“I think about way too many things when I’m against dad. Normally I’m calm and collected and I think whatever is going to happen will happen, but I was so wanting this win that I was thinking don’t screw up on the light, don’t red light, don’t pull in too deep. I wanted to pull in deep, but I didn’t want to light the red light and just ruin it for my team. I was nervous. I just didn’t want to screw up and it was just one of those deals where I just wanted to go and get this car straight down the track and do my job as a driver. I knew everyone would be looking at me so I just didn’t want to screw it up for us,” said Force, a two-time winner in 2014.

“(This win) shows that we work well as a team. We work together. I knew we were going to give the fans quite a race. For four runs in qualifying we were side by side. John went down the track all of them. A lot of the success this weekend goes back to John Bandimere. I call this the coolest track in the country because it has the cooling system under the racing surface. If you didn’t have that system there would be a lot of tire smoke,” said Robert Hight, a five time winner in 2014.

Getting to the final last weekend was huge accomplishment,” said Courtney Force on reflecting on how important this win was. “All my guys told me they cheered just because they got to the final. It just means that our Funny Car is turning around and we are getting things turned around. Next weekend is a new weekend in Englishtown and it will be a new weekend to get after it again.
