BLAKE ALEXANDER & CHAD GREEN BRING NITRO-BURNING FUNNY CARS TO NHRA VIRGINIA NATIONALS THIS WEEKEND IN SEARCH OF VICTORY
NORTH DINWIDDIE, VA – Blake Alexander was just a kid when he started attending drag races at the popular Virginia Motorsports Park, so he is anxious to return
to the racing facility this weekend (June 20-22) for the American Rebel Light Beer NHRA Virginia Nationals.
Alexander, the veteran Funny Car driver from Charlotte, will be joined by his teammate Chad Green in their nitro-burning Chad Green Motorsports Funny Cars when qualifying gets underway this Saturday with three separate runs at 11:30 a.m., 2 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. EDT.
The four-time NHRA national event winner, Alexander began his trek to VMP as a fan and moved into the NHRA Sportsman ranks as a teenager. Blake is now one of the Funny Car division’s top contenders with his 12,000-horsepower Pronto Auto Service Centers Dodge Hellcat machine.
“I started coming to the Virginia track as a fan and later as a racer in the NHRA Sportsman ranks,” said Alexander. “I enjoy racing there as the racing surface is smooth and the three qualifying runs on Saturday are so unique. We usually run two passes in qualifying each day at the NHRA races, but this is a great opportunity for the fans to see the world’s fastest race cars three separate times. I’m excited to come back for the Virginia Nationals with our potent Pronto Funny Car.” Continue reading
BLAKE ALEXANDER CLOCKS SEASON BEST 3.89 TO QUALIFY FOURTH, TAKES OUT HIS TEAM OWNER TO MOVE TO QUARTERFINALS AT EPPING
EPPING, NH – Blake Alexander performed impressively this weekend in the NHRA New England Nationals drag races by recording his
season-best time of 3.899 in qualifying and just missing advancing to the semifinals in his Chad Green Motorsports Pronto Auto Service Centers Dodge Funny Car.
Alexander’s qualifying run secured the Charlotte driver the No. 4 position in the 16-car Funny Car field, the highest qualifying spot for Blake with the newly built Funny Car.
Unfortunately for the CGM squad Sunday, Alexander and his teammate and team owner, Chad Green, had to matchup in the opening round of Funny Car eliminations, knowing one of the cars was going to be back in the trailer after the race. Both Alexander and Green had to pedal the throttle of their nitro-burning machines with Blake taking the win light with 5.189 to Chad’s 5.378.
In the second round, Alexander went up against the recent Route 66 Nationals winner Jack Beckman and Blake was quick off the starting line ahead of the John Force Racing competitor. But Beckman had to come from behind at the finish line to take the victory. Beckman’s 3.878 was low elapsed time of the round with Alexander’s 3.934 second quick. But Blake’s strong effort was not enough. Continue reading

Head Racing Introduces Dylan Cromwell Memorial Scholarship
Blake Alexander, Head Racing to pay tribute to Cromwell during NHRA U.S. Nationals weekend
BROWNSBURG, IN – On Sunday, October 24, 2021, Dylan Cromwell was killed in a highway accident while driving one of the Head Racing
Funny Car transporters to the NHRA Nevada Nationals in Las Vegas. The 23-year-old Montana native made a profound impact on the Head Racing team and driver Blake Alexander, and the group has now banded together to form the Dylan Cromwell Memorial Scholarship. Head Racing will also honor Cromwell during the upcoming NHRA U.S. Nationals at Indianapolis Raceway Park, beginning with a celebration of life on Thursday, August 31.
Cromwell was born and raised in Scobey, Montana, a small town in the northeast corner of the state. The region is known as the “Middle of Nowhere, USA,” as the nearest metro area is more than four hours away. Cromwell was proud to call Scobey home, so it was important to Head, Alexander, and Cromwell’s family to help other young people from Scobey through the Dylan Cromwell Memorial Scholarship.
“We have been working with the Cromwells for some time on establishing this,” said Jim Head, team owner, Head Racing. “Our mission is to help promising individuals like Dylan gain opportunities to hone their skills in mechanical schooling. It is an honor to establish this memorial scholarship alongside the Cromwells and the people of Scobey, Montana. Dylan’s legacy in his hometown and our sport will once again be celebrated this weekend.”

Your Car. Your Data. Your Choice. Partners with National Pronto Association at NHRA Northwest Nationals
Racing fans and car enthusiasts galvanized by national campaign to ensure car data access and control for car owners, drivers
BETHESDA, MD – The national education campaign Your Car. Your Data. Your Choice.is a sponsor of the Blake
Alexander-driven Funny Car at this weekend’s NHRA Northwest Nationalsin Seattle, WA, August 2-4. The campaign is a co-sponsor with National Pronto Association. Together, they are working to bring urgent attention to the car data access and control issue, which has implications for millions of car owners and drivers nationwide.
Newer model cars today are equipped with advanced technologies that enable real-time, wireless transmission of data related to driver behavior, GPS location and vehicle health, including maintenance and repair information. As this technology advances, carmakers are locking in exclusive access to and control of car data. The result could lead to greater inconvenience, greater cost and fewer options for repair and maintenance services for car owners and drivers.
Having access to and control of data from racecars, including Alexander’s short-wheelbase Funny Car, allow crew chiefs such as Daniel Wilkerson to monitor car health, diagnose problems and improve performance.
Blake Alexander to Drive Head Racing Funny Car at NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals
BRISTOL, TN – NHRA Funny Car driver and team owner Blake Alexander wasn’t originally planning on competing
at this weekend’s NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals at Bristol Dragway. A last-minute call from veteran team owner Jim Head quickly changed that, though, as Alexander is set to fill in for Jonnie Lindberg in the Head Contractors Ford Mustang Funny Car.
“Jim called me while I was on vacation with my wife’s family at the beach and asked if I could drive in Bristol,” Alexander said. “I moved around some plans since I was supposed to be in Manhattan to meet with my friend from Parts Authority, Blake Buller. We are now linking up in August and I’ll be driving for Jim’s team in Bristol.”
Alexander, who owns and drives the Pronto Auto Service Centers Ford Mustang Funny Car tuned by Dan Wilkerson, has attended five races this season after purchasing his own Funny Car operation. He last raced at Bristol in 2013, charging to a semifinal finish.
