BUDDY HULL MAKING FUNNY CAR TEAM OWNERSHIP DEBUT IN GAINESVILLE

DALLAS – When the 2026 NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series season kicks off at the legendary AMALIE Motor Oil NHRA Gatornationals, March 5-8, at Gainesville Raceway, Buddy Hull will roll into the staging lanes with more momentum, and more pride, than ever before.

The event marks Hull’s third season competing in the ultra-competitive Funny Car category, but more importantly, it signifies his debut as a Funny Car team owner with Hull Racing. The Texas-based driver has spent the offseason building the program from the ground up alongside his wife, Madi, laying the foundation for what he believes will be a breakout year.

“This offseason has been the most meaningful of my career,” said Hull. “Madi and I have poured everything we have into Hull Racing. There were long nights, tough decisions and a lot of faith involved. But standing here now, heading into Gainesville as a team owner, I couldn’t be more excited. We didn’t cut corners. Buddy Hull to Debut FS Mustang Funny Car at Gatornationals

DALLAS – Hull Racing led by team owner and driver Buddy Hull will start the 2026 NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series at the historic Gatornationals with new sponsor and marketing partner FS Performance and Sam Pack Ford on their 12,000-horspowered Funny Car. The design will mirror the 2025 high performance Mustang GT Premium that the dealership designed at the end of the year. The limited-edition Ford Mustang “Buddy Hull” specialty car is inspired by the same grit, attitude and adrenaline that drives his Nitro Funny Car program. Over the off-season Hull Racing led by crew chiefs Mike Guger and Matt Bynum have been preparing for the season opener.

“We are taking the opportunity to work with Sam Pack Ford and FS Performance to the next level,” said Hull. “It is one thing to have a car on display, but when you can put that car on the racetrack at the Gatornationals in front of the whole world of drag racing that will be so cool. I was able to be a part of the Mustang GT Premium design process and give them ideas on the performance levels of the Mustang as well as styling suggestions to make it very personal to my brand. Hull Racing Adds Crew Chief Matt Bynum and Focuses on Strong Start in Gainesville

DALLAS – Team owner and Funny Car driver Buddy Hull is building his newly formed Hull Racing team on a foundation of performance, safety and strong relationships. The past two months have seen a flurry of activity in Hull’s race shop located just south of the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex by long-time crew chief Mike Guger and new addition veteran crew chief Matt Bynum. With two Funny Cars in the shop the tandem has been meticulously going over every part and piece of the operation preparing for their season debut at the historic Gatornationals, March 5-8, 2026. Hull is excited about the beginning of a new era in his career.

“I have been a team owner and a team driver but this new endeavor, Hull Racing, has me so excited for my future,” said Hull. “This is a family-owned team with my wife Madi and my son Maverick. We are building a program that I am very proud of. Having Matt join Mike to tune this Funny Car gives me a lot of confidence for the long term. Matt has a background like mine, and I am really looking forward to working with him and seeing the success he and Mike can have with this team.”

Sam Pack Ford Releases Buddy Hull Edition Mustang

DALLAS – FS Performance and Sam Pack Ford teamed up with Funny Car driver Buddy Hull to create a limited-edition Ford Mustang “Buddy Hull” specialty car, inspired by the same grit, attitude, and adrenaline that drive his Nitro Funny Car program. Hull also has a full-size Funny Car on display at the North Dallas dealership.

“This was an amazing opportunity to partner with Sam Pack Ford to design a killer Mustang,” said Hull. “I was able to sit in and give them ideas on the performance levels of the Mustang as well as styling suggestions to make it very personal to my brand. This is a one-of-a-kind Mustang and I can’t wait to hand it over to a lucky customer.”

Buddy Hull Building for the Future with Announcement of Return to Team Ownership

DALLAS, TX – Buddy Hull today announced he will be returning to the role of NHRA team owner and driver for the 2026 NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series and beyond under the Hull Racing banner. The business owner from Dallas, Texas, parted ways with Jim Dunn Racing after two seasons behind the wheel of their iconic Funny Car. Hull has assembled a complete racing operation and will be ready for the season opening Gatornationals, March 6-8, 2026, at historic Gainesville Raceway.

“I want to thank Jim Dunn Racing for the opportunity to race a nitro Funny Car full-time,” said Hull, who raced to numerous quarterfinal finishes over the past two seasons. “After the experiences of the past two seasons the time was right for me to take ownership of my career and brand. I have a lot of business opportunities on and off the track and this was the perfect time to take the next step in my Funny Car career.”

Hull will continue to compete in the Funny Car class with his own Funny Car team led by crew chiefs Mike Guger and Johnny West. He currently has two complete Funny Cars at his Dallas area shop, and the team will be testing in advance of the 2026 season with plans to be a consistent mid-3.90 Funny Car in what is shaping up to be very competitive Funny Car field. JIM DUNN RACING LEADS ICONIC MOON EQUIPPED FUNNY CAR INTO WORLD FINALS

LONG BEACH, CA – The 2025 NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series season comes to a close this weekend at the In-N-Out Burger NHRA Finals at In-N-Out Burger Pomona Dragstrip, November 13-16, and for Buddy Hull and Jim Dunn Racing, it’s set to be a celebration of legacy, perseverance and passion for the sport.

Hull will take to the track behind the wheel of the Moon Equipped Jim Dunn Racing Funny Car, a fan-favorite that’s synonymous with both speed and nostalgia. The Finals will mark the fifth appearance of a Mooneyes livery this season, a fitting tribute as both Jim Dunn Racing and Mooneyes commemorate 75 years of excellence in their respective crafts.

DALLAS – The fast-paced world of Funny Car racing takes center stage once again as Talkin’ Funny Cars with Buddy Hull debuts episode eight of season two, this Wednesday, November 5, at 8 p.m. ET and 8 p.m. PT on the NHRA FAST Channel. HULL LOOKING PAST VEGAS TO WORLD FINALS

LAS VEGAS – Fan-favorite Funny Car driver Buddy Hull made his much-anticipated return to NHRA competition this weekend at the Dodge NHRA Nevada Nationals powered by Direct Connection, held at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. It was Hull’s first event back behind the wheel since suffering a hand injury during the Sonoma Nationals in July, and his return was well-welcomed by the Jim Dunn Racing team, fans and the NHRA community.

Piloting the KGC Construction Funny Car, Hull showed steady progress throughout the weekend. His best performance came in the fourth and final qualifying session on Saturday, when he powered to a 4.163 second pass at 257.63 mph. In one of the most competitive Funny Car fields of the season, with 21 cars vying for 16 spots, Hull ultimately qualified in the No. 19 position, narrowly missing the field for Sunday’s eliminations. Despite not making the race day lineup, Hull’s return to the driver’s seat was a personal and professional milestone.

“I’m just so grateful to be back out here,” said Hull. “After being sidelined since Sonoma, it feels amazing to get back in the car and do what I love. This team, Jim Dunn Racing, has been incredible through everything, giving me the time I needed to heal and then welcoming me back like family.
