Alexis DeJoria the Bandero Premium Tequila Toyota GR Supra Funny Car Ready for Circle K 4Wide

Concord, NC – The last time DeJoria competed at zMAX Dragway (September 2022), she advanced to the final round to finish as the event runner-up.  She has qualified second for the last three consecutive events, and has two semifinal appearances throughout the first four events of the season.

“We made great, consistent runs and gained some serious points even though we didn’t take home the win in Vegas. To say I’m looking forward to this next race would be an understatement. We came close to putting our Bandero Supra in the winner’s circle the last time we were in Charlotte, and with the way everything has been coming together so far this year, I like our chances this weekend,” explained DeJoria.

Fan Events: DeJoria will join her Toyota Gazoo Racing teammates at the Toyota midway display from 10:45 – 11:15 a.m. on Saturday for a Team Toyota autograph session.

DeJoria and Bandero GR Supra Team Continue to Impress in Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS – Alexis DeJoria continued her streak of qualifying in the No. 2 position and advancing into the later elimination rounds on Sunday at the NHRA Four-Wide Nationals in Las Vegas. DeJoria, who has enjoyed a hot start to the 2023 season, including two semifinal finishes in four events, winning the inaugural #2Fast2Tasty Funny Car Challenge, and setting top speed of the meet in Pomona, Calif., scored her third consecutive No. 2 qualifier during the first of two back-to-back four-wide events.

After clocking low E.T. of the second and third qualifying sessions, and second-low E.T. of Q1, DeJoria was rewarded with eight out of 12 possible bonus points, and the DC Motorsports team looked like the team to beat heading into race day. In round one, DeJoria faced John Force, Paul Lee, and Jason Rupert. Crew chiefs Del Worsham and Nicky Boninfante tuned the Bandero Premium Tequila Toyota GR Supra to a stout 3.967 E.T., which was the best elapsed time in DeJoria’s quad, and held up to be the second-quickest run of the first session. In the quarterfinals, DeJoria drew Force, Matt Hagan, and Jeff Diehl. DeJoria was hoping to advance to the Vegas four-wide final for the second year in a row, but she was a tick late on the tree and while DeJoria and Force recorded similar E.T.s, he was able to cross the finish line first and would advance with Hagan into the final elimination quad.

Alexis DeJoria the Bandero Premium Tequila Toyota GR Supra Funny Car Looking for 1st Four Wide Victory in Vegas

Las Vegas, NV – DeJoria is a two-time Las Vegas 1 winner but is seeking her first victory at a four-wide event.  She’s advanced to the final elimination quad at the 2022 event.

Alexis has enjoyed a strong start to the 2023 season which includes two semifinal finishes, two No. 2 qualifying positions, winning the inaugural #2Fast2Tasty Funny Car Challenge, and setting top speed of the meet in Pomona.  She is currently ranked third in the point standings.

“I’ve won the Spring Las Vegas race twice,” explain DeJoria, “but those wins were from before we switched to the four-wide format. Our Bandero GR Supra has been quick and consistent all year, and I truly believe a win is right around the corner for our DC Motorsports team. We advanced to the final elimination quad at last year’s Vegas race, and I feel like we have everything we need to get the job done this weekend. Everything has really started to come together as of late. I’m especially excited because we’re back to four qualifying runs this weekend, all of which are in the middle of the day. As long as we continue our trend of performing well during qualifying, we’ll be in a really good position, armed with some really good data, to make it a long race day, and hopefully end our Sunday with our first four-wide Wally.”

Three Win Lights and a Quarterfinal Finish for No. 3 Ranked Alexis DeJoria in Pomona

POMONA, CA – Before race day had even gotten underway at the NHRA Winternationals, Alexis DeJoria had already set off two win lights at In-N-Out Burger Pomona Dragstrip in Pomona, Calif.

The SoCal native started her weekend by posting a 3.883 E.T., which was the second-quickest pass of the first round, and held up to be the second-quickest elapsed time recorded during qualifying. On Saturday, DeJoria participated in the Funny Car vs. Top Fuel ‘Supra Showdown’ where she earned her first win light of the weekend, and the second win for the flopper drivers by defeating her opponent Justin Ashley, ensuring Team Funny Car has a 2-0 lead heading into the next showdown event in Las Vegas.

Next up for DeJoria was the Mission #2Fast2Tasty Challenge, which she qualified for by advancing to the semifinals at the NHRA Arizona Nationals the week prior. By defeating Ron Capps during round one of the specialty race, DeJoria collected her second win light of the day. On Sunday, she picked up win light No. 3 during the opening round of eliminations when she sent Jeff Arend to the trailer. Against her former teammate, DeJoria nabbed the starting line advantage and never trailed for the win to take her No. 2 qualified Bandero Premium Tequila Toyota GR Supra into a quarterfinal contest versus Matt Hagan. After powering to back-to-back semifinal finishes at the first two events of the 2023 NHRA Camping World Series season, DeJoria was looking to make it three in a row on Sunday, but her machine started dancing around as she approached the top end, and she was forced to click it off while Hagan made a clean pass for the win.

Alexis DeJoria Secures Another #2Fast2Fasty NHRA Challenge Spot with Semifinal Finish at NHRA Arizona Nationals

CHANDLER, AZ – A day after winning the inaugural Mission Foods #2Fast2Tasty Funny Car Challenge, Alexis DeJoria raced to a semifinal finish at the sold-out NHRA Arizona Nationals Sunday afternoon at Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park near Phoenix. DeJoria’s strong weekend in the desert really kicked off on Saturday as she started the first-ever #2Fast2Tasty Funny Car Challenge with a rematch against Matt Hagan, who beat DeJoria in the semifinals at Gainesville. DeJoria got the win this time with a 3.980-second pass at 308.92 MPH which also put her in the No. 3 qualifying position. A 3.949-second victory over Tim Wilkerson followed in the second round, giving DeJoria lane choice over defending world champion Ron Capps in the semifinals. Bandero Premium Tequila Toyota GR Supra Funny Car Team Looking for More Rounds in Phoenix

Chandler, AZ – Alexis earned her first Funny Car victory during the 2014 NHRA Arizona Nationals.  She’s clinched a spot in the inaugural Mission Foods #2Fast2Tasty NHRA Challenge, contested this weekend.  DeJoria will be looking to avenge her Gatornationals semifinal round loss to her first #2Fast2Tasty challenge opponent, Matt Hagan

Alexis reflects on Phenix, “Racing this last year at Wild Horse Pass will be a somber one. Between the annual NHRA Arizona Nationals event, and all of the years we went there for pre-season testing, I feel like I’ve spent a lot of time at that facility. The Phoenix track holds a lot of great memories for me, especially since that’s where I won my first professional nitro Funny Car event back in 2014. I’ll miss going there every year, and of course, will miss all of our wonderful fans.”

We have as good of a chance as any to get it done. We’re debuting a new look on our Bandero Tequila GR Supra this weekend, and what better way to start the year than by parking it in the winner’s circle.”
