Beginning Apr. 23-24, at the ADRL Hardee’s Georgia Drags VI at South Georgia Motorsports Park, all ADRL crew members are strongly encouraged to wear matching collared shirts. ADRL Technical Services Offers Reminders to Competitors
O’FALLON, MO — With its 2010 season now underway, the American Drag Racing League (ADRL) reminds all ADRL
race teams to review and understand all current rules and to monitor the series’ official Web site at www.ADRL.us for updates, additions or changes.
“We encountered a couple of instances at our season opener last month at Houston Raceway Park where teams seemed unaware of what’s required,” Tom Grooms of the ADRL Technical Services division said. “But it’s all there on the Web site and if anyone has any questions I’m happy to take their calls at (636) 272-2375 or they can e-mail me at tom@adrl.us.”
The ADRL returns to action Apr. 23-24, with the ADRL Hardee’s Georgia Drags VI at South Georgia Motorsports Park, where Grooms stresses all SFI certifications must be up to date before an entry will be permitted on the track.
Pappas Qualifies #1 at ADRL Season Opener in Houston with a 3.88!

Houston, TX – Straight off their 2009 ADRL Xtreme 10.5 world championship, Spiro Pappas racing is not resting on its laurels as it took the number 1 spot in the rain postponed season opener at Houston Raceway Park (HRP).
The team unloaded the car and picked up right where they left off after testing at HRP’s Spring Warm-Up in early March. Their 3.931 @ 194.88 mph run during the test session was backed up 3 weeks later with their first round qualifying shot of 3.924 @ 195.22 mph. This gave them the number 1 position after the first round of qualifying with their closest competitor 3 tenths of a second behind. Round 2 and 3 would not see the team improve as they worked on their chassis and engine setup.
TPI Continues to Grow with ADRL, Adds Merchandise Program
NEW BERN, NC – Since 2004, the American Drag Racing League’s explosive growth has taken the drag racing world by storm. Much has changed in and around the ADRL, but Tysinger Promotions’ presence as one of the enduring forces behind the scenes of the organization has been a constant. At this past weekend’s Universal Technical Institute Dragpalooza VI at Houston Raceway Park, TPI marked its sixth year of providing complete promotional and event services for the ADRL.
“As the ADRL has grown, so has our involvement with them,” TPI President Wendy Stallings said. “What started out as simply doing media buys for an upstart company putting on its first race has evolved into complete event services for the fastest growing motorsports organization in America. The most amazing part is that it feels like we’re just getting started.”
TPI’s laundry list of services provided for the ADRL literally goes from A to Z. TPI has done it all over the past five years, from things as simple as hanging sponsor banners around the facility to something as involved as organizing and administering the ADRL contingency program, and everything in between.

Successful Testing at Crandall for Barklage Racing Team
SAINT LOUIS, MO (March 18, 2010) — With only one day left to prepare for the 2010 ADRL Universal Technical Institute Dragpalooza VI, the Barklage Racing Team is wasting no time as they gear up for this Friday’s qualifying rounds at Houston Raceway Park. “We had a pretty good run at Crandall,” says Cody Barklage of Barklage Racing Team. “We ran a 3.71 at 200mph, so we were pretty happy with our performance.” Barklage Racing traveled from Lake Ozark, Missouri to Crandall, Texas, to test their Pontiac Firebird at Dallas Raceway. “Everything went on without a hitch,” recalls Cody. “We’re so excited for Houston. We finally feel ready.”
A self-proclaimed ‘concrete palace’, Dallas Raceway offers an optimal environment for testing, hosting a ¼ mile track to provide plenty of space for testing and tuning drag cars. The track proved to provide excellent testing grounds for Team Barklage. “It felt great to run a 3.71 after such a long winter,” said Cody. “It had been quite a while since I had last driven. It felt great.”
