VANOVER IN FULL EFFECT FOR THE WIN!

Bristol, TN – There is an inside joke amongst many of the 4.70 Quick Outlaw racers about Chris Vanover and the knack he has had for knocking off some of the more accomplished racers in the series. When the Outlaws left Bristol Dragway early Sunday morning the “Vanover Effect” had swept # 1 qualifier and the win over 58 of his competitors.

In 6 rounds of racing his worst reaction time was .017, including a .003 in the first round.

The semi-finals saw Vanover defeat Wendall Martin and his Outlaw Trailers sponsored 68 Camaro 4.736 to a 4.777.  Runner-up Shane Westmoreland ran a perfect 4.700 to win over Ohio’s Rusty Hampton 4.732. Factoring in Hampton’s .003 to .035 starting line advantage and the race was nearly a dead heat.

Vanovers assault on the Christmas tree continued in the final with a .008 reaction time and 4.729 to turn back Westmoreland and his .035 initiated 4.730.

Dru Williams from Manton MI won the Worldwide Express long distance award. Hampton also won one of the Coolshirt Systems bounty rewards for eliminating former series champion Joseph Bagwell and runner-up Westmoreland earned additional cash by taking care of another former champion Tyler Allen.

The remaining 4.70 Quick Outlaw events will all include the 4.50 Dragsters starting with the next event July 24 at Silver Dollar Dragway in Reynolds GA. Visit vergemotorsports.com for more details.
