Arana looking for repeat success in Englishtown

ENGLISHTOWN, NJ- Englishtown brought early success to Pro Stock Motorcycle rider Adam Arana last year, and after a successful weekend in Atlanta he is ready to ride the momentum into this weekend’s Toyota NHRA Summernationals, May 29-June 1, at Old Bridge Township Raceway Park.

The ProtectTheHarvest.com/MAVTV Buell rider reached the second round for the first time this season in Atlanta, and now Arana is returning to the track where he secured his first career round-win after only four starts during his rookie year.

“It brings back good memories returning to Englishtown because I was able to get the first round-win of my career there,” Arana said. “That’s where it all started for me that season. Now that I’m in my second season and have already gotten a round-win, I hope to continue the momentum.

“I do hope that I won’t have to face a Harley rider early in eliminations after the speed and success they have shown so far this season, but after the way we ran in Englishtown last year we definitely have good information to go off of to make us just as competitive.”

Even with his previous success in Englishtown, the youngest Arana will try to test during the week at Atco Dragway before the Summernationals kicks off on Friday.

“Something the team has struggled with this season is getting off the line well,” Arana said. “I had the best 60-foot numbers that I have had all year in Atlanta, and I feel like we may have the problem fixed.

“Thankfully, it looks like we might get to test this week. If we do, I feel like we will go into the race weekend better-prepared for the first couple of rounds of qualifying and can then really focus on eliminations instead.”

Arana will look forward to another successful weekend starting with qualifying sessions at 4 and 6:15 p.m., Friday, and 12:45 and 3:15 p.m., Saturday. Eliminations will start at approximately 11 a.m., Sunday, with both qualifying and elimination action broadcast on ESPN2.
