Taylor’s Record Run Highlights Record-Filled Day at ADRL World Finals

ENNIS, TX – Mick Snyder and Jason Scruggs continued their excellent championship duel in the American Drag Racing League’s
(ADRL) Pro Extreme class at Texas Motorplex, but it was Texan Frankie Taylor who grabbed the spotlight under the lights on Friday.
Taylor and his Jeffers Pro Cars Corvette put together the quickest run in ADRL history and broke the world speed record, going 3.577 at 212.19 mph during the third and final qualifying session at the ADRL World Finals VIII presented by CarSafe.
It gave Taylor, who holds the world E.T. record (3.581) in PX, the No. 1 qualifying spot and the speed record he had long been chasing.
“We finally got that speed record. We’ve been after that for a long time, and it just feels awesome to put together a run like that,” Taylor said. “The car was really great out the back.

Patrick Lauds ADRL Safety Requirements Following Norwalk Crash

O’FALLON, MO – Robert Patrick Jr. was already a strong believer in the ADRL’s safety requirements.
But after the first crash in his professional career, Patrick firmly believes they prevented something much worse from happening this past weekend at the Summit Racing Equipment Ohio Drags VI presented by Mickey Thompson at Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio.
The Pro Nitrous standout was involved in a major wreck during the first qualifying session, crashing hard into both guardwalls. He broke a bone in his foot and suffered injuries to his knees and ribs, but Patrick believes the safety requirements from the ADRL made a tremendous difference in avoiding serious injuries.
“I couldn’t be happier with the ADRL and everything they did. All the safety stuff they have implemented worked and it probably saved my life,” Patrick said. “It could have been a lot worse.
Rahaim Leads Winners List, McKinney Clinches ADRL World Title At ADRL Norwalk

NORWALK, OH – With another tremendous performance on Saturday, Bob Rahaim moved closer to his first American Drag Racing
League (ADRL) championship.
The Pro Nitrous standout had a brilliant day during the Summit Racing Equipment Ohio Drags VI presented by Mickey Thompson at Summit Motorsports Park, going 3.883 at 195.28 mph to beat Stan Allen in the finals and win his second straight race.
It also puts Rahaim on the cusp of clinching his first ADRL world championship in Pro Nitrous, which could come in three weeks at the ADRL World Finals VIII presented by CarSafe at Texas Motorplex.
“I just feel lucky and thankful to have things come together like this,” Rahaim said. “It’s a monumental undertaking to put this together and this is a really special moment. It truly is amazing and I just feel very fortunate.”
Snyder Leads Qualifying List At ADRL Norwalk

NORWALK, OH – Mick Snyder added one more notch to his terrific 2012 American Drag Racing League (ADRL) season in Pro Extreme on Friday at Summit Motorsports Park.
With fantastic conditions leading to remarkable times across the board in every ADRL class, Snyder had one of the best performances of the day, running a career-best 3.598 at 209.95 mph to take the No. 1 qualifying spot after three sessions of the Summit Racing Equipment Ohio Drags VI presented by Mickey Thompson.
Snyder, the PX points leader, became just the fourth ADRL driver to run in the 3.50s, setting a track record in the process on what turned into a picturesque Friday in Norwalk.
“It’s pretty cool. The 3.50s club is a neat group and to be one of four is an awesome deal,” Snyder said. “We knew the conditions would be good enough, but to actually make the pass is very cool. The air was so good, we got the right tune-up and it all worked out really well.”
ADRL Returns To Summit Motorsports Park For Summit Racing Equipment Ohio Drags VI Presented By Mickey Thompson

O’FALLON, MO – The American Drag Racing League (ADRL) returns to Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio for the Summit
Racing Equipment Ohio Drags VI presented by Mickey Thompson on Sept. 28-29. It is the ninth of 10 races on the 2012 ADRL Tour.
Racing on both Friday and Saturday will now start at 11 a.m. instead of the previously-scheduled 12 p.m. Gates will still open at 10 a.m. for fans.
With new classes, a World Championship format and expanded family fun midway, there is considerable excitement and anticipation surrounding the world’s premier eighth-mile drag racing league as it returns to Summit Motorsports Park. With only one race remaining in the 2012 season following the Summit Racing Equipment Ohio Drags VI presented by Mickey Thompson, the race for a world championship is also as tight as ever in a number of classes.
Along with the highly-anticipated and revolutionary new SuperCar Showdown class, all of the ADRL’s professional classes will make compete at Summit Motorsports Park, including Pro Junior Dragster (PJD), Summit Racing Equipment Top Sportsman (TS), Aeromotive Fuel Systems Pro Modified (PM), Extreme Pro Stock (XPS), Pro Extreme Motorcycle (PXM), Mickey Thompson Extreme 10.5 (XTF), Pro Nitrous (PN) and Pro Extreme (PX), the quickest and fastest full-bodied, doorslammer class in the world.
The gates open at 10 a.m. on Friday and Saturday, with the first round of qualifying on Friday set to begin at 11 a.m. On Saturday, the racing will begin at 11 a.m. with the final qualifying session. The first round of eliminations starts at 2:30 p.m., with special jet car passes and other exhibition runs concluding the evening on both Friday and Saturday.

O’FALLON, MO – The fall season may mean cooler temperatures, but it also means that things will be hotter than ever going into the final two American Drag Racing League (ADRL) races of 2012.
It starts this weekend with the Summit Racing Equipment Ohio Drags VI presented by Mickey Thompson at Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio and will come to an incredible finish at the World Finals VIII presented by CarSafe at Texas Motorplex in Dallas.
Cool conditions are expected in Norwalk, which could mean record performances and outstanding runs. It will also mean amazing chases in a variety of classes heading into a memorable finish on the 2012 ADRL Tour.

Scruggs’ PX Win At Home Track Highlights ADRL’s Return To Memphis

MILLINGTON, TN – Jason Scruggs’ third win in the American Drag Racing League (ADRL) in 2012 ended up being one of his favorite and it also proved to be a historic one.
At his home ADRL track and with plenty of friends and family watching, the Pro Extreme star went 3.736 at 207.34 mph to beat Brandon Pesz in the finals of the Memphis Drags III at Memphis International Raceway.
It pushed Scruggs’ career win total in the ADRL to nine, which also gives him the most wins in the history of the class.
“This is awesome. The folks at this track are so nice and the track is just great. I would rate this win here as one of the best I’ve ever had,” Scruggs said. “We had the whole family here and a bunch of friends, including some who had never been to a drag race, so this is a cool feeling.”
Pesz’s Track Record In PX Heads Qualifying List At ADRL’s Memphis Drags III

MILLINGTON, TN – Sporting a new look on his ’58 Corvette, Pro Extreme driver Brandon Pesz delivered a track record to cap off a thrilling day in the American Drag Racing League’s (ADRL) return to Memphis International Raceway for the Memphis Drags III.
With a bold new wrap, Pesz ran a blistering 3.660 at 206.99 mph in Friday’s third qualifying session to top the run Jason Scruggs made three years ago in Memphis, jumping to the No. 1 qualifying spot in Pro Extreme in the process.
If the standout run holds up, it would be the first No. 1 qualifier for Pesz in the ADRL.
“We’ve got a fast hot rod in the heat and the track was real good today,” Pesz said. “It means a lot to get the record and be in that No. 1 spot. It’s awesome and I knew this car had that in it. I knew it was there and I just want to continue to do my best.”
Other top qualifiers through three sessions on Friday include Burton Auxier (Pro Nitrous), Billy Glidden (Mickey Thompson Extreme 10.5), Eric McKinney (Pro Extreme Motorcycle), John DeFlorian (Extreme Pro Stock), Pat Musi (Aeromotive Fuel Systems Pro Modified) and Ronnie Davis (Summit Racing Equipment Top Sportsman).
Wins, Records Come For Haas Race Cars During the 2012 ADRL Season

O’FALLON, MO – Always among the premier names in the Pro Stock world, it’s been business as usual for Jerry Haas Race Cars in the American Drag Racing League (ADRL) during its 2012 season.
Jerry Haas Race Cars (JHRC) have claimed victories in all but two of the events in Extreme Pro Stock in 2012, giving the famed chassis builder five wins and making him very happy in the process.
“It’s been very exciting and it’s always thrilling to have that kind of success,” Haas said. “We have a good product and I think it speaks for itself.
“The points leader (Cary Goforth) is one of our cars and the car we’re hauling in my trailer (Richie Stevens Jr.) is No. 2 in points. It’s our deal to lose, and Richie and Cary are right there fighting for the championship.”
In fact, five of the top six drivers in the Extreme Pro Stock standings are driving cars built by JHRC.
