Buddy Hull To Race in Support of Down Syndrome Partnership of North Texas during Texas Fall Nationals

DALLAS – Top Fuel team owner and driver Buddy Hull will be racing to raise awareness and donations for the Down Syndrome Partnership of North Texas during the Stampede of Speed and the NHRA Texas Fall Nationals at Texas Motorplex, October 6-15. The wildly popular driver on the NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series has a history of high-speed philanthropy and joining forces with the Down Syndrome Partnership of North Texas is another effort by the big-hearted Texan to support those in need. Hull will be participating in several fan events and racing activities throughout the 10-day Stampede of Speed. The ultimate goal is to raise $50,000 for the organization through corporate and fan donations. Hull is confident that the support and funds will make an immediate difference.

“I met with the folks from Down Syndrome Partnership of North Texas and I immediately knew we needed to get involved with them,” said Hull, who has also supported breast cancer charities as well as anti-bully initiatives. “This organization has been working with families and caregivers for almost two decades and I just really felt the need to get involved. Fans that make a donation through the Buddy Hull Racing Fund Raising landing page will get their name on my race car for the Stampede of Speed and I would love to see the car covered.”

BUDDY HULL AND HULL’K TOP FUEL NARROWLY MISS U.S. NATIONALS

INDIANAPOLIS, IN – After nearly a week of appearances and qualifying Buddy Hull and his HULL’K Top Fuel dragster, which also gets major backing from Methanol Moonshine and Renegade Race Fuels, narrowly missed racing in the 69th Dodge Power Brokers U. S. Nationals. The businessman and Top Fuel team owner from Dallas, Texas, wrapped up qualifying just .001 of a second behind the 16th quickest Top Fuel competitor in one of the toughest fields in U.S. Nationals history. The team which does not race the full NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series continues to learn and develop a winning combination.

“What we learned this weekend is we need to put ourselves in a situation where qualifying 14 15 or 16 doesn’t happen anymore,” said Hull. “We need to get ourselves in a spot where we’re consistently running, 3.73 to 3.77 seconds and put ourselves in the field, in the number 10, 11, or 12 spot right from the start.”

Hull started the event on Friday night smoking the tires in the lone night session. The cool temperatures offered excellent conditions for teams that were able to make clean runs. Hull and his Mike Guger tuned 11,000 horsepower HULL’K themed Top Fuel dragster battled over the next two days to make up for the missed opportunity. On Saturday morning they posted a 3.863 second run that had them sitting No. 14 after two sessions. On Sunday morning they posted their best run of the weekend 3.823 seconds at 322.65 mph which moved them to the No. 16 spot on the edge of the qualified field. In the final session they were unable to improve on their performance and Will Smith posted a time of 3.822 seconds to move around Hull.

BUDDY HULL LOOKING FOR INSPIRED WEEKEND AT U.S. NATIONALS

DALLAS – The 69th Dodge power Brokers U.S. Nationals, August 31-September 4, will have a prize purse of $2 million, hundreds and hundreds of competitors from all over the globe and one passionate, high-energy HULL’K themed Top Fuel dragster driven by Dallas entrepreneur Buddy Hull. The businessman from Texas has turned his Methanol Moonshine/Renegade Race Fuels 11,000-horsepower land rocket into an eye-catching homage to one of the biggest superheroes in the known universe. The idea came to Hull as an effort to attract young kids and bring more casual fans into the sport.

“I just love doing cool things and trying to introduce new people to NHRA drag racing,” said Hull. “We are going to run this design a couple races and hopefully have some fun and put some smiles on some faces. I can’t thank all my sponsors for supporting this idea. Indy is the biggest race of the year and we wanted to make a bit of a splash.”

Hull has been working on growing his program since the 2021 season and every year the third generation drag racer had made progress. The biggest leap he took was adding veteran crew chief Mike Guger to his program at the beginning of this season. With Guger’s wealth of experience and keen eye Hull’s operation has been steadily improving and this weekend he feels as confident as ever that the team could turn a corner with improved performance and success on race day.

BUDDY HULL TO GET HULL’K FOR U.S. NATIONALS

DALLAS – Top Fuel team owner and driver Buddy Hull has stormed onto the NHRA drag racing scene in recent years with a wildly positive personality and a race team that is steadily improving with each national event they enter. During this year’s Dodge Power Brokers U.S. Nationals at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park Hull will transform his team from the traditional Methanol Moonshine/Renegade Race Fuels dragster to the HULL’K Top Fuel dragster, an ohmage to one of his favorite superheroes, The Incredible Hulk.

“The HULL’K Top Fuel dragster is all about the kids,” said Hull, who is a former professional powerlifter. “I want to get kids excited and it is all about the next generation. We gotta get kids’ eyeballs on the sport and I want to grab peoples’ attention. The HULL’K theme also plays off my last name and personality so it just came to me one day.”

This season Hull’s 11,000-horsepower Top Fuel dragster has had two personalities with a Bruce Banner version showing up as of late to replace a Hulk-like version that had Hull struggling early in the year. Hull along with crew chief Mike Guger have been in their shop working since Chicago to tune up Hull’s HULL’K Top Fuel dragster to make an impact at the Dodge Power Brokers U.S. Nationals, August 31 – September 4.

BUDDY HULL FINDS CONFIDENCE IN TOPEKA

TOPEKA, KS – As the saying goes, nothing worth having comes easily. No one knows this better than Top Fuel team owner and driver Buddy Hull. After making two solid runs during qualifying and appearing in the No. 12 spot on Sunday, Hull suffered a tough loss to Clay Millican during the Menards NHRA Nationals Presented By PetArmor.

“Nothing in my life has ever come easily and because of that, I believe that’s why I’ve gotten where I’ve gotten,” said Hull. “It’s taught me to never quit, never stop, never give up and just keep going. And that’s exactly what I am doing.”

In his fifth event of the 2023 NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series, Hull made a 3.941 second, 320.74 mph pass during the first round – his best pass of the weekend. Unfortunately, it was not enough against Clay Millican, who is currently No. 10 in the points in the category.

CONTINUED IMPROVEMENT HAS BUDDY HULL EXCITED FOR TOPEKA

DALLAS – Buddy Hull has been steadily building his racing program and heading into the NHRA Topeka Nationals the Dallas-based businessman and Top Fuel racer is eager to make some big strides this weekend. This will be Hull’s fifth event of the 2023 NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series and Hull has faced a plethora of challenges, but the rising star in the NHRA is undeterred. The Renegade Race Fuels Top Fuel dragster with backing from Methanol Moonshine will be ready to race this weekend starting on Friday at Heartland Park Topeka.

“This is one of the hardest things I have ever done but it is also one of the most satisfying,” said Hull, as the team prepares for a return engagement to Heartland Park Topeka. “We had some mechanical issues that really had us scratching our heads at the start of the season. We got those sorted out after Chicago and we had a great race in Denver. We ran really well and most importantly we didn’t hurt any parts. I can’t wait to get to Topeka and really see what we can do. I have to thank my crew chief Mike Guger for really putting in some long hours to get this car where it needs to be.”

HULL MAKES STRONG IMPROVEMENTS IN DENVER

DENVER – It’s always a good weekend when you get your mojo back, and that’s exactly what happened for Dallas-based Top Fuel driver and team owner, Buddy Hull, at the Dodge Power Brokers NHRA Mile-High Nationals at Bandimere Speedway.

“This weekend was a major success for me and my guys,” said Hull. “It was just what we needed to get our morale up and our confidence back. The crew guys feel good about working on the car now because they get to see the fruits of their labor, which is the car leaving the starting line and crossing the finish line without having rods hanging out of it. We saw major improvements in the car and working as a team, and I’m thankful we still have several races left this season to show everyone what we’ve got.”

Hull’s last race was the Gerber Collision & Glass Route 66 NHRA Nationals in Chicago in May, where his team faced several issues with their car. But after a lot of time and energy in the shop, they arrived in Denver stronger than ever.

BUDDY HULL WORKS OUT NEW KINKS IN CHICAGO

CHICAGO – Every Top Fuel driver knows that to be successful in drag racing, there has to be some trial and error. For Dallas-based driver Buddy Hull, that error unfortunately meant that he did not qualify for competition on Sunday at the Gerber Collision & Glass Route 66 NHRA Nationals presented by PEAK Performance.

“It’s the first time since I’ve been a team owner, we haven’t qualified,” said Hull. “It’s an interesting feeling. Within that feeling I have to thank everybody from Renegade Race Fuels. I’m disappointed in myself that we didn’t get in the show for them and my team.”

With every run during qualifying, Hull’s Renegade Fuel and Motor Oils Top Fuel dragster improved in both elapsed time and speed. In round one of qualifying, he lost traction early and in round two his car went up in smoke within the first 330 feet. The final qualifying session saw Hull mix up cylinders and then push out a head gasket, leading the engine to let go with a quick flash of flames. Still, this was a 3.952 second pass at 264.86 mph. Unfortunately it wasn’t quite enough, when competing in one of the quickest Top Fuel fields in history.

Buddy Hull Looking to Turn Up Heat at Route 66 Nationals

DALLAS, TX – With two races under his belt in the 2023 NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series season Buddy Hull is looking to build on the positives. A solid qualifier at both Phoenix and Las Vegas races, Hull and his Renegade Fuel and Oils Top Fuel dragster team will be looking to make moves at the Gerber Collision & Glass Route 66 NHRA Nationals this weekend. The track will be a new facility for the Top Fuel driver who also owns several companies in the Dallas area, but his 12,000-horsepower Top Fueler is tuned by crew chief Mike Guger who has considerable experience on the track located 25 minutes from downtown Chicago.

“Having Mike as our crew chief has been a game changer for our Renegade Fuel and Oils Top Fuel dragster,” said Hull. “His level of experience has been instrumental in our off-season preparation and improvements during the first two races. The guys on the team are so much more comfortable with the qualifying and race day routine. I think we will take another big step forward in Chicago.”

This season Hull has raced at the Arizona Nationals and the Las Vegas Four-Wide Nationals and shown consistent performance improvements. Racing in his third season at this level on a limited schedule is a challenge for Hull but one he relishes. Traditionally, representing his company Vertex Roofing and General Contractors Hull will be racing this weekend with primary branding from Renegade Race Fuel and Oils. Hull’s team will also get support from Shorewood’s Tyson Motor in the form of a Dodge Ram Truck to tow the Renegade Fuel and Oils Top Fuel dragster from the pits to the starting line.

Renegade Fuels Takes Center Stage with Buddy Hull in Chicago

DALLAS, TX – Top Fuel driver Buddy Hull continues to make a positive impression and impact on the NHRA Camping World Drag Racing series. During the upcoming Gerber Collision & Glass Route 66 NHRA Nationals presented by PEAK Performance, May 19-21, the Dallas-based driver will be racing a newly designed Renegade Fuels Top Fuel dragster. NHRA fans will be reintroduced to professional drag racing at Rt. 66 Raceway and Hull is excited about getting in front of a brand-new racing audience for Renegade Fuels as well as his other major sponsor Methanol Moonshine.

“This is a great opportunity for us with Renegade Fuels to be the primary sponsor on our 12,000-horsepower Top Fuel dragster during the Chicago race,” said Hull, who started his season qualifying No. 13 at the Arizona Nationals. “Renegade Fuels came on board this year joining Methanol Moonshine and Go Lithium and we could not be more excited.”

At the beginning of the season Hull announced the addition of Renegade Race Fuels as a major associate sponsor for his Methanol Moonshine Top Fuel dragster team. Since that announcement Hull has competed in Arizona and Las Vegas qualifying at each event and garnering media and fan attention along the way. The new look for Chicago will once again push Hull and his Mike Guger-tuned team to the top of the minds of NHRA fans across the country.
