Brainard Victory Keeps Phillips on High Heading into U.S Nationals
Forney, TX – NHRA Sportsman Racer and defending U.S Nationals Super Comp Champion , Tommy Phillips, took home his second
Wally of the season and his 29th of his career with a Super Comp Victory over Jimmy Paulson last week in Brainard, MN. at the 32nd annual Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals.
Phillips waded six -rounds of eliminations on his way to the finals against Paulson, making it the 37th final round appearance of his career.

Phillips along with his Philco Race Services teammate Riley Ledbetter and their CBS ArcSafe / K&N Filters backed TNT dragsters are now headed to Indianapolis, IN. for the 59th annual Chevrolet Performance U.S Nationals at Lucas Oil Raceway. Both drivers will be pulling doing double duty at the event running both of their dragster in Super Comp as well as a Vintage bodied Corvette Roadster in Super Gas and a Super Stock Cavalier.
Sportsman competitors will begin qualifying for the “Big Go” on Wed. August, 28th and continue through Monday September 2nd.
