Dan Myers Racing looking for .20’s this weekend

Ramona, Ca – After making many changes to his 1957 Cameo Pick-Up Truck in the winter months and having career best numbers the first time out this 2010 season Dan Myers is looking to improve some more this weekend as he
plans on running with the West Coast Outlaw Pro Mod Association at Sacramento Raceway this June 11-12 weekend.
Last time out, the DMR team ran career best numbers with a 6.407@225.09. Much of that came from a lot of new parts and changes over the winter months. Starting with his chassis set-up, Dan Myers asked Bob Bunker Jr. with Bunker Racecars to set up his chassis as far as 4-link, pinion angle, rear steer, ect goes. Next he had Lonnie Houde with LHP Racing re-do his fuel system and he sent his blower to DMPE to have some modifications done and Darren (Mayer) suggested he change his camshaft set-up.
Team Aruba Heads to Martin for ADRL Summer Drags VI

UNION, SC — Team Aruba is back on the long road to Martin, Michigan to compete in the American Drag Racing League (ADRL) Ford Drive One Summer Drags VI this weekend at U.S. 131 Motorsports Park.
After a two-week break, the team is eager to get back on the eighth-mile track, with plans to make a stop in Ohio to test and prepare the Aruba.com pro stock racecar prior to this Friday’s qualifier rounds. “We’re going to stop in Norwalk to test our car,” says Team Aruba driver, Trevor Eman. “We haven’t been on the track since the ADRL event in Virginia a few weeks back, so we are very ready to race.”
Regarding the team’s performance this season, Team Aruba is hungry for a race victory. “We know we can perform better. We have a good, powerful car,” Eman comments. “We just need to fine tune our weak points and we’ll be back on track.” The ADRL Summer Drags is the fifth event this season towards the 2010 ADRL World Finals, held at Texas Motorplex in late October. “For now, we have our sights set on qualifying for the ‘ADRL Battle for the Belts’ race this year,” Eman says. “Our team is determined and dedicated to working our hardest to be there.”
Carpenter Aiming to Rebound in Martin

MARTIN, MI – After getting off to an incredible start to the 2010 American Drag Racing League season, Charles Carpenter’s success came to a halt at the hands of Jim Halsey in the first round of eliminations at the ADRL Speedtech
US Drags III three weeks ago.
Carpenter experienced mechanical and electrical gremlins while warming the car in the pits on Saturday morning and was unable to get them rectified before the first round of eliminations. The problem slowed Carpenter to an off-pace 4.07 after he’s lived in the mid 3.90s all season.
Carpenter soon traced the problem to a bad ground wire once he got back to his Charlotte, NC shop. With the simple fix in place, Carpenter expects to get back on track at this weekend’s ADRL Ford Drive One Summer Drags VI at US 131 Motorsports Park in Martin, MI.
Don Carter Motorsports Looking to Regain Their “Sacramento Tune-Up”

Sacramento, Ca – The last time the Don Carter Motorsports 1953 Studebaker ran at Sacramento Raceway was the debut event with the car. It also was the first time the team grabbed the number one qualifying position and the first
event win for the team. On top of all that they set low ET for the event and set a new track and West Coast Outlaw Pro Mod Association ET record with a 5.90 backed up with a 5.92.
After an unsuccessful outing last weekend in Bakersfield the team is looking to get back to their hometown track, looking at the data from the last Sacramento event and get their “Sacramento Tune-Up” back into the car.
They will be attending the West Coast Outlaw Pro Mod Association’s Nitro Nite if Fire event on June 11-12 to race in front of the hometown crowd and hopefully get back into their groove to lay down some passes that shocked everyone in attendance at the last event.

“Evil Outlaw” Qualifies #2, Looses in Semi-Finals

Firebaugh, Ca – Jay Diedrich in his “Evil Outlaw” Firebaugh Express Racing 1957 Chevy will have to wait a little 
longer before he secures that first Pro Street/Pro Mod win as he exited in the Semi-Finals this past weekend running with the West Coast Hot Rod Association in Bakersfield, Ca.
Diedrich qualified in the number two spot after three sessions of qualifying with a strong 6.162 at 245.70. In the first round of eliminations he had a bye as his competitor, Rod Pearce, did not make the call. Jay was on a great pass until about 800 feet where he hit a snake on the race track and that sent him on a wild ride getting too close for comfort to the right hand wall. He quickly dumped the chutes to get straightened out which likely saved his car from major damage.
Williamson Out in First Round at Famoso

Sacramento, Ca – The Don Carter Motorsports 1953 Studebaker team did not have the outing they were hoping for when they left the Auto Club Famoso Raceway Sunday morning. In the first round of qualifying they could only come
up with a 6.51@191 running on 7 cylinders after a spark plug broke during the pass. In the second and third qualifying sessions they couldn’t get the Studebaker down the track from A to B under power, so the 6.51 from the first session would have to do which placed them in the number four spot in the Pro Street field.
In the first round they were faced against number five qualifier Mike Bowman and his twin turbo 1968 Chevelle. Bowman had also been struggling getting the power to the ground as he could only run a best of 7.21 during qualifying.
With both cars staged during the first round it looked as if Bowman rolled through the beams and that threw off Williamson as he was caught dead late on the tree with a .200 reaction time. Bowman, however, did not flash the red bulb and left with a .019 reaction time and it was enough to hold off the Studebaker to take the win on a holeshot. Bowman ran a 6.79 while Williamson could only come up with a 6.66 after yet another spark plug broke early in the run.
Paolo Giust Leads Quick 32 Sportsman Series Going into Round Two

CAYUGA, ON – Round two in the 2010 Quick 32 Sportsman Series presented by NAPA Auto Parts will take place June 
25-27 at the Grand Bend Motorplex in Grand Bend, Ontario.
The Top Dragsters and Top Sportsman cars of the Quick 32 Sportsman Series will compete in the RPM Magazine Family PowerFest & Media Weekend at the Southern Ontario track.
The event is the first of three trips to Grand Bend for the Series.
After the opener on the Cayuga Dragway at Toronto Motorsports Park in May, Paolo Giust of Osgoode, Ontario, leads the Championship Point Award Series race with 339. The Top Dragster driver not only won the division, but took out Steve Corriveau of Fonthill, Ontario in the Quick 32 Sportsman Series final. Corriveau with his 1967 Chevy II is second at present with 315 points.

WCOPMA Next Event at Nitro Night of Fire

Sacramento, CA – The West Coast Outlaw Pro Mod Association’s next event is the 34th Annual Nitro Nite of Fire at Sacramento Raceway Park. The event is June 11 and 12th. This is the second event for the association for the 2010
year. The gates will open at 8am Friday morning and the track will be hosting an open test and tune for all competitors from 12-4pm. Qualifying starts at 5pm and the first round of qualifying for the West Coast Outlaw Pro Mods will be around 7pm.
On Saturday, June 12th the gates open at 8am. Racing starts at 11am The runs times for the West Coast Outlaw Pro Mod Association are scheduled for Q2 at 1pm, E1 at 5pm, E2 at 7pm and the final round at 9pm.
