing Lubricants’ gear oil and they are working to develop a transmission fluid for Pro Stock cars.

Rookie Standout Camrie Caruso will Rep Air Flow Research, SCAT Crankshafts and Procar by SCAT at Las Vegas Four-Wide Nationals

DENVER, NC – As the 2022 NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series begins to pick up speed, Pro Stock rookie driver Camrie Caruso continues to succeed on and off the track. The 24-year-old racer from Denver, North Carolina, will experience the NHRA Las Vegas Four-Wide Nationals for the first time with a new look Chevrolet Camaro featuring the branding of Air Flow Research (AFR) SCAT Crankshafts and Procar by SCAT. Caruso has been hard at work since January improving her driving skills and introducing new companies to the NHRA’s diverse fanbase. The alliance with Air Flow Research, SCAT Crankshafts and Procar by SCAT is another example of Caruso’s marketing savvy.

“We have been talking with the team at Air Flow Research, SCAT Crankshafts and Procar by SCAT about getting involved with our program for a while,” said Caruso, who has qualified at all three NHRA national events in 2022 and advance to the quarterfinals the past two races. “They are the aftermarket go-to seat for Chevrolet Camaros so this relationship was literally a perfect fit. When you add in the backing of Air Flow Research and SCAT Crankshafts with their long history in Pro Stock, I could not be more excited to represent these companies.”

CARUSO CONTINUES STRONG QUALIFYING EFFORT NO. 7 AT GATORNATIONALS

GAINESVILLE, FL – Showing no signs of slowing down rookie Pro Stock driver Camrie Caruso continued to impress as she made another strong run in the lone Pro Stock qualifying session at the NHRA Gatornationals today. As track temperatures dropped and conditions turned challenging Caruso, a 24-year-old driver from Denver, North Carolina, was unfazed and qualified her Right Trailers Chevrolet Camaro powered by Titan Racing Engines No. 7 in a tough field. Her run of 6.516 seconds at 210.70 mph was her quickest career run.

“That was a really good run and I am so proud of this Right Trailers Chevrolet Camaro team,” said Caruso, following her third consecutive qualifier in the top half of the field. “Everyone on this team is working so hard and only getting one run today was a big challenge. We knew that session would be tricky. I just did my routine and trusted my team. I am excited to head into race day tomorrow. We are looking to keep building on our success.”

Friday’s qualifying session was rained out and today more rain pushed the schedule back into the late afternoon.  The NHRA Safety Safari did a masterful job of preparing the racetrack for competition and Caruso took full advantage of a solid racing surface. Her Jim Yates tuned Camaro launched hard and Caruso kept it right in the middle of the groove as she accelerated down the track. At the time of her run it was the second quickest pass of the day and she would eventually get shuffled back a few slots.
